2. During the production of my magazine I used a range of
technologies to reach my final product, throughout the
process I have learned about them and used them to improved
my magazine.
I used the following technologies:
Blogger
Cannon 600D
Lighting
Adobe Photoshop cs3
Internet explorer
Microsoft PowerPoint/
Slideshare
TECHNOLOGY
3. I also Blogger throughout my research and planning process
up to my final production. It is a very useful and easy was to
store and display all the my research as you can easily type up
post and research, as well as attach photos, videos, links and
Slideshare, I did this to make my blog more visual and
appealing. In this process I learned a lot about blogger, and
the layout meant that I could refer to it with ease. I would not
have been as easy if it were not recorded on technology
(blogger) and would have been much more difficult if it was in
another form such as handwritten.
BLOGGER
4. I used this camera to take all my pictures for my final
production. By using this type of camera I was able to get a
digital image of my photo straight after I took it. This was
very useful as I could see what I need to change straight
away, like the lighting, pose or framing, instead of having to
do several photo shoots.
The camera also had a large memory card which was able to
store all my photos and then I could also upload them onto
the computer where I could later finalise which pictures I
was going to use and edit them for my final production.
I have learned a lot about this camera
including many universal functions such as
ISO, aperture and iris, this allowed me to get
the best outcome.
CAMERA – CANNON 600D
5. I used lighting to get very well lit photographs as I decided
that artificial light would be best for the type of shots that I
wanted for my magazine.
Using the lighting was simple however it required time to
get all the lights in the right position to get the look I was
aiming for. I used the internet to find tutorials and
examples in how to position the lights to get certain effects.
I decided that I wanted to use high key lighting, by using
high key lighting it gave a more professional look to my
images and made it more like a real magazine as high key
lighting was a convention that I found to be
common in my research.
LIGHTING
6. I used Adobe Photoshop cs3 to adjust the images before
using them in my magazine, and to put my final productions
together by layering.
By using Photoshop I learned how to manipulate images by
adjusting contrast and brightness and remove blemishes on
my models. I also used Photoshop to add text and create my
whole production. I learned how to use this programme by
researching tutorials on the internet which were easy to use
and remember for future reference.
One of the images I created
on Photoshop; I adjusted the
contrast and brightness and
removed her blemishes.
ADOBE PHOTOSHOP CS3
7. I used internet explorer to conduct my research into codes
and conventions, including the theorist, before the
production of my magazine which helped me during the
process of my magazine. I used websites such as existing
Slideshare presentations, Wikipedia and other various
websites.
I also used internet explorer to research tutorials during the
production of my magazine to learn about how to use the
camera and how to use Photoshop, via YouTube.
INTERNET EXPLORER
I also used internet explorer to access blogger
as it was only accessible online. Blogger is
were I kept all my research and progress.
Without internet explorer I wouldn’t be able to
access blogger making my research and
planning very difficult.
8. I used Microsoft PowerPoint
during my research to co-
ordinate the common codes
and conventions of music
magazines, I put it in a
PowerPoint as it was a
clear and organised way of
presenting my research in a
concise format which
means it was easy to refer
to later on when making my
final production.
POWERPOINT/SLIDESHARE
I then transferred the
PowerPoint onto a
Slideshare. This is a
presentation of the
PowerPoint in a video
format which is created on
the online website and is
accessible to anyone on the
internet and it also allowed
me to add the link onto my
blog.
9. The use of technology has played a big part in helping
me along with my production process and creating the
final production.
Without the technologies I have used, my product
would be significantly less professional and of a much
lower presentable quality.
These technologies have helped me organise and
present all my work and research to a professional
standard.
I was not familiar with the technologies I have used
before producing my construction therefore I have
learned a lot about them while constructing my
magazine.
