The Discovery Of A Business Model Innovation
The disruptive business models are those that surprisingly manage top to make new markets and
disrupt the existing markets. To discover these innovations, it requires a level of innovativeness and
open–mindedness that will enable one to create new influential innovations. The discovery of a
business model innovation usually starts with customer value propositions and customer segment.
The business model brings about logic and provides vital data that demonstrates how a company can
formulate itself and provide valuable input to customers. Furthermore, it facilitates the setup of
revenue allocation, the costs and the various profit margins that the business delivers (Colovic,
2012).Furthermore, these different issues are also interrelated and, therefore, offer a competitive
advantage besides bringing in huge profit margins. Business models also provide a business design
and outlay that defines how the particular company can convert the various payments received into
profits, and help the company to excel as an innovation and as a business model, as well as to
understand the different business design options according to the customer needs and the various
technological advances. To develop a successful business model, one has to ensure that the
competitive advantage of the company remains a permanent part of it and that this model is difficult
to duplicate and redo. The business model brings about the financial and organizational architecture
of the particular business. The

Field officers/Loan officers are the face of the organization. They are the ones who regularly visit
underprivileged in villages and assist them to work their way out of poverty. In a vast country such
as India which has many geographical and infrastructure challenges it is essential that field officers
spend most of their time in the field. However, 30% of their valuable time is lost in essential paper
work involved in the field, data entry and other administrative tasks.
In order to relieve them from these cumbersome and error prone tasks, SKS has embarked on a
business transformation model that streamlines the field operations. As a part of digitization, SKS
has provided tabs that work exclusively offline. Applications deployed on the tab are customized,
secured and encrypted with international standards. The SM just needs to sync the tab with the
desktop to get his mundane tasks done in seconds. As a result, he is now able to save much of the
needed time, which is now being used to visit more villages and uplift households. In addition, SKS
is able to cut administrative costs significantly.

A Survey on Transformation of BPMN to BPEL Essay
III. LITERATURE SURVEY Many researchers have studied the transformation between BPMN and
BPEL. Most of the research conducted in this field is analytical in nature. Only few insights exist
into the practical use of BPMN. Most notably is the work of Ouyang et al. [10, 11] and [12], who
propose that BPMN to BPEL transformation be accomplished by multiple phase matching of pattern
and graph transformation. An algorithm for generating readable BPEL code from BPMN model is
presented in [10] which generates BPEL code from BPMN model by discovering structural patterns
in the BPMN models which in turn are mapped into BPEL structured activities. The original BPD is
decomposed into well structured components having one entry and one exit point. ... Show more

Event handler is enabled while the scope is under execution and thus the corresponding translation
is based upon the event action rule. The Standard Process Model (SPM) is decomposed into a
collection of event action rules that trigger one another to encode the underlying control flow logic.
The fundamental idea is to define precondition set (i.e., encapsulating all the possible ways of
reaching an activity) for all the activities in SPM. Each precondition set is associated with an
activity and defines the possible way of enabling the activity. Afterwards, all the precondition set
with their associated activities are transformed into event–action rule which in turn translates into
BPEL event handlers. However, this approach only holds for one specific process model type by
applying structural restriction on BPDs. Eventually, the resulting BPEL code is not readable and
thus difficult to modify and maintain. Since, a well–structured pattern impose restriction on BPDs,
therefore, Ouyang et al.[12] also present another approach that not only maps block–structure in
BPMN model but also accounts for quasi–structure and flow based acyclic fragment into block
structure BPEL. Quasi–structure patterns are those patterns which can exhibit well–structuredness
e.g. splitting a gateway into two gateways without changing semantics to separate the incompatible
parts. Three types of

Business Models Of Priceline And Greentoe
Introduction
There are lots of business models that are used in our society today, such as: Product & Service
Customization, Online Auctions, Group Purchasing, Affiliate Marketing, Find The Best Price, Name
Your Own Price, and Social Networking & Web 2.0 Tools. According to How Things Work and
Entrepreneur, the "Name Your Own Price" business model is the top model to use not only when
opening up a starter business but in the business world period (2014, 2009). Priceline and Greentoe
are two of the most well–known business that use the "NYOP" business model and are now
described as the "top–ranked travel and shopping sites in the United States". (Laudon & Traver,
2014, p. 718)
Background
The concept of the "NYOP" model is to allow the consumer to set the initial bid for the service, or
product, they desire. The price can then increase based on the willingness of the consumer to haggle
in order to get the good or service. The company, Priceline, first initiated the "Name Your Own
Price" e–commerce business model. Priceline's grown profit margins of $956 million in 2008 (Hinz,
2011), secured the acceptance and success of the "NYOP" model. Although, there is a high profit
margin, the "NYOP" business model is limited to products such as the ones offered by Priceline. As
described in our text, "it is unclear at this time if the Priceline business model can extend to other
categories of products. Experiments to sell gasoline and groceries through Priceline failed" (Laudon

Object And Process Modeling, And Stragies For System...
System Analysis and System Requirements Object Modeling, Process Modeling, and Strategies for
System Analysis and Problem Solving April 6, 2005 Object Modeling A class can be described as a
collection of objects of similar type. These objects often share the same attributes, operations,
methods, relationships, and semantics. Additionally, once a class is defined any number of objects
can be created and associated to that class. For example, beagles and boxers represent different
breeds (i.e. instances) of "dogs" which also can be viewed as a distinct class. Furthermore, defining
classes, as part of the object modeling process is not that different from the traditional system
analysis process, which seeks to achieve a goal (i.e. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In addition, to organizing the flow of data throughout a system, logical models also provide means
of bridging the gap of communicating information to end–users in a non–technical manner while
also preserving the requirements. Finally, logical models encourage creativity and reduce the risk of
missing requirements, which are normally missed because of pre–occupation with technical details.
Like the logical processing model a context data flow diagram defines the scope and boundary for
the system and project. Because the scope of any project is always subject to change; the context
diagram is also subject to constant change. A context diagram is referred to as being another
representation an environmental model. Finally, the initial project scope can be defined using a
context diagram. A project's scope is important in that it defines what aspect of the business a
system or application is supposed to support. An event diagram represents the final area of my
discussion of the Process Modeling method. An event diagram represents a context diagram that
focuses on the inputs, outputs, and data store interactions for a single event. In addition, most event
diagrams are also representative of a single process, which can be referenced back to the event
identified for a decomposition diagram. Event diagrams therefore are valuable for identifying and
addressing event driven factors, which when combined with other

Define business profiles, processes, and modeling..
A business profile is an overview that defines a company's overall functions, processes,
organization, products, services, customers, suppliers, competitors, constraints, and future direction.
A business process describes specific events, tasks, and desired results. To understand a company's
operations, systems analysts first develop a business profile and then create a series of business
models. A business model graphically represents business functions that consist of business
processes such as sales, accounting, and purchasing that perform specific tasks. (Pages 10 –11)
3. Identify the main components of an information system, and describe the system's stakeholders.
An information system has five key components: hardware, software, data, processes, and people.
People who have an interest in an information system are called stakeholders. Stakeholder groups
include the management group responsible for the system; the users, sometimes called end users,
inside and outside the company who will interact with the system; and IT staff members, such as
systems analysts, programmers, and network administrators who develop and support the system
(Pages 8–10)
4. Explain the difference between vertical and horizontal systems packages.
A horizontal system is a basic system, such as an inventory or payroll program, that can be adapted
for use in many companies. A vertical system is designed to meet the

The capacity of the Dechaffers for the dry berries was also given as 1500 bbl/hr and once again the
implied and actual utilization will be 1.0. Switching to the Wet Berries, we see that there are two
Dechaffers that can each store up to 1500bbl/hr, which will add up to a capacity of 3000bbl/hr. We
can calculate the implied utilization of the wet berry Dechaffer by dividing the input rate
(1500bbl/hr) by the capacity (3000bbl/hr) and the actual utilization by dividing the Flow Rate
(600bbl/hr) by the capacity (3000bbl/hr). The Dryers set the standard for the wet berries because
they are the bottleneck of the operation. There are three dryers that can process 200bbl/hr, giving us
a total capacity of 600bbl/hr. The implied utilization is not very realistic because it takes the
1500bbl/hr input rate and divides it by the 600bbl/hr capacity. The actual utilization of a bottleneck
is always 1.0 because it is operating at maximum capacity. Lastly, there are three separators that
have a capacity of 400bbl/hr each, giving us a total of 1200bbl/hr. The implied utilization will be
discovered as 1.25 because you are taking the 1500bbl/hr input rate and dividing it by 1200bbl/hr
capacity. The actual utilization can be found by 600bbl/hr (wet berries) plus 375bbl/hr (dry berries)
and using them as your input rate. So you will divide the 975bbl/hr by 1200bbl/hr capacity and get
.8125. 2. Enter your answer and supporting arguments for

The Food Chain : Food And Agriculture Organization Of The...
It is important to start with de definition of food chain, FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of
the United Nations) defines the food chain as responsible for the supply of food that is safe, healthy
and nutritious, which is completely traceable from farm to fork (Fao.org, 2014). The food chain is
reported as both a supply chain and a value chain (Havas and watts 2014). Therefore, supply chain
consists of all parts, from primary producers, food processing, food distribution, food retail, food
catering /hospitality to final consumers (see figure 1).
On the other hand, it is important to understand the appropriate meaning of traceability as the
capacity to determine the continuing location of products and to trace products back to their origin
and used methods of production (Trienekens et al., 2014).
Based on the supplies of traceability in the food chain, all supply chain actors have to get an internal
and external traceability in order to supply whole supply chain and know who their supplier is and
to whom the product is directed (see figure 2). Besides, they have to apply safe and quality
management systems such as HACCP, International Standard for Auditing Food Suppliers (IFS), the
British Retail Consortium (BRC), Safe Quality Food (SQF), inter alia, in order to follow the
regulations and control all their operations in an efficient way (Aung and Chang 2014).
In traceability, it is necessary, the trace back investigation for food in the situation of fraud or

The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan
As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the
same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the
regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the
rules needed to 'pull' the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the
Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the rest
of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the developers
are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable and reliable
code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and they are left
with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19

if the reader is new to the concept of EA, this chapter is somewhat overwhelming to understand.
Nonetheless, it provides six elements of EA design; EA Frameworks, Components, Current

concept that EA is more than a physical model filled with processes and technologies but also
includes the people and attitudes toward business held by that individual.
This information is easier to digest than the concept of EA components. However, the concepts are
still important to the process and the chapter provides models for organizations as well as roles
contained with a given enterprise, which helps determine the acceptance and success of an EA

Strategic Management and Business Model Essay
MBA 615 final exam 1. How can IT be used as a key driver of business value?
The fascination with IT–enabled business innovation comes at a time of significant uncertainty and
change as entrenched players and new entrants struggle to define a sustainable proprietary position
for success in the turbulent twenty–first century. While most agree that Internet–based technologies
have progressed at lightning speed since they were introduced to the business world in the early to
mid–1990s, developing common standards and robust commercial technologies usually takes time.
The challenge of integrating new technologies into the "legacy" of computers, networks, and
systems already in place within companies adds to the problem. To achieve the ... Show more

business strategy and Information Technology (IT) by managing information resources on several
levels to accomplish a competitive advantage over other airline carriers and gain the attention of
their customers through innovation. Finally, this paper will address suggestions to achieve better
Business–IT alignment to meet Air Canada's goals for the future and continued success.
A significant step towards Air Canada's success was implementing a multiple–vendor sourcing
strategy for IT. Utilizing their long time trusted partner, IBM, who was familiar with their industry
needs and company IT standards became the key liaison for expanding additional technologies
needed by other outside vendors. This newly expanded relationship between IBM and Air Canada
allowed for the airliner to concentrate on what they do best which is fly airplanes and IBM to
become an invested partner in the company's success towards innovation because they were like an

Management Models Of Management Model
"Management is the activity of getting things done with the aid of people and other resources"
(Boddy, 1998). Today, organizations around the globe rely heavily on management to ensure
effective and efficient business. A wide variety of management models exist in order to
accommodate different business needs. This essay will briefly discuss various management models,
but will mainly focus on the Competing Values Framework (CVF) and current examples
demonstrating two models within the CVF. A simple search in Google or a quick browse through the

135). The final model within the CVF is internal process. This model is similar to the rational goals
model, but its main focus is on consolidation and continuity within the company (Boddy, 1998).
Max Weber played a large role in the development of bureaucratic management within this model.
Bureaucratic administration allows businesses to thrive in terms of precision, continuity, unity, and
the reduction of material and personal costs, according to Weber (Weber, 1978). Though each of
these models is crucial to the CVF, the remainder of this essay will focus on comparing and
contrasting only the open systems model and internal process model. Internal process and open
system models are located diagonally from each other on the CVF diagram. That being said, many
differences exist between the two models; however, the basic management goal is similar. These two
models will be analyzed based on the framework shown in diagram B. Contemporary examples,
mainly Haier Power and Deloitte, but also Google and McDonalds, will exemplify each model. It is
important to note that many companies don't strictly follow one model. Companies may follow
certain characteristics of one model and other characteristics of another model. Every company,
regardless the model of management followed, expects management to add value to the company.
This is illustrated through financial statements. The 2013 financial statements for Google, Haier

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Digital Investigation Models
I. COMPARATIVE STUDY OF DIGITAL INVESTIGATION EXISTANT MODELS
In this section we study and analyze some related work of digital investigation models. Advantages

The Systems Development Life Cycle
Introduction:
"The systems development life cycle (SDLC) is the process of determining how an information

[1]. There are several approaches (models) to the SDLC but purpose of the each approach is the
same. Each and every process comprises of phases: Planning phase, Analysis phase, Design phase,
Implementation phase, and Maintenance phase. The Planning phase is phase related to the planning

Now to go into further details of the feasibility, we have to define the types of feasibility. There are
three types of feasibility
Technical Feasibility– It is the type of feasibility which deals with the technical specifications of the
system and verifies the project feasibility within the limits of current technology? Does the
technology exist at all? How complex is the system? These are the various aspects which are dealt in
the technical feasibility of the system [1].
Economic Feasibility– It is the type of feasibility which deals with money related issues in the
company. This is also known as cost–benefit analysis. This attempts to answer the question "Should
we build the system?" Economic feasibility is determined by identifying costs and benefits
associated with the system, assigning values to them, calculating future cash flows, and measuring
the financial worthiness of the project. As a result of this analysis, the financial opportunities and
risks of the project can be understood. These are the aspect which are dealt in economic feasibility
[1].
Organizational Feasibility– It is the type of feasibility which deals with "how well the system
ultimately will be accepted by its users" [1], how is the overall market for the system, is there any

Application Of A Business Process Modeling
Abstract– BPM is typically performed by business analysts, who provide expertise in the modeling
discipline. Every business requires some form of investment and enough customers to whom its
output can be sold on a consistent basis in order to make a profit. A series of action or steps to be
taken in order to achieve a particular end. Business process modeling enables a common
understanding and analysis of a business process. A process model can provide a comprehensive
understanding of a process. An enterprise can be analyzed and integrated through its business
processes. Hence the importance of correctly modeling its business processes. Business analysts can
use IBM Blueworks Live to denote milestones at various points in the process life cycle, including
the point at which the process is ready to be implemented in IBM BPM. IBM Blueworks Live is a
cloud–based business process modeler, belonging under the set of IBM SmartCloud applications.
The application is designed to help organizations discover and document their business process,
business decisions and policies in a collaborative manner.

The 9 Elements Of The Business Model Canvas
1.1 Business Model Definition Osterwalder (2010) once said that a business model would explain
the roots of how an organization works in order to create, deliver, and preserve its value. Referred
from a definition in dictionaries, the term "business model" can be under stood as "the plan
implemented by a company to generate revenue and make a profit from operations. The model
includes the components and functions of the business, as well as the revenue it generates and the
expenses it incurs." (Investopedia, 2013) or the simplest of definitions – "All it really meant was
how you planned to make money" (Ovans, 2015) Moreover, Osterwalder also mentioned that the

However, some value propositions might be similar to the existing ones but they are added some
new property and characteristic in to a new product. (Osterwalder, A., & Pigneur, Y.,2010)
Therefore, as an entrepreneur, we have to think that what value we can deliver to our target
customers? Which customer's problem that we can solve? What we can serve to fulfill customer's
wants? Which product or service we present to each customer segment? A value proposition can
build a customer value through the combination of many factors in order to serve the customer's
wants. It can be in term of quantity (such as price and speed of service) or quality (such as design
and experience that customer will perceive). Osterwalder (2010) mentioned some factors of the
value propositions such as novelty, efficacy, ability to serve a specific need of customer, design,
brand, accessibility, and ability to finish a job. Novelty Some value propositions serve the new
different needs that customer might not know before because they are not existed before. In many
cases, this kind of value propositions might be related to a new technology. For example, cell phone
could build a whole new market of wireless telecommunication industry. On the other hand, a

Marketing Model Of A Business Model
A business model is a plan used by a business to generate profits while satisfying customers' needs,
managing competitors, and structuring its relationships. Most business models can be illustrated
diagrammatically as they show a detailed approach that the company intends to follow to achieve its
objectives. There is no standard for structuring a business model, and a firm is free to utilize
whichever approach it deems fit to achieve its targets. However, business model innovation is
necessary to ensure that the company has an edge over competitors who will also have their own
models. A business model is constructed following a feasibility analysis of a firm's target market.
However, the model is created before the business plan is completed. Having conducted a feasibility

Creating A Successful Business Model
Introduction
Creating a successful business model requires a wide variety of detail. Numerous businesses decide
simply to enter a market with standard practices and standard products that are related to a particular
product or service, however, countless others attempt to innovate by creating new services or
business models. Innovation is done through small–medium enterprises (SME) or through
innovation–driven enterprises (IDE). The following paper will examine two broad firms and their
various details regarding benefits and risks. Innovation will be addressed in developing countries, in
addition, how firms can create a culture of innovation to support this business model. The concern
regarding government involvement will be explored, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Given that IDE's are creating new and un–tested concepts into the market, the possibility of failure
is significant. However, this same risk can provide a greater payoff for IDE entrepreneurs if they
manage to be successful (Aulet, 2013).
Creating a Culture of Innovation
According to Aulet
There are a number of ways companies can create a culture of innovation. One way companies can
create a culture of innovation is by creating an infrastructure to allow people to experiment without
it hurting the business; innovation comes from experimentation and risk and when risk can be
controlled more experimentation can be done (Aulet, 2013). By creating an environment that not
only allows innovation, but rewards it, a continuing cycle can be created to invite growth.
According to Peters
One way is to create a culture of innovation is by creating an environment that focuses on the
development of people (Heywood, De Smet & Webb 2014). By focusing on the development of
individuals and by creating environments that are supportive, open, and energetic, it encourages new
ideas and positive outlooks.
According to Execution Plan Video
Rewarding those who develop innovation is helping to encouraging it (Films on Demand, 2008).

Guthy – Renker Case Brief
Guthy – Renker an infomercial studio which has emerged into direct response marketing which has
discovered and developed different award winning products. Most of the function – product design,
manufacturing, media, call centers, fulfillment, shipping, customer service – are outsourced.
Whenever there is need of information Guthy – Renker be contingent on their IT department to
gather data and produce report. To overcome this difficulty and to reduce the manual effort they
have come up with its first formal Business Intelligence project. The company 's initial model of
business intelligence used a FoxPro based database management system which had several issues
with the maintenance and update of the data and was also not able to scale up with the growth of the
business. With expertise from Trinus Corporation, Steve Johnson (Vice President of Information
Technology) and Manish Gupta (Director of Information technology) rolled out new BI project.
Some of the major changes to the company were the standardization of data across the enterprise
and made data available to all the level business users with ease. They also made sure that the
reports are generated even for the one who got no technical expertise. According to Joseph, W.,
Clark & Omar, A., El Sawy. (2010), "BI capabilities are often described in terms of key performance
indicators, or KPIs" (p. 15).
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) are used to evaluate tangible performance of an organization.

Section 1: Analysis on a value map or value network analysis
Value Map or value network analysis (VNA) is used for companies to gain full insights into how
business is operating in term of relationship with its external environment or actors. It is important
to understand how to convert intangible or tangible and knowledge assets and business relationships

Case Study Of Jamcracker

they are involved in (textbook). Jamcracker can be classified as an aggregator business model

Improving Efficiency with Business Process Modeling
In order for businesses to be successful, they must find out what the customer wants and meet that
need. This can be difficult when dealing with the ever–evolving trends of today's society. Businesses
must remain flexible and constantly be experimenting with new technology and ideas to better
provide their services to the customer. To help accomplish this goal, Business Process Modeling can
be used to provide a solution, to help refine and organize business processes, which may in return
make the business more efficient.
A key feature of any successful business is how the business provides its services to customers. This
is often done through business processes, a collection of organized tasks or activities that are
intended to accomplish a specific goal. (Pittarese, 2014) These tasks may encompass different
functional areas and are designed to "create value for the customer."(Pittarese, 2014) Though a
business is successful and may have been around for quite some time, they often find the need to
update their business processes, in order to keep up with customer demands, technological advances,
and to improve efficiency within their company. One way of doing this could be through business
process modeling, a tool used by businesses to create a diagram of the various business processes
and actions that are carried out within a company.
In order to create a business process model, a business must first identify and create the current
business process model, which is

Business Model Final
Business Model Final 2 Business models have a huge impact on how an organizations operate. It is
crucial that an organization chose a business model before inception in order to succeed. Basically,
business models have become the new basis of competition, replacing product features and benefits
as the playing field on which companies emerge as dominant or laggards (Plantes, 2013).
The business model canvas is an excellent choice for businesses to use when starting a business. It
was created by Alex Osterwalder and Yves Pigneur. The Business Model Canvas, is a strategic
management and entrepreneurial tool and it allows you to describe, design, challenge, invent, and
pivot your business model (The Business Model Canvas, 2015).
From a business standpoint, the business model canvas is easy to use and it comes in different forms
of software. Start–up businesses can use the model in a variety of ways. The business model canvas
can help them determine who their customer base will be and aid them in finding out how to reach
them. In today?s business world, competition is everywhere. A start–up business must be able to be
competitive in order to succeed. Finally, a start–up business must be able to understand the

Modern business environment is fast moving, dynamic and diverse with variety of individuals from

business objectives is a complex process and doesn't always deliver intended results. My
organization engages in building infrastructure to fixed and mobile telecommunication service

averagely 1,500 Work In Progress (WIP) projects at a given point of time. These projects are spread

time for handling financials of a mobile infrastructure build program and the other 50% of time
acting as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the ERP implementation program.
Both of these roles presents inherited challenges when it comes to managing the stakeholders and

The Process Of Conducting Vulnerability Assessments And...
Abstract The purpose of this report is to explain the process of conducting vulnerability assessments
and modeling threats. Vulnerability assessments are conducted to keep organizations safe from
device and network vulnerabilities. There is a process that should be followed in order to perform a
proper vulnerability assessment, if it is followed properly the organization will eliminate most if not
all vulnerabilities from their network. Modeling threats is also an important step in creating a safe
computing environment. It is a way for organizations to classify threats to their network,
applications, and devices. Classifying the threats allows an organization act accordingly when it
comes to the threats that are present on their networks. All organizations should adopt some form of
vulnerability assessment and threat modeling, this will help protect the organizations reputation as
well as its data that resides and travels through the network.

Solving And Prioritizing Cii's Problems
After defining and prioritizing CII's problems, I will begin the implementation process by focusing
on the goals Dr. Wachtel and I set, deciding on specific interventions, and formulating a plan to be
accomplished. The three goals proposed are to reduce counselor burnout, improve client satisfaction,
and increase cultural sensitivity. Due to the dynamic and intertwined nature of the problems, they
may all be addressed simultaneously at one point in the process. To begin, the first intervention will
focus on reducing the burn out and absenteeism, employing three different interventions. The first
intervention is to hire more staff, including per diem and part time employees, to reduce the
caseload of the existing clinicians. This will be measured by increasing staff by 20 percent. A second
intervention, to address burnout, is to increase supervision, as measured by reducing the ratio of
supervisee's to supervisors to three to one. The third intervention is to create staff process groups,
where counselors can discuss concerns, general information, and even their cases. With the creation
of this group, CII will have greater transparency and communication among staff and Dr. Wachtel. It
is clear that the influx of clients has caused strain on the staff as they are taking on many more cases
and are becoming overwhelmed. The purpose of these interventions is to increase support for the
staff in a variety of ways so that everyone is able to provide quality services. To address

The Discovery Of A Business Model Innovation

  • 1. The Discovery Of A Business Model Innovation The disruptive business models are those that surprisingly manage top to make new markets and disrupt the existing markets. To discover these innovations, it requires a level of innovativeness and open–mindedness that will enable one to create new influential innovations. The discovery of a business model innovation usually starts with customer value propositions and customer segment. The business model brings about logic and provides vital data that demonstrates how a company can formulate itself and provide valuable input to customers. Furthermore, it facilitates the setup of revenue allocation, the costs and the various profit margins that the business delivers (Colovic, 2012).Furthermore, these different issues are also interrelated and, therefore, offer a competitive advantage besides bringing in huge profit margins. Business models also provide a business design and outlay that defines how the particular company can convert the various payments received into profits, and help the company to excel as an innovation and as a business model, as well as to understand the different business design options according to the customer needs and the various technological advances. To develop a successful business model, one has to ensure that the competitive advantage of the company remains a permanent part of it and that this model is difficult to duplicate and redo. The business model brings about the financial and organizational architecture of the particular business. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Benefits Of Fline Model Table of Contents Executive Summary 4 Introduction 5 Traditional business process 5 Disadvantages 5 Solution 6 Benefits of the offline model 8 Conclusion 8 Table of Figures Figure 1 Innovative Technological Process 7 Figure 2 Single Sign–on Architecture 7 Executive Summary Field officers/Loan officers are the face of the organization. They are the ones who regularly visit underprivileged in villages and assist them to work their way out of poverty. In a vast country such as India which has many geographical and infrastructure challenges it is essential that field officers spend most of their time in the field. However, 30% of their valuable time is lost in essential paper work involved in the field, data entry and other administrative tasks. In order to relieve them from these cumbersome and error prone tasks, SKS has embarked on a business transformation model that streamlines the field operations. As a part of digitization, SKS has provided tabs that work exclusively offline. Applications deployed on the tab are customized, secured and encrypted with international standards. The SM just needs to sync the tab with the desktop to get his mundane tasks done in seconds. As a result, he is now able to save much of the needed time, which is now being used to visit more villages and uplift households. In addition, SKS is able to cut administrative costs significantly. • 5. A Survey on Transformation of BPMN to BPEL Essay III. LITERATURE SURVEY Many researchers have studied the transformation between BPMN and BPEL. Most of the research conducted in this field is analytical in nature. Only few insights exist into the practical use of BPMN. Most notably is the work of Ouyang et al. [10, 11] and [12], who propose that BPMN to BPEL transformation be accomplished by multiple phase matching of pattern and graph transformation. An algorithm for generating readable BPEL code from BPMN model is presented in [10] which generates BPEL code from BPMN model by discovering structural patterns in the BPMN models which in turn are mapped into BPEL structured activities. The original BPD is decomposed into well structured components having one entry and one exit point. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Event handler is enabled while the scope is under execution and thus the corresponding translation is based upon the event action rule. The Standard Process Model (SPM) is decomposed into a collection of event action rules that trigger one another to encode the underlying control flow logic. The fundamental idea is to define precondition set (i.e., encapsulating all the possible ways of reaching an activity) for all the activities in SPM. Each precondition set is associated with an activity and defines the possible way of enabling the activity. Afterwards, all the precondition set with their associated activities are transformed into event–action rule which in turn translates into BPEL event handlers. However, this approach only holds for one specific process model type by applying structural restriction on BPDs. Eventually, the resulting BPEL code is not readable and thus difficult to modify and maintain. Since, a well–structured pattern impose restriction on BPDs, therefore, Ouyang et al.[12] also present another approach that not only maps block–structure in BPMN model but also accounts for quasi–structure and flow based acyclic fragment into block structure BPEL. Quasi–structure patterns are those patterns which can exhibit well–structuredness e.g. splitting a gateway into two gateways without changing semantics to separate the incompatible parts. • 7. Business Models Of Priceline And Greentoe Introduction There are lots of business models that are used in our society today, such as: Product & Service Customization, Online Auctions, Group Purchasing, Affiliate Marketing, Find The Best Price, Name Your Own Price, and Social Networking & Web 2.0 Tools. According to How Things Work and Entrepreneur, the "Name Your Own Price" business model is the top model to use not only when opening up a starter business but in the business world period (2014, 2009). Priceline and Greentoe are two of the most well–known business that use the "NYOP" business model and are now described as the "top–ranked travel and shopping sites in the United States". (Laudon & Traver, 2014, p. 718) Background The concept of the "NYOP" model is to allow the consumer to set the initial bid for the service, or product, they desire. The price can then increase based on the willingness of the consumer to haggle in order to get the good or service. The company, Priceline, first initiated the "Name Your Own Price" e–commerce business model. Priceline's grown profit margins of $956 million in 2008 (Hinz, 2011), secured the acceptance and success of the "NYOP" model. Although, there is a high profit margin, the "NYOP" business model is limited to products such as the ones offered by Priceline. As described in our text, "it is unclear at this time if the Priceline business model can extend to other categories of products. Experiments to sell gasoline and groceries through Priceline failed" (Laudon & ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Object And Process Modeling, And Stragies For System... System Analysis and System Requirements Object Modeling, Process Modeling, and Strategies for System Analysis and Problem Solving April 6, 2005 Object Modeling A class can be described as a collection of objects of similar type. These objects often share the same attributes, operations, methods, relationships, and semantics. Additionally, once a class is defined any number of objects can be created and associated to that class. For example, beagles and boxers represent different breeds (i.e. instances) of "dogs" which also can be viewed as a distinct class. Furthermore, defining classes, as part of the object modeling process is not that different from the traditional system analysis process, which seeks to achieve a goal (i.e. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In addition, to organizing the flow of data throughout a system, logical models also provide means of bridging the gap of communicating information to end–users in a non–technical manner while also preserving the requirements. Finally, logical models encourage creativity and reduce the risk of missing requirements, which are normally missed because of pre–occupation with technical details. Like the logical processing model a context data flow diagram defines the scope and boundary for the system and project. Because the scope of any project is always subject to change; the context diagram is also subject to constant change. A context diagram is referred to as being another representation an environmental model. Finally, the initial project scope can be defined using a context diagram. A project's scope is important in that it defines what aspect of the business a system or application is supposed to support. An event diagram represents the final area of my discussion of the Process Modeling method. An event diagram represents a context diagram that focuses on the inputs, outputs, and data store interactions for a single event. In addition, most event diagrams are also representative of a single process, which can be referenced back to the event identified for a decomposition diagram. Event diagrams therefore are valuable for identifying and addressing event driven factors, which when combined with other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Define business profiles, processes, and modeling.. A business profile is an overview that defines a company's overall functions, processes, organization, products, services, customers, suppliers, competitors, constraints, and future direction. A business process describes specific events, tasks, and desired results. To understand a company's operations, systems analysts first develop a business profile and then create a series of business models. A business model graphically represents business functions that consist of business processes such as sales, accounting, and purchasing that perform specific tasks. (Pages 10 –11) 3. Identify the main components of an information system, and describe the system's stakeholders. An information system has five key components: hardware, software, data, processes, and people. People who have an interest in an information system are called stakeholders. Stakeholder groups include the management group responsible for the system; the users, sometimes called end users, inside and outside the company who will interact with the system; and IT staff members, such as systems analysts, programmers, and network administrators who develop and support the system (Pages 8–10) 4. Explain the difference between vertical and horizontal systems packages. A horizontal system is a basic system, such as an inventory or payroll program, that can be adapted for use in many companies. Below, write your answers to Questions 1–4 (on BB/Cases). Your analysis should be based on the assumptions listed in the Syllabus. If you need to make additional assumptions to answer a question, clearly state them, logically defend them, and then proceed to answer the question accordingly. The idea is to answer the questions concisely. Double spacing is preferred, 1.5–line spacing is the minimum (consider the reader's eye strain). 1. Mark the capacity and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The capacity of the Dechaffers for the dry berries was also given as 1500 bbl/hr and once again the implied and actual utilization will be 1.0. Switching to the Wet Berries, we see that there are two Dechaffers that can each store up to 1500bbl/hr, which will add up to a capacity of 3000bbl/hr. We can calculate the implied utilization of the wet berry Dechaffer by dividing the input rate (1500bbl/hr) by the capacity (3000bbl/hr) and the actual utilization by dividing the Flow Rate (600bbl/hr) by the capacity (3000bbl/hr). The Dryers set the standard for the wet berries because they are the bottleneck of the operation. There are three dryers that can process 200bbl/hr, giving us a total capacity of 600bbl/hr. The implied utilization is not very realistic because it takes the 1500bbl/hr input rate and divides it by the 600bbl/hr capacity. The actual utilization of a bottleneck is always 1.0 because it is operating at maximum capacity. Lastly, there are three separators that have a capacity of 400bbl/hr each, giving us a total of 1200bbl/hr. The implied utilization will be discovered as 1.25 because you are taking the 1500bbl/hr input rate and dividing it by 1200bbl/hr capacity. The actual utilization can be found by 600bbl/hr (wet berries) plus 375bbl/hr (dry berries) and using them as your input rate. So you will divide the 975bbl/hr by 1200bbl/hr capacity and get .8125. 2. Enter your answer and supporting arguments for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Food Chain : Food And Agriculture Organization Of The... It is important to start with de definition of food chain, FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations) defines the food chain as responsible for the supply of food that is safe, healthy and nutritious, which is completely traceable from farm to fork (Fao.org, 2014). The food chain is reported as both a supply chain and a value chain (Havas and watts 2014). Therefore, supply chain consists of all parts, from primary producers, food processing, food distribution, food retail, food catering /hospitality to final consumers (see figure 1). On the other hand, it is important to understand the appropriate meaning of traceability as the capacity to determine the continuing location of products and to trace products back to their origin and used methods of production (Trienekens et al., 2014). Based on the supplies of traceability in the food chain, all supply chain actors have to get an internal and external traceability in order to supply whole supply chain and know who their supplier is and to whom the product is directed (see figure 2). Besides, they have to apply safe and quality management systems such as HACCP, International Standard for Auditing Food Suppliers (IFS), the British Retail Consortium (BRC), Safe Quality Food (SQF), inter alia, in order to follow the regulations and control all their operations in an efficient way (Aung and Chang 2014). The Implementation Of The Project Resource Plan As you can see from the critical path shown above, the most crucial parts of the project, are at the same time the most independent one in this type of situation. And, although they needed follow the regular flow that is because the development of the product, meaning the implementation of the rules needed to 'pull' the data from the database, can be simply verbally communicated between the Business Analyst, product owner, and the developers. While the development is under way, the rest of the team can concentrate on document preparation. This often leads to the fact that the developers are left with more time to focus on the programming part and develop a more suitable and reliable code. This is in many ways a good thing, as the requirements may change mid way, and they are left with more time to accommodate their work to the agile environment. 19 *Process flow *Please see appendence for the project resource plan. However, if the reader is new to the concept of EA, this chapter is somewhat overwhelming to understand. Nonetheless, it provides six elements of EA design; EA Frameworks, Components, Current Architecture, Future Architecture, Management Plan, and Threads. Bernard, S. A. (2012). The fascination with IT–enabled business innovation comes at a time of significant uncertainty and change as entrenched players and new entrants struggle to define a sustainable proprietary position for success in the turbulent twenty–first century. While most agree that Internet–based technologies have progressed at lightning speed since they were introduced to the business world in the early to mid–1990s, developing common standards and robust commercial technologies usually takes time. The challenge of integrating new technologies into the "legacy" of computers, networks, and systems already in place within companies adds to the problem. To achieve the ... Today, organizations around the globe rely heavily on management to ensure effective and efficient business. A wide variety of management models exist in order to accommodate different business needs. This essay will briefly discuss various management models, but will mainly focus on the Competing Values Framework (CVF) and current examples demonstrating two models within the CVF. The final model within the CVF is internal process. This model is similar to the rational goals model, but its main focus is on consolidation and continuity within the company (Boddy, 1998). Max Weber played a large role in the development of bureaucratic management within this model. Bureaucratic administration allows businesses to thrive in terms of precision, continuity, unity, and the reduction of material and personal costs, according to Weber (Weber, 1978). Though each of these models is crucial to the CVF, the remainder of this essay will focus on comparing and contrasting only the open systems model and internal process model. Internal process and open system models are located diagonally from each other on the CVF diagram. That being said, many differences exist between the two models; however, the basic management goal is similar. These two models will be analyzed based on the framework shown in diagram B. Contemporary examples, mainly Haier Power and Deloitte, but also Google and McDonalds, will exemplify each model. It is important to note that many companies don't strictly follow one model. Companies may follow certain characteristics of one model and other characteristics of another model. Every company, regardless the model of management followed, expects management to add value to the company. This is illustrated through financial statements. • 40. Marketing Model Of A Business Model A business model is a plan used by a business to generate profits while satisfying customers' needs, managing competitors, and structuring its relationships. Most business models can be illustrated diagrammatically as they show a detailed approach that the company intends to follow to achieve its objectives. There is no standard for structuring a business model, and a firm is free to utilize whichever approach it deems fit to achieve its targets. However, business model innovation is necessary to ensure that the company has an edge over competitors who will also have their own models. A business model is constructed following a feasibility analysis of a firm's target market. However, the model is created before the business plan is completed. Having conducted a feasibility analysis and established that the product or service it intends to launch is feasible, the business model aids the company to come up with a partnership model, a customer interface, distinctive resources, and an approach to create value (Kaiser 2008). In light of this factor, it is evident that any business that seeks to achieve profitability requires a business model. This paper seeks to analyze the importance of business models to businesses today. Factors that ought to be considered when developing a viable business model will be identified. The discussion will include examples of business models that have worked to the advantage of renowned brands. Importance of a Business Model A business model is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Solving And Prioritizing Cii's Problems After defining and prioritizing CII's problems, I will begin the implementation process by focusing on the goals Dr. Wachtel and I set, deciding on specific interventions, and formulating a plan to be accomplished. The three goals proposed are to reduce counselor burnout, improve client satisfaction, and increase cultural sensitivity. Due to the dynamic and intertwined nature of the problems, they may all be addressed simultaneously at one point in the process. To begin, the first intervention will focus on reducing the burn out and absenteeism, employing three different interventions. The first intervention is to hire more staff, including per diem and part time employees, to reduce the caseload of the existing clinicians. This will be measured by increasing staff by 20 percent. A second intervention, to address burnout, is to increase supervision, as measured by reducing the ratio of supervisee's to supervisors to three to one. The third intervention is to create staff process groups, where counselors can discuss concerns, general information, and even their cases. With the creation of this group, CII will have greater transparency and communication among staff and Dr. Wachtel. It is clear that the influx of clients has caused strain on the staff as they are taking on many more cases and are becoming overwhelmed. The purpose of these interventions is to increase support for the staff in a variety of ways so that everyone is able to provide quality services. To address ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
