Sreedharan did three things to get the project done. First, with infrastructure projects languishing all
over India for lack of funds, he went overseas, tapping the Japan Bank of International Cooperation
for loans to cover 60% of the cost. By comparison, it took the city of Kolkata 22 years to build its
own metro because of a paucity of funds.
Second, Sreedharan scoured the world for top companies with extensive experience in the field.
Pacific Consultants International from Japan advised on the engineering matters, Korea's Rotem and
Japan's Mitsubishi supplied the initial shipment of coaches, while France's Alstom led the
consortium responsible for the design of the automatic train control system.
Delhi Metro Rail – An Introduction
Delhi, the capital city of India, is one of the fastest growing cities in the world with a population of
13 million as reported in the Census of India Report for the year 2000. Until recently, it was perhaps
the only city of its size in the world depending almost entirely on roads as the sole mode of mass
transport. The total length of the road network in Delhi has increased from a mere 652 km in 1981 to
1122 km in 2001 and it is expected to grow to 1340 km in the year 2021. This increase in road
length is not at par with the phenomenal growth in the number of vehicles on these roads in Delhi.

As Sikh Genocide And The Sikh Massacre
as Sikh Genocide
"Never forget 1984"
Many years has been passed but still when we read the Sikh genocide in 1984, our eyes filled with
the tears.
The 1984 Sikh riots also known as the Sikh Massacre or the genocide of Sikhs, started after the
murder of Indira Gandhi, the Prime Minister of India by her own two Sikh bodyguards. The reason
behind this was to take the revenge from Mrs. Gandhi as it was her decision to have an attack on the
Golden Temple, one of the biggest holy place of the Sikh community. Her order was named as
Operation Blue Star, motivated to take out terrorists who had blocked off themselves inside the
temple. (Kundu 2017). As the result of this army attack many of the Sikh buildings of Amritsar were
destroyed and some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
People started gathering outside the hospital and chanting slogans like "KHOON KA BADLA
KHOON SE" which means "BLOOD FOR BLOOD" and "SARDAR GADDAR HAI" or "SIKH

when arrived at the scene, the people started throwing the stones at his representative. Before the
Nanavati Commission, DP Gulati belongs to Hindu religion confirmed that the crowd outside the
hospital was controlled by Arjun Das (Congress party councillor). From October 31, evidences and
police records revealed that violence against Sikhs did not result into any deaths and was just normal
violence that was only limited to the zone where the body of Indira Gandhi was kept. The Ruling
Congress party organized a careful plan and put it into action with their local followers to kill the
Sikhs of Delhi on the night of 31st October and early morning of 1st November. Congress leaders
held assemblies with the purpose of rallying local supporters to start the massacre against the Sikhs.
It is also revealed that massacre of Sikhs did not start the day of the murder of Prime Minister.
Congress leaders cleverly assembled a network of planned gangs for rallies and those same people
were responsible for the Sikh riots, according to Rajni Kothari.
The attacks on Sikhs was pre–planned and the Congress party was to use state's resources to
simplify the massacre. Delhi Transportation corporation buses were used to take

Essay On Stakeholder Analysis Of Delhi's Odd-Even Policy
Stakeholder Analysis of the Delhi's Odd Even Policy
The implementation of the odd–even policy has directly or indirectly impacted a wide variety of
people especially those living in Delhi. Due to the complexity of the demographic structure and
transportation system in Delhi, this experiment has drew intense attentions from the public and
brought pressure to the government. The citizens in Delhi were highly impacted by this drastic
measure. Meanwhile, the high court in Delhi and the Delhi government played the key roles in
determining and implementing the policy. It is crucial to understand the role of each stakeholder
played in this issue and how well their interests or concerns were addressed. More importantly,
studies were made to investigate which stakeholder has a higher level of influence in the policy
making and implementation process. This will provide important insights to the future
implementation of the policy as revealed by the government earlier. Therefore, this paper has
carefully examined the interests of three main stakeholders groups (residents in Delhi including the
minorities, Delhi government and the High Court), the impacts of policy on each group and their
level of influence in this policy.
Citizen in the capital is the largest stakeholder group in this experiment. Residents in Delhi played
the key roles in ensuring the success of the experiment. Without the cooperation given by the
residents, the experiment will not be able to carry out smoothly and

Remnants of the glorious past survive as important monuments in different parts of the city"
(Pollanki). Although Delhi has prospered as the capital of modern India, its population is spiralling
upwards due to rapid economic expansion and increased job opportunities. The downside of this
inflation, is chronic overcrowding, traffic congestion, child labour, housing shortages, pollution, and
unfortunately unfair educational opportunities to local children. Although New Delhi is a fast
growing city, some of their political opinions are outdated, like their lack of commitment to the
human right to education. Many schools around New Delhi have denied students access to their
schools. A majority of the victims in this case are children who belong to economically weaker , or
refugee families in New Delhi, and cannot provide correct papers to enter the school, some have
even been denied access for lack of hygiene. One child was denied entrance to school on complaint
of his poor hygiene and was asked to take his admission somewhere else (iGovernment). When
many of these families cannot even afford food on their table for their children, lack of hygiene
should not be a reason to deny a child their right to an education. This incident isn't the only case in
which a student was turned away from school, surveys taken around the local New Delhi schools
reported, "twenty three per cent of children stated that they have differently–abled (disabled)

Effects Of Air Pollution
Many of us don't realize that the air we are breathing could slowly be prematurely ending our life.
Air pollution in the city can affect the human health in many ways. Air pollution is when the air is
contaminated by harmful substances. This is caused by the burning of fossil fuels, industrial
processes and smoke. Air pollution is often found in poor inner city neighborhoods. With greater
amounts of air pollution comes a greater possibility of multiple health risks. Cardiovascular and
respiratory diseases, cancer and asthma are frequent health impacts that are caused from smog and
air pollution. Some of these health impacts can lead to death. According to the World Health
Organization, there are three million deaths worldwide due to air pollution. Air pollutants can be
transferred from one country to another via the wind. Due to the wind being out of our control, this
must be taken seriously in every city, state or country because it can slowly affect everyone around
it. I am going to define smog and its impacts on New Dehli, how automobiles contribute to the air
pollution and describe possible solutions to air pollution in the city.
When the sunlight and heat react with industrial emissions from power plants, factories and cars,
smog is created. In other words it is a foggy brown substance that drapes over a city's skyline like a
blanket. Smog is common in larger cities such as Los Angeles, New York, New Delhi, Beijing, and

Science and Technology in Hindi
Science writing in Hindi appears to have began in 1818 (Patariya, 2000) with the publication of a
magazine named "Hindi Digdarshan," copies of which were circulated to many schools in West
Bengal. 'Digdarshan' regularly incorporated materials on science, a trend that was not in vogue at
that time even in contemporary reputed Hindi publication 'Udant martand' (1928) credited to be the
first Hindi newspaper. Patairiya (2000) further narrates that a questionnaire related to chemistry way
published in Hindi, named, "Rasayan Prakash Prashnottar' in 1847 by Agra School Book Society.
The trend was followed with subsequent publications of 'Saral Vigyan Vitap' (1860), Sulabh Beej

During 1980's science fiction writing also got an impetus with the efforts made by Indian
Association of Science Fiction Writing (IASFS) which promoted works of science fiction writers
like Zakir Ali 'Rajnish', Zeashan Haidar Zaidy, Kalpana Kulshrestna, Bushra Alwera, Dr. Arvind
Dubey, Manish Mohan Gore, Arvind Dubey etc. Many renowned science writers also got inclined
towards science fiction writing like Shukdev Prasad, Devendra Mewadi, Arvind Mishra, Rajiva
Ranjan Prasad etc. whose works now form the corner stone of science fiction writing in Hindi.
The Terminology A widespread misunderstanding still persists among many science writers about
terminology, forms and categorization of different subgenres of science writing. With the passage of
time science writing has genuinely diversified itself into many sub genres in Hindi language too. For
example popular science writing has now completely established itself as a conspicuous and
distinguished subgenre of science writing but still today it is often mistakenly referred to as science
writing only. It is indeed science writing but a very special form of science writing which aims to
have a direct rapport with common people. As a matter of fact science writing in general is a kind of

Reasons Of The Deterioration Of Mughal Empires
The Declination of the Mughals Empire Basically, the main reason that can be the factors of the
deterioration and destruction of a government is that the lack of unity among the communities itself.
The unity among the people in particular race or civilian is crucial in order to maintain the stability
of the government. In the other words, solidarity between citizens is the core element in order to
ensure the integrity of a government. In the historical world, there are numbers of the great empires.
But, the collapse of a government is becoming a norm to be confronted. There will be no empire in
this world will stand still forever and there is no exception for the Mughal Empire of India. Mughal
empire is a great government that governs an enormous region. As a general, the Mughal empire

Delhi was to remain under Muslim rule for the next 700 years until 1857 and under British rule until
1947. A few Hindu kings who came close to liberating Delhi during this period were Rana Sanga in
1527, Vikramaditya during 1565 [the second battle of Panipat], and the Maratha leader, Shrimant
Vishwas Rao during the third battle of Panipat in 1761.
Figuratively speaking, the next Hindu head of state to actually preside over Delhi was to be the first

The Delhi Metro Project Management
.
The Delhi metro project is an exemplary tale of the way a project of that magnitude was handled. It's
the best project management carried out for a Govt. sector project, in India, which was completed in
time and within the budget. The first step in the project management of any project is to constitute a
project team. And DMRC did it exactly the way it was required.
THE TEAM (During phase 1and Phase2)
Chairman– Ramachandran
1. Managing Director – Dr. E. Sreedharan
2. Total No. of Directors – 16
3. Nominee of Govt. of India – 5
4. Nominee of Govt. of NCTD – 5 (Including MD)
5. No. of full–time functional Directors including MD – 7
DMRC appointed Sreedharan as the project manager and the Managing Director of the Delhi metro
project in November 1997. Sreedharan was a Technocrat, who had earned a reputation, during his
long stint at Indian Railways, for completing major projects within the given time and budget. Delhi
metro was just a feather added to his cap, but the biggest one. Earlier Sreedharan had successfully
completed many huge projects like repair of Pamban Bridge, konkan Railway etc.
The hiring process was slow initially as DMRC was able to recruit only 100 people; around 70% of
the staff in DMRC was on deputation from the Indian Railways.
DMRC had given Sreedharan complete freedom to select the project team. Sreedharan selected a
motivated team of professionals whom he regarded as fundamental to the success of the project.
Most of the chosen staff were between 18

Lake Delhi
For the past six years Lake Delhi looked empty and dreary, but this summer that all changed for the
better. July 24, 2010 the lake's dam burst and left mud and muck where water once flowed. Many
peoples' lives changed that day but now they celebrate and rejoice for the new lake. Sophomore
Hayley Cook (10) and her family purchased a cabin on the lake about two years ago. "I was
disappointed at first because we had a cabin with no water," Cook said. "I didn't have a fun thing to
do in the summer, but it was actually pretty fun." Her neighbors had dirt bikes, so they would go
riding where the lake had once occupied. Once the lake refilled their fun started with ease. Summer
activities kicked off as the boat settled into the water. "We tube ... Show more content on

the lake from jet skiing, water skiing, tubing, and jumping off of Engine Joe. But what favorite
activities don't come with favorite memories? "I was really ecstatic and happy," Cook said. "I went
on this 9 mile trek and you can see everyone's cabins. It was pretty cool to see all the differences
they made, and how much they spent on it (renovations)." Nostalgia plays a big role in one's life
who's grown up around the lake and it's atmosphere.
"Once it started filling up it was just so like, I don't know how to describe it," Schaul said. "It was
like going through your attic and finding your favorite toy you had as a child and just remembering
all the good times and laughter."

Title : DIALECT OF DELHI URBAN – HINGLISH
"Integrity without knowledge is weak and useless, and knowledge without integrity is dangerous
and dreadful. –Samuel Johnson
Abstract
What exactly Hinglish Dialect is?
"Hinglish" is not the inappropriate blend of English and Hindi languages. Neither it is a code
switching which is switching from one sentence in English then to another sentence in Hindi.
Although, there are not strict rules for Hinglish. But in author's opinion any sentence which has 1)
Words in these ( Hindi & English) languages 2) Grammar and sentence structure is maintained in
Hindi
3) Hinglish is very easier to learn when compared to English to the Urban people of Delhi
Etymology:
A blend of the words from "Hindi" and "English" languages.
I feel very amazed and amuse to focus on this topic ."Hinglish" is the innovative enthusiasm that I
have found and it's relatively addictive. It's a bliss to learn such innovative things . Communities in
urban areas don't speak in English except they consider it confidently . Unless & untill ,they feel
comfortable , then only they start speaking and this process can take up to several years. So what
they do is start adding up English words in their Hindi ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Importance Of Personal Liberty
Personal liberty means a bundle of rights, essential for the existence of human life. In Maneka
Gandhi v. Union of India, the Supreme Court pointed out that the expression "personal liberty" does
not mean only liberty of the persons but also liberty or rights attached to the person (Jus–personam).
A division bench of the Delhi High Court observed in AV Chardel v. Delhi University that the
expression "life and personal liberty" includes a variety of rights, which though not enumerated in
Part–III of the Constitution, can be included in various aspects of liberty provided they are necessary
for the full development of human personality. Further in Francis Coralie v. Union Territory of
Delhi, Justices PN Bhagwati, Fazal Ali, Murtaza, while stressing the quality of life and its
enjoyment within the purview of Article 21 have rightly said: "the right to life enshrined in Article
21 cannot be restricted to mere animal existence. It means something much more than just physical
survival. The right to life includes the right to live with human dignity and all that goes along with
it."
Along these lines the articulation "individual freedom" isn't restricted to the assurance of appendage
and workforce however incorporates everything basic for the happiness regarding existence with all
human respect.

It powers our houses, industries, hospitals and in fact our entire economy. Electricity (from the New
Latin ēlectricus, "amber–like) is a general term that encompasses a variety of phenomena resulting
from the presence and flow of electric charge. When we consider electricity, we usually think of
electric power, and that's how we'll use the term here. Electricity is energy, and energy can do work.
Electric power, electricity, is used to do things for us, and no modern society exists without it.
Electricity is generated at places where it is economical and advantageous to do so, and is
transported to places of use through the power grid.
Historically speaking the modern electricity industry utility system was first introduced to the world
on the opening of Thomas Edison's Pearl Street Electricity Generating Station on September 4th,
1882 at New York (United States of America). Insofar as Delhi is concerned, the position is that as
per available records, the first diesel Power Station was established in Delhi in the year 1905
when private English Company by name M/s. John Fleming was given permission to generate
electricity under the provisions of the Indian Electricity Act 1903. The above mentioned Company
was given the responsibility both of generation and distribution of power in a limited manner. That
Company after obtaining license

Yal Yale Goal
Growing up, I spent my summers in Delhi, India, the most colorful city I have ever seen. At best,
Delhi was vibrant and cheerful, full of ingenuity, energy, and things to do, smell, and taste. At worst,
it was filthy, noisy, and corrupt: begging children on the street were a daily reminder of the
imbalance of wealth and power. As a very young girl, I felt overwhelmed by India's cultural, social,
and economic diversity. Although I quickly adapted and learned to control my emotions, the feelings
from seeing poverty and discrimination stayed with me. I resolved never to forget the sense that
something needed to change, and I grew up devising and contributing to small changes. While my
childhood ideas involved cooking extra food to share with those in need or volunteering at shelters,
my interest in science has shaped the goals for my career, and in turn, my interest in Yale.
I am interested in Yale because of its philosophy of treating students as adults with specific goals
and passions. Rather than single–mindedly competing for certain grades or class rankings, I will be
able to focus on understanding and appreciating medicine in order to meet my goal of helping to
alleviate the health disparities in poverty through interdisciplinary collaboration in clinical care,
research, and policy. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through group–based classes and an atmosphere that encourages collaboration between students
and between students and faculty, I will be able to further refine the collaboration skills I cultivated
as a Course Coordinator/Head Teaching Assistant, Judo team manager, and mentor at Berkeley. I am
a more active learner in cooperative environments, and Yale's coursework model will help me
collaborate with my peers to help each other grow into physicians who will provide our patients
excellent

Delhi Metro

  • 1. Delhi Metro EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Objective: To study the financial aspects of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation. Rationale: Metro rail service in Delhi has come as a much awaited gift for the people of Delhi, which has indeed changed the transport facility of the city. It has become the "life line" of Delhi as people are dependent on Delhi Metro for commuting to different places within the city. Delhi Metro Project has been recognized all over the world for its specialty in terms of a hi–tech rail, better equipped transport system and punctuality. The project is under the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, DMRC and it deserves all the credit for transforming the transport service of the city. The report starts with the introduction of Delhi metro & man behind ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Sreedharan did three things to get the project done. First, with infrastructure projects languishing all over India for lack of funds, he went overseas, tapping the Japan Bank of International Cooperation for loans to cover 60% of the cost. By comparison, it took the city of Kolkata 22 years to build its own metro because of a paucity of funds. Second, Sreedharan scoured the world for top companies with extensive experience in the field.
