Working Title: Tower Escape
Audience:
The main audience which I intend to make it for would be teenagers (15-24) as with there being
blood in the game I cannot be for children and as well the main gender which it will be made for
will be male because they prefer violence compared to what women prefer, but women can still
play the game as there is a puzzle section which uses your brain to get to the next section of the
game. Also the social status will be C2DE because the game will be free to play because only
certain people have the luxury to buy games when they come out and also with it being free to play
it reaches a larger audience than I you had to pay for it, As well there is the psychographic which
they would fit into the belonger section as they are very brand loyal and like to stick to one place
and are also very family oriented.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
Throughout this year so far I have gained the ability to animate a video game to a good standard
because I have seen other animated video games before hand which I have taken inspiration from
because they were also made in 2D, as well as gaining skills in video game animation I know
different effects when using Photoshop which helped me to make my last project which was the
print advert I found the majority of the effects which I used YouTube to find inspiration for my final
project. With Photoshop it helped me make the advergame because I had to use the timeline
section which let you draw in pixels which made it easier for me to make the characters but I didn’t
have to make the game in detail because you cannot go in depth as if you were making a 3D
game.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept for my project which I plan on making will be a game based around trying to escape a
tower through little puzzles which get harder as you go down the tower and closer to the exit but as
you are trying to escape through the tower you have creatures trying to kill you and you have to
shoot them as you traverse your way down the tower, I have decided that I want the game to be an
FPS because you can see where you are aiming and also It will seem more realistic than If I were
to make a third person game and also I wanted to make it a fps because some of my favourite
games are fps. As well with the game concept once you have escaped you will have to continue to
get rid of the creatures in the UK and find people to help you to finally get rid of all of them around
the world. Research which I had to conduct was looking through YouTube and the internet to look
at adventure games which have already been made in the past. With me making my concept for
my project my initial idea was to have a zombie game which was to kill them and find objects but I
wanted to involve some sort of puzzle aspect to my final project.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
A way which I plan on evaluating my work would be by each day I could evaluate what I have done
in that day, with this I would analyse each piece of work which I have done. Another way which I
would evaluate my work would be by doing our weekly development diary which we have to gone
in depth about what we did in that week and talk about each individual section which we worked on
the most. This will help me in the future for projects because I will know which things I will need to
work on the most out of all and the feedback will help to make sure that I don’t leave anything out
in the future.
