This document describes the design and development of a solar-powered system to operate a sprayer for crop protection and provide house lighting. The system consists of three units: 1) a solar energy conversion and storage unit with a 17W solar panel, 12V lead-acid battery, and voltage regulator, 2) a spraying unit with a DC motor, diaphragm pump, spray tank and lance, and 3) a house lighting unit with three LED bulbs. Field tests found the solar panel's efficiency was 16% for power generation but only 7.48% for powering the motor.
