This document describes research on creating an antibacterial and UV-protective cotton fabric by coating it with herbal-synthesized silver nanoparticles. Silver nanoparticles were synthesized using extracts from coconut leaf, jackfruit leaf, and Indian gooseberry. These nanoparticles were characterized using various techniques and then deposited on cotton fabric via pad-cure multilayering or polyelectrolyte multilayering. The coated fabrics showed 99% reduction of E. coli and S. aureus bacteria and excellent UV protection with a factor of 32. The aim was to develop an eco-friendly and effective antibacterial and UV-protective cotton fabric for applications like clothing.
