2. New Health Law Draft Bill: 5 things to know
about New National Public Health Law
The process of finalizing the New Health Law Bill has been
started by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare
as well as the other concerned Government Departments.
The New Health Law Draft Bill by the Government of India
will have various provisions, including the establishment of
a four-tier health administration system with well-defined
powers to the setting up a public health cadre as well as
defining a lockdown.
Once the draft of the New Health Law Bill is ready, it will be
placed in the public domain for consultation before being
sent to the Union Cabinet.
The National Public Health Bill is expected to be introduced
in the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.

3. Shaheed Bhagat Singh Death Anniversary
2022
India's revolutionary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh was
hanged to death on March 23, 1931 along with two other
Indian freedom fighters Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram
Rajguru. This year is Shaheed Bhagat Singh's 91st death
anniversary.
The young revolutionary leaders were tried and convicted
by the British for fatally shooting British police officer John
Saunders, whom they mistook for British police
superintendent James Scott who they believed was
responsible for the death of the popular nationalist leader
Lala Lajpat Rai, who martyred after succumbing to injuries
sustained during a lathi charge.

4. CDS General Bipin Rawat among recipients
President of India Ram Nath Kovind will confer Padma Awards
2022 at a civil investiture ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan on
March 21, 2022.
The recipients of Padma Awards 2022 include CDS General Bipin
Rawat (posthumous) and Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Among the Padma Awardees, four will be conferred with Padma
Vibhushan, 17 will be given Padma Bhushan and 107 will be
awarded Padma Shri.
Padma Awards are conferred in three categories- Padma
Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan, and Padma Shri.
The prestigious awards in India are given in various disciplines
and fields such as social work, art, science and engineering,
public affairs, medicine, trade and industry, civil service,
education, sports, etc.

5. India-Australia Summit: PM Modi, Scott
Morrison to hold 2nd virtual summit today
PM Narendra Modi and the Prime Minister of Australia Scott
Morrison will hold the 2nd India-Australia Summit in a
virtual mode on March 21, 2022.
The summit has come two years after the historic first
virtual summit which was held in June 2020 when the two
nations had elevated their relationship to a comprehensive
strategic partnership.
During India-Australia Virtual Summit 2022, the leaders of
the two countries are likely to take stock of the progress
made on various initiatives under the ‘Comprehensive
Strategic Partnership’.

6. India Japan Summit 2022: Japan to invest 5
trillion Yen in India in next five years, says PM
Modi
The 14th India-Japan Annual Summit was held in New Delhi, India on
March 19, 2022. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and visiting
Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida participated in the summit
along with a group of senior officials.
Speaking at the India-Japan Economic Forum, PM Modi said, "
Progress, prosperity and partnership are the basis of India-Japan
relations.
We are committed to providing all possible support to Japanese
companies in India.“
The two leaders also witnessed exchanging of three MoUs between
India and Japan in the areas of capacity building, cybersecurity and
information sharing and cooperation.
The Japanese Prime Minister welcomed the MoUs saying that India is a
very important partner for Japan and said that they will be holding the
next India-Japan talks as soon as possible.
