A historical agreement was signed between India and US
Government for 34 million dollars
On February 14, US President Joe Biden acknowledges Air
India’s purchase of 220 Boeing aircraft
This has been done to strengthen economic partnerships

3. Constitution Day
November 26 is being observed as Constitution Day to
commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India.
The Constitution Day is also known as Samvidhan Divas or
National Law Day.
The Constitution of India is the longest written constitution
of any country that holds the supreme law of India and lays
down the structure, framework, fundamental rights, duties
of citizens, powers and duties of government institutions.
The significance of celebrating Constitution Day is to pay
tribute to the Father of Indian Constitution B R Ambedkar
and reaffirm our commitment to uphold and adhere to the
ideology of the Indian Constitution.

4. Vibrant Village Programme to be
Implemented for Border States
On February 15, the Union Cabinet took the decision to
enhance border security levels for an amount of Rs 4800
crores.
The scheme will cover four states and one Union Territory
for financial years 2022-23 to 2025-26.
The Cabinet also gave approval for establishing 2 lakhs of
multipurpose primary agriculture credit societies, along with
dairy and fishery cooperatives in the next five years at a cost
price of Rs 20 lakh crores.

5. American Politician Nikki Haley's Decision for
Presidential Bid 2024
UN Representative Nikki Haley has publicly announced that she
will be participating in the US Elections and seeking Presidential
nomination for 2024
Talking about her previous endeavours, this 51-year-old woman
has served as the Governor of South Carolina and as an
Ambassador to the United Nations
She announces that it is time for a new generation to replace the
old functioning of the nation. She posted a video saying that she
will be running for Republican Presidency for 2024

6. Before the inaugural ceremony of the Women’s Premier League
season, Sania Mirza has been appointed as the mentor of the RCB
Women’s Team.
Sports icon Sania Mirza expressed herself by saying that she has
been in this profession for 20 years and now she will be helping
young girls

7. Medicine Delivery in Kolkata through Drones
Drone services have been successfully launched to deliver various
medications
After close introspection of the heavy traffic in the busy city of Kolkata
& Howrah, it was decided to facilitate medicine delivery with the help
of air routes
The Associate Vice President of Technit Space & Aero Works startup
revealed that 8 more places have been selected for drone delivery of
medicines within the next few days.

8. ASI Approves Archaeological Excavations at
31 Sites
The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) recently shared a list of
sites which include the Gulf of Kutch, Gujarat and the Gomti
River in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh.
Excavations are to be performed in 31 sites in total. Several state
government sites are 16 in number and universities are also
mentioned on the list. It comprises excavation projects in
Pratima Garh and surrounding areas and Vembakottai in Tamil
Nadu.
This is going to be undertaken by the respective state
governments. One of the regions selected for the mission is
Harwan in Srinagar, J&K. This area is an important part of
Buddhist history as it is believed that the 4th Buddhist council
was held here in the 1st or 2nd century CE.

9. Chetan Sharma Resigns from the Chief
Selector post of BCCI
The Indian Cricketer Chetan Sharma submitted his resignation
letter to Jay Shah, secretary of BCCI and instantly received
approval for the same.
In February 2023, he came under severe attack after he
reveals confidential information about the Indian Cricket
Team.
In a sting operation held by Zee News, he is seen questioning
famous cricket personalities named Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma,
etc.
He claimed that these cricketers take injections for fitness
and talked about their interpersonal relationships.

10. Neal Mohan Becomes the new CEO of YouTube
Indian-American Neal Mohan has been appointed as the new CEO of
the famous global online platform YouTube and replaced Susan
Wojcicki.
Susan, the former head decided to step down from her post on
February 16 after serving for 9 years.
Neal is a graduate of Electrical Engineering from Stanford University,
California.
Before acquiring this new position, he has been working as the Chief
Product Officer of YouTube since the year 2015.
As per estimation, his net worth is nearly 150 million dollars. Once he
was offered a remarkable amount of 100 million dollars from Google
so he does not opt for the top position being offered to him by
Twitter.

11. Indian Air Force installed the ‘Vayulink’ system
At the Aero India 2023 show, the Indian Air Force (IAF)
showcased this innovative solution for pilots named the
‘Vayulink’ platform.
It is an ad-hoc data link communication system which can
provide information related to the position of aircraft on
installation. This device will prove beneficial for the Air Force,
Army and Navy and can also assist in government services.
It is claimed that this exclusive technology ‘Vayulink’ has been
launched to prevent aircraft collisions, provide weather data
reports to pilots, etc.

12. Economic Times Global Summit to be
Addressed by PM Modi today
PM Modi gave a speech at the ET Global Summit 2023 event
today i.e. February 17, 2023.
There were participants from all around the globe.
This was a two-day event held in New Delhi.
Also, the ET Global Summit is conducted every year by the Times
Group.
Over 200 business leaders spoke across 40 sessions held at the
international event.
The themes were Resilience, Influence and Dominance Several
leaders, policymakers, academicians and corporate came together
on a common platform.
They seek to provide various solutions to major economic
challenges faced all over the world.

13. 49th meeting of GST Council
The GST Council makes recommendations to the Union
Government and the State Government based on the issues
related to GST.
There are 33 members of the council.
Of these 31 are from states and UT and 2 are from the
centre.
The 49th meeting of the council was recently chaired by
Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitaraman.
Outstanding GST cess dues to the states were cleared.

14. Manipur hosts B20 Conference
On the sidelines of the G20 summit, the State of Manipur
hosted the B20 conference.
The theme of the conference was Sustainable Growth and
Development.
It was in line with the theme of the G20 summit, which is One
Earth One Family One Future.
More than 23 countries attended the conference. Union
Ministers for State for Commerce, External Affairs, etc
attended the conference.
B20 means Business 20.
It is one of the engagement groups of G20.

15. One Year of India-UAE CEPA
India and UAE signed the Comprehensive Economic Partnership
Agreement in 2022.
In 2023, the countries celebrated one year of signing the agreement
recently.
CEPA is a Free Trade Agreement.
With UAE, India signed CEPA on agriculture, taxation, customs valuation,
trade in goods, import licensing, export subsidies, non-tariff measures,
intellectual property, dispute settlement, MSME, digital trade, etc.
The countries signed the agreement on February 18, 2022, during a
virtual summit held between Indian PM Modi and the UAE President
Zayed Al Nahyan.

16. In 2023, World Pangolin Day is celebrated on February 18.
Every year the day is celebrated on the third Saturday of
February month.
The main objective of the celebration is to create awareness
about the Pangolin population decline.
The population of Pangolin are decreasing rapidly in Africa
and Asia.
The main reason for the decline is their medicinal value.
Pangolin scales have several medicinal properties.

17. Qatar lifts temporary ban on Indian Frozen
Seafood
In November 2022, Qatar detected Vibrio Cholera in Indian
consignments.
Following this, the country banned seafood from India. This was
done just before the FIFA world cup.
Qatar hosted the 2022 FIFA and testing laboratories were
occupied with FIFA-related assignments.
Due to a lack of testing laboratories, Qatar banned seafood from
India.
Recently, China too lifted its ban on Indian sea foods.
China banned seafood imports from India in 2020.
According to China, there were COVID traces on the seafood
from India.

18. NASSCOM Report on AI skill penetration
The National Association of Software and Services Companies,
NASSCOM released a report on “Artificial Intelligence
Penetration”.
The report was launched along with DRAUP and SALESFORCE.
According to the report, the AI penetration of India is 3.09.
This is the highest among all G20 countries and OECD
countries.
The report also says India will have more than one million AI
professionals by 2024.

19. Ethanol interest subvention scheme- Updates
The Government of India recently approved nine ethanol
blending projects.
These projects are to be implemented under the Ethanol
Interest Subvention Scheme.
The newly added projects are expected to produce 35 crore
litres of ethanol.
Of these nine, three are molasses based and five are grain
based.
Around Rs, 1,034 crores of investments are expected on these
projects.
Also, the projects will create hundreds of employment
opportunities.

20. BEL and Israel Aerospace to form JV
The Bharat Electronics Limited operating under the
defence ministry recently signed a Memorandum of
Understanding with the Israel Aerospace Industries
(IAI) at the Aero India Air Show.
According to the agreement, BEL and IAI will
establish a joint venture. The JV will provide support
to the missile defence system of the country.
The JV will produce advanced phased array radar,
interceptors, launchers, etc.
These are all the supporting systems of a missile. The
JV will mainly focus on MRSAM.
