2. High-Level Committee Submits Report On One Nation One
Election To President Droupadi Murmu
A High-Level Committee today submitted its report on One Nation
One Election to President Droupadi Murmu in New Delhi.
The High-Level Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of
former President Ram Nath Kovind submitted its report to President
Droupadi Murmu.
The Report was submitted in the presence of Union Home Minister
Amit Shah, Law and Justice Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, former
Chairman of the 15th Finance Commission NK Singh and others.
According to the Law and Justice Ministry, One Nation One Election
is core to Aspirational India. It said, report comprising of 18 thousand
626 pages is outcome of extensive consultations with stakeholders,
experts and research of 191 days.

Science and Technology Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh has hailed
India’s role in both domestic and global science advancements
over the past decade.
Launching the report titled – A Decade of Science-Technology
Panorama for Aatmanirbhar Bharat in New Delhi, Dr. Singh
emphasized India’s prowess in space exploration, citing
achievements such as Chandrayaan and Aditya L-1, which have
propelled the nation into the global spotlight.
Dr. Singh expressed pride in India’s imminent Gaganyaan
mission which promises to further elevate the country’s status
in space exploration.

4. Passing Out Parade Of Third Batch Of
Agniveers To Be Held At INS Chilka In Odisha
The Passing Out Parade of the third batch of Agniveers will be held
at INS Chilka in Odisha tomorrow.
Defence Ministry said, the Passing Out Parade marks the
successful culmination of training of around two thousand 600
Agniveers, including women Agniveers who have undergone
rigorous training at Chilka.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral R Hari Kumar will be the Chief
Guest and review the post sunset Passing Out Parade.
The Ministry said, this momentous event will be witnessed by the
family members of the passing out Agniveer course.
Besides this, various high achiever veterans and sports personalities
will also be present during the ceremony inspiring the Agniveers
with their remarkable achievements.

5. I&B Ministry Blocks 18 Over Top, OTT Platforms For Obscene And
Vulgar Content
Information and Broadcasting Ministry has blocked 18 Over the
top, OTT platforms for obscene and vulgar content.
This include Dreams Films, Hunters, Hot Shots VIP, Prime Play
and Uncut Adda. Nineteen websites, ten apps and 57 social
media accounts associated with these platforms have been
disabled for public access in India.
The decision was taken under the provisions of the Information
Technology Act, 2000 in consultation with other Ministries and
domain experts specializing in media and entertainment,
women’s rights, and child rights.

6. Health Ministry Terms Media Reports
Claiming That There Are No NEET
Examination Centres In Northeast As False
The Union Health Ministry has termed the media reports
claiming that there is no National Entrance cum Eligibility
Test – Master of Dental Surgery, NEET MDS examination
centres in the Northeastern States as false.
The Ministry stated that there are examination centres in
Northeastern States which are allotted in Shillong,
Naharlagun, Kohima, Aizawl, Guwahati and Kolkata.
It said, moreover, in the second application window for
NEET-MDS 2024 which closed on the 11th of this month,
only 560 candidates have registered.

7. Heavy Industries Ministry Announces Electric
Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024
The Heavy Industries Ministry has announced the Electric
Mobility Promotion Scheme 2024 to accelerate the adoption of
Electronic Vehicles (EVs) in India.
The Ministry said that a total outlay of 500 crore rupees will be
implemented for four months under the scheme. It will run from
1st of the next month until July.
It added that only electric two-wheelers (e-2W) and electric
three-wheelers (e-3W) will be eligible under the scheme,
including registered e-rickshaws, e-carts and L5 automobiles.
Furthermore, only EVs fitted with advanced batteries will be
subject to incentives to encourage the growth of advanced
technologies.

8. The 12th edition of the India-Italy Military Cooperation Group
(MCG) meeting concluded in New Delhi yesterday.
During the two-day meeting, both sides held discussions on
new initiatives to further enhance defence cooperation and
military-to-military level exchange between the two countries.
The meeting was held between the Directorate of International
Defence Cooperation, Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff
and the Military Policy and Planning Division of the Italian
Defence General Staff.

9. India has signed a 181 million dollars loan with the Asian
Development Bank (ADB) to improve urban livability and
mobility in Ahmedabad.
The loan will fund development in areas transitioning from
rural to urban, called Peri-urban areas.
The Finance Ministry said under the Ahmedabad Peri-urban
Livability Improvement Project, 166 km of water distribution
network, 126 km of climate-resilient stormwater drainage, 300
km of sewerage systems, and four sewage treatment plants will
be constructed.

Defence Relationship
Pentagon has said that there is a paradigm change and
incredible momentum in the US-India defence relationship.
Director for South Asia in the office of Secretary of Defense US
Siddharth Iyer said that the relationship now is defined more by
the pace and the sort of overall trajectory rather than by
differences and divergences on key issues.
He said this at a round table conference on the future of the US-
India Defence Partnership with a focus on technology
collaboration and maritime strategy.

11. Nepal PM Wins Parliamentary Vote Of
Confidence
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ received 157
votes in his favour in the floor test in Nepal Parliament on
Tuesday.
CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Dahal had presented a
proposal in the House of Representatives as per Rule 155 of
the House of Representatives Regulations, 2079 BS, seeking a
vote of confidence under Article 100, Sub-Article (2) of the
Constitution of Nepal.
A new alliance was forged by Prachanda with K P Sharma
Oli-led CPN (UML), and other three parties namely, Rashtriya

12. Putin Warns The West, Says Russia Ready For
Nuclear War
Russian President Vladimir Putin warned the West that Russia is
technically ready for nuclear war and if the U.S. sent troops to Ukraine
it would be considered a significant escalation of the war.
Speaking to state media on Wednesday, Mr. Putin said the nuclear war
scenario, however, is not imminent.
The statement comes after US President Joe Biden announced a $300
million emergency weapons package to Ukraine yesterday and days
before the upcoming election in Russia which is certain to give
President Putin another six years in power.
