Founders Game Essay
The season was coming to a close, and at this thought, my chest contracted and my eyes fluttered.
The Founders League Tournament was around the corner, and the coaches were beginning to
assemble the all stars of each event. Although I was steadily improving my 100m time, the cutoff for
running in Founders was at 11.2, and I was off by a tenth of a second. My shoulders slumped and
the breeze from the wind hit the back of my neck as my head hung loose from my body. Although
disheartened, I was chosen to be in the 4x100 relay team to run at Founders, bringing my head back
up. This year, Taft would host Founders, giving us a home field edge. As the date came closer,
practices intensified, but my legs felt looser and stronger than ever. Before ... Show more content on

We were out for vengeance, and as the first heat came to a close, the three remaining teams lined up.
Our team was Brandon Reid starting off the blocks, Isaiah running the second leg, me securing the
third, and Bawa trying to end the race in strong fashion. As I loosened my legs up, the gun sounded,
and I watched Brandon get off to a quick start. Before I knew it, Isaiah was 10m behind me and was
ready to pass the baton. As I grabbed the baton from Isaiah, I noticed I was a few meters behind a
kid from Avon. Never, ever again I thought. My legs planted and exploded off the ground in a
simultaneous motion. I was like a cheetah chasing after a gazelle. As the wind blew through my
cleanly cut hair, I began to close the gap between myself and the man ahead. In the closing 20m, I
tried my hardest to catch the Avon kid, but I couldn't. As I passed the baton to Bawa, my heart sank.
As my chin dipped to my chest so I could only notice the ground, I realized I did not run the fastest
100m. At the end of the race, we finished second behind Avon, again. My arms tensed and my
stomach dropped. Losing to Avon was the worst possible ending to my track season. However, my
head would be picked up by a more important event that followed days after the Founders League
Tournament.
Before the season ends, it is tradition that we have one final practice in which we vote for captains.
At the beginning of track, I was not sure if I wanted to run again next year, but by the end of the

Kenneth Lay, The Founder Of Enron
Kenneth lay, the founder of Enron, did not start his life as a deceiving criminal. He was born in
Missouri in 1942. He went to school at the university of Missouri where he got a master's degree in
economics. After serving briefly in the us navy he got into the Gas business starting a career
working for Exxon predecessor Humble Oil & Refining. He quickly moved up the ladder and found
himself as president and CEO of Houston Natural Gas Co in 1981. Four years later his company
merged with InterNorth, a pipeline company from Nebraska, and Enron was born. Kenneth Lay was
made CEO of Enron not long after the merger. (1)
Enron went into debt during the merger. Enron right from the start was forced to come up with a
new way to make money and pay off their debts. Enron shortly after lost its exclusive pipeline rights
and Kenneth Lay had a huge problem and need a solution, he enlisted the help of Jeremey Skilling
from Mckinsey & Co to help come up with a solution. His solution was to build a 'Gas Bank'. This
was a concept that Enron would buy gas from network suppliers then sell it directly to consumers
under a contract which would guarantee supply and price. This revolutionary idea lead to Skilling's
Employment at Enron in 1990 in a new division called Enron Finance Corp. Enron Finance Corp.

to dominate the market and with such market power they were able predict future prices

NOI Founder
The NOI founder was Wallace D. Fard, he carefully blended tenets of Orthodox Islam with anti–
white doctrine that resonated with the psychological and social needs of the economically poor
African Americans. His followers were frustrated with traditional religions inability to create change
in their lives; these people were acutely aware of the effects of racism on their civic and economic
opportunities.
The NOI grew slowly and spread throughout various cities –– however, its membership was very
small, for the most part, considered an obscure religion, and did not attract much attention.
However, this began to change when a NOI minister named Malcolm X became involved; he
revitalized and headed mosques in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York. ... Show more content on

This led to a conviction for draft evasion; he served three years in federal prison. His bold
anarchistic stand earned him martyr status among the faithful and helped solidify his position in the
NOI community, where competition for leadership was constant. When released from prison in
1946, Elijah returned to Chicago; he then used his enhanced personal authority to begin rebuilding
the NOI, which had suffered during his interment.
While in prison, Elijah observed that through cooperation, the prisoners were able to produce the
food needed to feed the prison population. One of the NOI goals was to be racially self–reliant,
because of his prison experience; Elijah soon established farms, dairies, retail food outlets, and a
number of small Muslim–owned businesses. Elijah Mohammed continued to be the leader of the
NOI until his death in 1975.
Muhammad had named his son Wallace Muhammad as his successor, and the NOI faithful united
around his leadership. However, Wallace soon announced a new direction for the Nation of Islam,
one more closely aligned with Sunni Islam. The NOI downplayed its anti–white rhetoric and rather
than abstaining from white politics, voting and political participation was encouraged. In 1976,
Wallace changed the name of the group to the World Community of Islam in the West (WCIW).
Because of the numerous reformed ideologies, the Nation of Islam and its unique beliefs was
considered to be no

The Founder Movie Analysis
Set in 1954, The Founder is a 2016 American biographical drama film that tells the true story of Ray
Kroc's involvement in the creation of the McDonald's fast food chain. The movie begins with Ray
Kroc, played by Michael Keaton, a struggling salesman who seems unsatisfied in his simple,
unchanging life. He goes from restaurant to restaurant in the hopes of selling Prince Castle Multi–
Mixer milkshake mixers. Every restaurant he tries to sell to is characterised by slow service, tedious
serving methods and a customer base of predominately obnoxious and unruly teenagers. After
receiving an exceptionally large order from a restaurant called McDonald's, Ray decides to travels to
California to personally deliver the mixers. It's at this point that he comes across something that
changes his life, the first McDonald's. From the moment he arrives there, he realises that it is unlike
any of the humdrum uninventive drive–throughs he is used to. Firstly, customers do not wait in their
cars to be served, but rather they wait in neat lines to order their food from a serving window. He
orders a burger, soda and fries for 35 cents and within seconds is served his food in a disposable
paper bag, which he is able to eat anywhere he pleases. Whilst eating his food, he meets the two
brothers that started the company, Mac and Dick McDonald (played by John Carroll Lynch and Nick
Offerman). They offer him a tour around the restaurant and he is amazed by the revolutionary
efficiency with which they operate. Ray becomes captivated by this thriving business and from the
brothers, learns as much as he can about McDonald's. Unable to stop thinking about McDonald's,
Ray realises that he wants to franchise it. After multiple discussions with the brothers, he is finally
able to convince them to allow him to control the franchising of McDonald's, whilst assuring them
that they will retain full control over every decision made. He works persistently to make the
McDonald's franchises hugely successful, growing the company to a multimillion dollar company,
all the while gaining more control over McDonald's as a whole. As the success of the business
grows it fuels his ambition and ego. He becomes selfish, divorcing his wife and looking for ways

The Founder Of Granite Rock Co
Arthur Roberts Wilson, the founder of Granite Rock Co., had started the business in 1900 with a
small labor force who mined the quarries using sledge hammers and hauled it out manually.
(Anfuso, 1994) In the 1980s, a new strategy was born just when the company looked to be doing
good business. Bruce W. Woolpert, A.R Wilson's grandson became the CEO of Granite Rock Co.
and led to the makeover of the long–established company. (Harold Koontz, 2006) The firm is based
at Watsonville, California and it employs about 400 people serving the construction industry in
Northern California. Today they use advanced equipment necessary for the quarry industry like,
automated trucks, large crushers, and modern material handling systems. (Anfuso, 1994) ... Show

(Jill Griffin, 2002) Here the catalytic mechanism redistributes the power so that it benefits the entire
system which includes the company as well as the customer but this often creates an uncomfortable
situation for the company. (HBR: Turning Goals) At the bottom of each invoice was written "If you
are not satisfied for any reason, don't pay us for it. Simply scratch out the line item, write a brief
note about the problem, and return a copy of this invoice along with your check for the balance."
(HBR: Turning Goals) This meant that the customer had the complete power to pay as per his
satisfaction level and did not have to return the product. Granite Rock Co. knew that 90% of the
customers don't complain and they will go away hence losing the customer without knowing the
reason. This method was a simple strategy they came up with for the customers to voice their
problems which helped the organization act upon them. (Jill Griffin, 2002)
To achieve a BHAG requires the complete commitment of the employees towards it. Woolpert did
not know how the employees would confront a customer doing a short pay. So, before Woolpert put
into action this policy, he made sure to go and talk to his employees to know what they felt about it.
He made sure that the employees feel that it is immoral for them to ask the customers to pay for
some product that didn't meet their expectations. He asked them whether

Lincoln Company Plan For Achieving High Worker Productivity
1. According to the usual measures of success, Lincoln has been a successful company. It 's market
share is stable and productivity of the company per employee is well over average, more than twice
of his contemporaries; claimed by the Founder. Many college management texts refer to the Lincoln
Company plan as a model for achieving high worker productivity.
Lincoln Electric was distinguished from its contemporaries, when as the head of the firm, asked the
employees to choose representatives to a committee to advise him on company operations; which
was been referred to as Advisory Board.
Management style and beliefs was second to none among its contemporaries. Such belief that
customer 's interests should be the first goal of the company; that is customers should come first and
not the stockholders. Labour and management are a part of one organization, in which they must and
should cooperate fully and work happily together. Not as warring camp mates but as a part of a
united entity. Each worker proceeds with his task as at due thoughtfully, not engaging in idle
chatting but busy. They are efficient in discharging their duties and give no room for wastage in the
company. A typical employee at Lincoln company earns about twice as much as other factory
workers, because it is part of the founder 's belief that earnings of each employee must be in
accordance with his accomplishment. The founder also believe that complete honesty and mutual
understanding must be between the

innovative and intelligent thinker. He tested so well in school that he was proposed to skip ahead,
but his parent declined. While Steve attended Homestead High School, he met Steve Wozniak.
Wozniak eventually became Jobs future partner and co–founder of Apple. In a 2007 interview with
PC World, Steve Wozniak told of how he and Jobs worked together so well: "We both loved
electronics and the way we used to hook up digital chips," Wozniak said. "Very few people,
especially back then, had any idea what chips were, how they worked and what they could do. I had
designed many computers, so I was way ahead of him in electronics and computer design, but we
still had common interests. We both had pretty much sort of an independent attitude about things in
the world..." They went on to be one of the most innovative partners of our time. Upon graduation,
Jobs attended Reed College in Portland Oregon. Realizing it wasn't for him, he dropped out of

The Founder is a Non–fictional movie as it is based on the story of MacDonald's, and how it rose to
the top. The story starts off with a small business owner by the name of Ray Kroc, we see how he
struggles to sell his product day to day until on day when two brothers place an order for eight of
Ray's milkshake mixers, this leaves Ray curious and thus he goes to investigate how a small shop
could possibly require eight multi milkshake mixers. This leads ray to find a one of a kind
revolutionary fast food restaurant, whereby you don't get served at your cars window like all the

This would've been a good skill for the brothers to have as it would've prevented to conflict between
them and RAY to rise to the level that it did, however there is a point that can be argued whereby
Ray was forced to take the action that he did due the to brothers negligence to compromise and work
with Ray to build up the business as a globally known brand, instead it appears as if the conflict
builds up as a result of the owners in this case almost adding fuel to the fire, to metaphorically
speak, instead Ray ended buying the brothers out for one million each respectfully, the total amount
that Ray actually paid was two point seven million but this was before tax obviously, at the time this
was a massive amount of money and Ray actually had to borrow money from multiple sources in
order to meet the demands, which actually included the brothers maintaining ownership of their
original stand. It is actually also rumored that Ray agreed to another demand made by the brothers
that they maintain 1% of the businesses annual earnings, it was also rumored that Ray could not
agree to this on paper but only on a hand shake as the investors that Ray had lined up would not
agree to this condition being in writing. This just shows you what will happen if you do not have

Forced Founders Book Review
"Forced Founders Indians, Debtors, Slaves & the Making of the American Revolution in America"
by Woody Holton is a literary illustration that provides a look into colonial life in Virginia during
British rule in the United States. The author, Woody Holton, presents his viewpoints on issues
involving the fledgling state of Virginia and the difficulties that occurred with the expansion of
Native Americans into the Eastern land. Holton also examines the effect of Colonists land
distribution in the West. He highlights the influence of growing debts between colonial farmers and
British merchants, and how the boycotts were of significance to the beginning of the Revolutionary
War. Holton goes into great detail concerning ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Holton went on to point out how there were revolts against the Native Americans and how they
sought to persuade the Privy Council that they should nullify the King's Proclamation. These revolts
further touched off an initiative where political leaders realized the need for independence from
England.
Another aspect that Holton examines was the number of boycotts on English goods. The financial
goals of the colonies to England were the production of certain luxury items that could only be
produced in the colonies; that included cotton, tobacco, and indigo, all of which were considerable
revenue–makers for both the colonists and their British counterparts. These boycotts caused farmers
great financial losses as they described in an anonymous essay that appeared in the March 1776
Virginia Gazette as "the slaves of Britain." (Holton 46).
While Woody Holton's Forced Founders was a very detailed, at times overly so, offering which
opened up a window into the lives of Virginians in colonial times. It provided an examination into
the intricacies and ramifications of what in turn resulted in the Revolutionary

The Executive And Founder Of Growing Places
Background Information
History
Evan Breyer is the chairman and founder of Growing Places. Growing Places offered on–site
childcare and preschool classes for 60 companies in the mid–western U.S. At the early stage of the
company, the revenue was not notable. "Each quarter seemed as though it might be the last," Evan
said. Therefore, they hired Rob Miranda, the CEO of Growing Places.
Development
Rob Miranda, a little restless, had entrepreneur mind set. He brought some important innovations to
the company. His entrepreneurial vision came with an abrasive personality and some disregard for
social convention. However, he was not emotional intelligence. His communication style was
difficult to be accepted by others.
The board of Growing Places came up with an idea of providing scholarships for kids whose
families demonstrated financial need, and a corporate sponsor would be a good way to pay for the
scholarships. The company came to Thrivand, which was a maker of infant formulas, cereals, and
beginners' foods. Thrivand was very interested in the sponsor idea, its head of PR, Delores Dayton
came to Dublin to see Growing Places. During her visited in Growing Places, a local reporter was
tagged along for the tour. Delores was very interested in the company asked Rob some questions.
However, Rob's respond was impropriate. "What gets me, though, is how long some of these kids
nurse. If they're old enough to ask for a Coke, it's time to move on."

Indian's Tools: Founders of Spain
When Columbus arrived to the Americas in 1492 and discovered the so–called "new world", Spain
transformed it roots of a country in debt into a massive empire of hunter of the resources that the
new world had. With Hernando, Cortes' conquest of the Mexica and Fernando Pizarro's conquest of
the Incas Spain's eyes turned to the Atlantic direction. Spain began to send conquistadors to the land
of "resources" to obtain all the resources possible. Peru as Mexico did become viceroyalty, a region
control by the direct representative of the king, a viceroy. Viceroyalty were the places where Spain
displaced most of it attention because those places provided the material such as Gold, silver, iron,
corn, potatoes, and many more, which they were more interesting in. These specific places provided

Morris Fuller Beton and Typeface News Gothic
Morris Fuller Beton creator of the Typeface News Gothic as well as many other typefaces was born
in the year of 1844 in Little falls New Jersey. He was the son of Linn Boyd Beton an American
engineer who created the ATF (American Type Founders Company) in the early 1892's.
Morris Fuller's father was an inventor and discovered many different ways to use and create
typefaces, his most successfulness invention was a pantographic punch–cutting machine, this
invention took the world of typography to the next level and created a way of industrializing the
make, design and the actual production of typefaces. Fuller's father created a mechanism that made
the proses easier. The old way of creating a typeface took too long and one could not get the
variations of size or width one could get with the use of the machine. Now the new way of
developing typefaces has changed and has separated the typefaces and turned them into fonts as they
still stand today but only today there are much more and are produced in a new much better scale.
This Machine opened many doors that led to other great future ideas such as Ottmar Mergenthaler's
Linotype Machine in 1886, in the beginning of 20th century there were more and more typefaces
that started to appear and that had been drawn by upcoming designers it was a trend and all wanted
to try it out and all was produced by separate punch cutters an idea that Linn Boyd Benton began

American Founders Rights
The American Founders, and the American individuals by and large did not put stock in a lord.
Individuals required not exclusively to be free from dread of what rulers may do to them. The
Founders trusted that freedom was fundamental to human advance, and that we as a whole have
characteristic rights to settle on choices about ourselves and our property rights. The general
population themselves have a voice, and need not just submit to rulers who disregard their freedoms.
In the event that there were no ruler, the establishing fathers couldn't settle on an unadulterated vote

The Founders' test, as they based on their involvement with a national government under the
Articles of Confederation, was to build up an administration that was not all that intense that
individuals could utilize it to seek after their own advantages to the detriment of other individuals'
rights. Therefore, they settled on what is known as an established republic. That is the reason they
separated our administration's energy between official, authoritative, and legal branches. It is
additionally why they split Congress into two bodies. The Founders enabled this Congress to make
laws, yet gave the energy of directing those laws to the president and the official branch. Isolate
from these was the Supreme Court, its individuals selected by the president yet with the Senate's
endorsement. The Constitution was designed with the goal that the contending desire of government
authorities and in addition the contending aspirations of various branches and levels of government
would work to frame an arrangement of balanced governance.
Similarly vital with these balanced governance, is the guideline communicated in the Preamble of
the Constitution itself. "We the People... do appoint and build up this Constitution for the United
States of America." The Founders realized that all real government

The Continued Influence Of The Founders
The continued influence of the founders.
The founders have played a major part in the culture of the company. Furthermore, a lot of the
policies and procedures put in place by the founders are still core values and part of the
organizational culture of the business today. From the case study, it would seem that the company
has an innovative culture to some extent. There is a small hierarchy of management but employees
are encouraged to bring their ideas to the advisory board who will then discuss these ideas with top
management. This is furthermore encouraged by an open door policy.
The Golden Rule
There is no clear golden rule mentioned in the case study but I would think it's the attitude towards
the customer. The customer always comes first. And the customer is the reason the company exists.
Incentive management plan
The company also has a people–oriented culture. Employees are given an incentive based on
performance and not based on their title. Through this incentive plan, the employees are more
motivated and eager to do their work to the best of their ability. Thereby increasing their
productivity and their contribution to the overall success of the business. Furthermore, stocks
options were also made available to all employees.

Memo– Analysis of Rhetorical Situation
When analyzing the rhetorical situation of the Callahan Auto Parts memo there are six elements of
the situation to be discussed: topic, purpose, speaker, audience, context, and culture. The topic of
this memo is informing the employees of the upcoming retirement of the CEO/founder. The purpose
is to inform the staff kindly about the upcoming change to head off any hesitation from the staff
about Tommy Boy taking over and ensure a smooth transition occurs. The speaker is the founder
and long–time CEO of the auto parts store. The audience is the staff and employees of the store,
after they read the memo the goal is that they feel a little bit more at ease and less hesitant going into
the change. They should also know how to handle the change over and what will partake while it
occurs. The context of the memo is that me the founder is leaving and someone else is taking over
that has less experience. I know before writing the memo the employees are probably going to be
hesitant about the change because of Tommy Boy's lack of experience. The culture of the group is
that they are a close community that feels comfortable with what is going on now.

Friedrich Froebel, Founder of Kindergarten
Friedrich Froebel, Founder of Kindergarten
Friedrich Froebel was a German educator of the nineteenth century who developed an Idealist
philosophy of early childhood education. He established kindergarten and education for four and
five–year–old children. Kindergarten is now a part of education worldwide. Friedrich Froebel was
born in the small town of Oberwiessbach, Germany in 1782. His mother died when he was a baby.
His father remarried, but Froebel never liked his stepmother. His feeling of rejection and isolation
remained with him for life. This had a strong effect on his theory of early childhood education. He
believed the kindergarten teacher should be loving, kind and motherly. Froebel also had an
unsatisfactory relationship ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This word expressed Froebel's vision for early childhood education: "Children are like tiny flowers;
they are varied and need care, but each is beautiful alone and glorious when seen in the community
of peers" (Smith, 1999, ¶ 6). He used play, songs, stories, and activities to establish an educational
environment in which children, by their own activity, could learn and develop. According to
Froebel, this meant that children, in their development, would learn to follow the "divinely
established laws of human growth through their own activity" (Net Industries, 2008, Biography
section, ¶ 5). This is where he used his kindergarten gifts and occupations. "Gifts were objects
Froebel believed had special symbolic potential. Occupations were the raw materials children could
use in drawing and building activities that allowed them to concretize their ideas" (Gutek, 2005, p.
265). Froebel became famous as an early childhood educator in Germany and by 1848, forty–four
kindergartens were operating in Germany. Froebel began training young women as kindergarten
teachers. Kindergarten achieved its greatest influence in the United States. It was brought to
America by the Germans after the European Revolution of 1848. Kindergartens appeared wherever
there was a large concentration of German immigrants. Henry Barnard, the first United States
Commissioner of Education, introduced Froebel's kindergarten into educational literature in the

Founders Education Pros And Cons
In this article we will be talking about the pros and cons about the online courses that students are
taking on the Founders Education program online. Founders Education is very good because of its
self–paced option which allows students to work whenever they want and whichever lesson they
want to work on as long as they complete the assignment by the due date. The good thing about the
online program is that no other student will be distracted by any other student while working on the
assignments. Another thing that is very good that students like is that they are allowed to work on
the online program where ever they want as long as they have internet and also allowed to work on
any computer. One of the things students do not

Buddha And The Founder Of Buddhism
"We are shaped by our thoughts; we become what we think. When the mind is pure, joy follows like
a shadow that never leaves" This quote from Siddhartha Gautama, known as Buddha and the
founder of Buddhism, is a perfect representation of Buddhist beliefs. Buddhism is a strict religion
with various guidelines one must follow. The Buddhists believe that they are each born–again many
times and their main goal is to end this cycle of rebirth. One can do so by living each life better than
the last, in hopes of releasing____________

What exactly is rebirth? Rebirth is when the physical body can no longer function but the spirit of
whom inhabits that body lives on and takes some other shape or form, whether it be a human being
or an animal. If one does not have a chance to acquire positive karmic forces in that lifetime, they
will be forced into the cycle of rebirth until they do so.
When learning about Buddhism one question that comes up is, "What is the cause of rebirth?"
According to Buddha, lack of knowledge creates desires. Having those unfulfilled desires is the
reason for rebirth. It is when all unsatisfied desires are removed that rebirth with come to an end. To
abolish all desires people must destroy their ignorance, they must devote everything to a practice
focused on altruistic conduct. Buddha had also taught that unawareness could be demolished by
realization of the four noble truths.
To realize the four noble truths is to understand the true meaning of existence. Failure to do so is the
main cause that makes us continue in the cycle. (need something else here) The four noble truths
are:
"The first noble truth of sorrow...
The second noble truth of arising sorrow...
The third noble truth of stopping the sorrow...
The fourth noble truth of the way which leads to stopping of sorrow." (Spodek)
These truths are a strategy that focuses on the drawbacks of life and offers a solution to them. They

Forced Founders Summary
Woody Holton's Book Forced Founders: Indians, Slaves, and the Making of the American
Revolution in Virginia endeavors to explain the dynamic of the relationship of the gentry class and
Indians, debtors, and slaves and how they inadvertently affected one another's decision making.
Holton explains that the founding fathers were became increasingly paranoid that they were going to
lose their influence within the colonies. The gentry's influence stemmed from their ability to control
the markets of two key commodities in colonial America; land and labor. Gentlemen were beginning
to feel constrained by the people above them, the British government, who were constraining the
gentry's access to land by the signing of the Proclamation of 1763, which ... Show more content on

The gentry also viewed the Proclamation as the Privy Council as preferring Indians over colonists.
This made the gentry feel pressure from not just those above them, but also those below them.
Another problem faced was the price of tobacco was plummeting as a result of the monopoly Great
Britain held over the colonial trade. Small farmers were not able to pay back debts they had incurred
gathering loans to have the capital required to run a farm. This in turn caused the gentry to be unable
to pay–off their own debts. Due to the culture of being in the gentry class, many ran themselves
farther into debt trying to uphold their image. Needing an excuse to cut back on consumption and
revive the price of tobacco, the colonists engaged in non–exportation. Understanding markets, the
gentry knew that if they could withhold their crops the price of tobacco would rise as supply
dropped. Controlling labor, particularly slave labor, was also important for the gentry class to retain
their status. The natural growth of slaves in the colonies put Virginia's slaves at forty percent of the
population. Virginia's legislature asked for a reduced importation of slaves, but Britain

How Business Reward And Motivate The Team Behind It...
Startups don't generally start with a load of money. Finances are often stretched thin and rewarding
the hardworking team behind the business can be difficult. One way to handle financing is to
provide shares for the team through a process called vesting.
This guide will look to explain what vesting is all about and how a startup can set up a successful
vesting scheme. The aim is to help your business reward and motivate the team behind it without
stretching company finances too thin.
What is vesting?
Before you venture into setting up a vesting scheme, you must fully understand what it means.
Vesting is essentially a process by which the parties in the startup accrue non–forfeitable rights over
the stock ownership of the business. It ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On the other hand, if they leave after two years, they might retain 50% of what they owned.
If founder B leaves after two years, he or she will retain 22.5%. Founder B can walk away with the
share, or founder A can purchase the 22.5% back for a reasonable price. The rest of the shares will
be forfeited. If the founder leaves after four years, he or she will retain the full 45%.
The benefits of setting up a vesting scheme
Vesting is essentially a scheme to protect the business. Consider a business starts without a vesting
scheme. Founder A and founder B both have 50% of the business and work hard in order for the
business to succeed. But one day, founder B announces he will leave. Founder B can walk away
with 50% ownership of the company, while founder A has to try to salvage the situation. If the
business succeeds, founder B will get to enjoy the fruits of A's labour.
But as the example vesting scheme showed, founder B wouldn't be able to walk out with everything
until the vesting scheme is completed. Therefore, the vesting scheme can act as an incentive for
employees. The longer they work with the business and help it to succeed, the more they will gain.
While the vesting scheme can protect the business from walking out, it naturally also provides
benefits for the members of the vesting scheme. Instead of simply being part of the payroll, the
members of the scheme can reap the benefits of the business succeeding through the

The Dolphin Is A Breed Of Dolphin
Maui's dolphin is a breed of dolphin that is slowly heading toward extinction, as they are a very
endangered subspecies (1). On the North West coast of the North Island in New Zealand (between
Dargaville and New Plymouth) lays isolated areas, which is where the Maui dolphin can be found,
normally found in groups of approximately 1 to 5 dolphins within about 5 nautical miles of the
shore. (2). Maui's dolphin is the smallest breed of dolphins; they range in size from approximately
1.2–1.7m and weigh roughly around 50kg (3)(4). Majority of the dolphin is coloured a light grey
(back and sides), whilst having a white brush of colour along the sides of its body. They have an
identifiable dorsal fin as it is more rounded compared to most dolphin fins that are sickle–shaped (5)
(6). They feed on small fish such as squid, flatfish, and cod, therefore not making too big an impact
on the food chain. Over the recent years Maui dolphins have declined in numbers from
approximately 150 in 2004, down to 55 Maui's Dolphin observed in 2012 (7)(8). According to "A
risk assessment of threats to Maui's dolphins" the subspecies is in population decline holding a
survival rate of 84% and a population decline rate of 2.8% per year, these statistics were taken
between the years of 2001 and 2011 (9). If threats to the Maui's dolphin remain as they are it has
been indicated that there is a 95.7% chance that the population will decline, therefore leading it to

The Forgotten Founder : Alexander Hamilton
Ariel Fisher College Composition 3M Mr. Claxton December 10, 2015 The Forgotten Founder
Alexander Hamilton was one of the founding fathers of the United States, but little to no people
recognize the accomplishments he made. As a young man he fought in the Revolutionary War under
the command of George Washington and later went on to become the first Secretary of the Treasury.
With a multitude of other achievements under his belt, it's hard to comprehend how this amazing
man became a forgotten figure in American history. However, despite his lost legacy, it's clear that
he was the most driven of the founding fathers. As a young boy in the West Indies, Alexander went
through many trials. He was illegitimate, fatherless by the age of ten, and an orphan by twelve.
However, he still strived to be the best he could be. He began to read and memorize treatises, hoping
for war so he could move up in society. After his mother's death, he moved in with a cousin, but just
two months later his cousin committed suicide. Left without any family, money, or chance of rising
in society, Alexander began to give up on his dream of the future. To further his despair, a hurricane
hit and destroyed his home of St. Croix. In the aftermath of the disaster, he wrote a poem that was
found by a wealthy plantation owner. Just like that, his luck turned around. The plantation owner,
George Cruger, paid for Hamilton's voyage to New Jersey as well as his tuition to a grammar school
there. For the first

The Founders Of The Supreme Court System
After the ratification of the Constitution of the United States, the Supreme Court was established in
1789 in order to settle disputes of federal law by making it the highest authoritative court in
America. As stated in Article III of the Constitution, "The judicial power of the U.S. shall be vested
in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and
establish." It serves as a checks–and–balance measure against the executive and legislative
branches. But because the Constitution only provided for the creation of the Supreme Court and not

President Franklin D. Roosevelt's court–packing scheme in 1937 sought to replace the previous
justices of the Court to ones that advocated for Roosevelt's reforms, since Roosevelt's legislative

"The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior".
As long as the justices had no reason to be impeached or removed, they stayed in office, thereby
upholding their autonomy from the other branches. As a result, Roosevelt had no way to undermine
the authority of the Supreme Court and was forced to try and pass legislation that would add new
justices in order to outnumber the previous ones. However, this didn't work and Roosevelt's plan for
both court–packing and passing his New Deal legislative reform ultimately failed. Constructing

Hamilton himself stated in his Federalist No.78, "nothing can contribute so much to its firmness and

both traveled seeking for teachings, truth, enlightenment, liberation and inner peace. They both
practiced extreme asceticism, begged for food and last but not least they found the answers they've
been looking for while they're meditating. In Buddha's case, he sat under the Bodhi tree. Starving

Founders Day The Track Reflection
On September 15th, one of my first few days at Townsend Harris, I came to English 1 during Band 7

Controversy: The Founder Of The North Pole
"We were the only pulsating creatures in a dead world of ice." This is a quote from famous North
Pole explorer Frederick Albert Cook. He, along with explorer Robert Edwin Peary, are well known
as the founders of the North Pole. However, nobody knows who the actual founder is. The
controversy on who was the first to make it there is an ongoing one, with both explorers claiming to
have made it there first. Cook claimed that he had made it a year earlier than Peary, but the argument
can go both ways. With evidence supporting both sides, the conflict can go on and on. While both
have well detailed journals, some believe that the necessary information is absent, which makes
finding a solution difficult. Although resolving a founder for an area should be an easy task, the
founder of the North Pole is a mystery we may never fully resolve. When a major landform is
discovered, it often sparks vast reactions from people worldwide. Some people get extremely
excited about the idea of new land to settle and raise families on. This was the case when Columbus
discovered the Americas. The idea of a whole new continent to settle was very enticing to settlers
looking to get away. The discovery of the North Pole, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

shipboard accident, and Cook calmly set Peary's two broken bones (Henderson). It is easy to believe

Lincoln Company Plan For Achieving High Worker Productivity

Blanding's Turtle Populations
By comparing the observed heterozygosity of two Blanding's turtle populations, it was determined
that Area 1 had significantly greater observed heterozygosity than Area 2. The lower observed
heterozygosity found in Area 2 may have been caused by the founder effect, resulting in a loss of
genetic variation. The founder effect occurs when a new population is established by a small group
of migrants from a larger population. The founder effect involves a random sampling of alleles
during the reproduction of consecutive generations; when a small population is isolated, it may
amplify the loss of genetic variation as individuals may become increasingly genotypically similar
after each subsequent generation. Eventually, the alleles may become fixed ... Show more content on

Population bottlenecks occur when a population undergoes a large reduction in size as a result of
environmental events or human activities. As a result, genetic variation may decrease as certain
alleles may be over presented, under presented, or completely absent. Consequently, the genetic
variation may continue to decline throughout subsequent generations as smaller populations, with
less genetic diversity, sexually reproduce, passing on a limited amount of genes to future offspring.
Furthermore, heterozygosity in these populations may decrease as a result of inbreeding. Inbreeding
occurs when two closely related individuals reproduce; inbreeding may cause the accumulation of
homozygous recessive genes and a decrease in genetic variation. Additionally, infrequently
occurring alleles, rather than common alleles, may face a greater chance of being lost, which may
further decrease the level of genetic diversity. As the population continues to decline, the genetic
drift may be intensified as a result of increasing genetic limitations. Similarly, Rubin et al. (2001)
compared smaller, isolated populations of Blanding's turtles found in the Greater Chicago area to
larger populations found in Michigan, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin, and determined, by using
amplified polymorphic DNA, that the smaller populations had a loss of genetic variation in

Genetic Drift And The Founder Principle
Genetic drift is a deviation in the frequency of alleles in a child generation from the parental
generation due to either a random event or a sampling error. A sampling error is the transmission of
a nonrepresentative sample of the gene pool over space or time due to chance. Genetic drift and
sampling error are similar because genetic drift is a more specific form of sampling error (Stein &
Rowe, 2014). Two examples of such are population bottle–necking and the founder principle.
Population bottlenecking is when a population is drastically reduced in size due to an event such as
a natural disaster. One big bottleneck event was the Toba super eruption approximately 74,000 years

The Father And Founder Of Client
The father and founder of "Client" centered therapy, Rogers wrote books on the subject of listening
to his patients, and allowing them to determine the rate of treatment on their own time line. Rogers

groundbreaking at the time they were introduced.
The quote to me; speaks to the soul of human beings. Not only to the very soul of humans, but the
soul of nature itself. That life itself is a process that we all must go through. As I grow older (I am
not what you would call a traditional student!) I understand this quote more and more. Not just in
terms of therapy, in terms that are much broader. I can think of several examples that resonate with
me. When we are younger, we feel that we are going to live for a long time and nothing can hurt us.
We believe that we are "bullet proof". We think that nothing can touch us, that we can do crazy
things, jump out of airplanes, and ski down mountains that nobody else will. We think, all of the
horrible things that could happen will happen to somebody else not to us. As our process of aging
continues, we start to see through the rose colored glasses of our youth. That people like us can die,
they can get hurt and have bad things happen to them. This experience happens to some people
sooner than to others. Sometimes high school kids do crazy things and end up severely injured or
killed. When other high school students see this,

today the Four Seasons has never been healthier." (Weber, J., & Rossant, J, 1997, p82) I think what
makes him different from other leaders is his kindness and integrity because he believe in every one.
There are many leaders or bosses who did not believe in his staff because they always keep
skeptical. And many leaders have no integrity, and these leaders may be partial and they will not
give everyone of their staff a chance that can show his ability. But that is Mr Sharp will give them

servants offer service. So good employees offer superior service. Where can we find good

Google, The Co Founder Of Google
Report: Google
1. Purpose
The IT entrepreneur I've decided to research on is Larry Page, the co–founder of Google. This report
covers the purpose of Google as a search engine, the technologies that it uses for its searches, how it
managed to beat its predecessors and the hardware that it uses, both old and new ones. The reason
why I chose Google is because I've been using it for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy
the experience of surfing the web with it. 2. Key Information
1.1 Introduction
The idea of Google developed when its founders wanted to organize an "infinite" amount of
information on the web. It was first called "Backrub", and later on adopted the name Googol, after a
mathematical terminology. The founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin worked on their idea for 3
years before deciding to incorporate it. It officially became a company in the year 1998. Google
started off as a search engine, and it maintains its core business until now. The main benefits of
having a search engine include quick results for intended searches, as search engines extract
information from the web and display in an organized manner.
Google quickly became the most popular search engine due to several reasons. Firstly, this is due to
speed of delivering search results. When it first launched, Google used several different computers

Founders Game Essay

  • 1. Founders Game Essay The season was coming to a close, and at this thought, my chest contracted and my eyes fluttered. The Founders League Tournament was around the corner, and the coaches were beginning to assemble the all stars of each event. Although I was steadily improving my 100m time, the cutoff for running in Founders was at 11.2, and I was off by a tenth of a second. My shoulders slumped and the breeze from the wind hit the back of my neck as my head hung loose from my body. Although disheartened, I was chosen to be in the 4x100 relay team to run at Founders, bringing my head back up. This year, Taft would host Founders, giving us a home field edge. As the date came closer, practices intensified, but my legs felt looser and stronger than ever. Before ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We were out for vengeance, and as the first heat came to a close, the three remaining teams lined up. Our team was Brandon Reid starting off the blocks, Isaiah running the second leg, me securing the third, and Bawa trying to end the race in strong fashion. As I loosened my legs up, the gun sounded, and I watched Brandon get off to a quick start. Before I knew it, Isaiah was 10m behind me and was ready to pass the baton. As I grabbed the baton from Isaiah, I noticed I was a few meters behind a kid from Avon. Never, ever again I thought. My legs planted and exploded off the ground in a simultaneous motion. I was like a cheetah chasing after a gazelle. As the wind blew through my cleanly cut hair, I began to close the gap between myself and the man ahead. In the closing 20m, I tried my hardest to catch the Avon kid, but I couldn't. As I passed the baton to Bawa, my heart sank. As my chin dipped to my chest so I could only notice the ground, I realized I did not run the fastest 100m. At the end of the race, we finished second behind Avon, again. My arms tensed and my stomach dropped. Losing to Avon was the worst possible ending to my track season. However, my head would be picked up by a more important event that followed days after the Founders League Tournament. Before the season ends, it is tradition that we have one final practice in which we vote for captains. At the beginning of track, I was not sure if I wanted to run again next year, but by the end of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 3. Kenneth Lay, The Founder Of Enron Kenneth lay, the founder of Enron, did not start his life as a deceiving criminal. He was born in Missouri in 1942. He went to school at the university of Missouri where he got a master's degree in economics. After serving briefly in the us navy he got into the Gas business starting a career working for Exxon predecessor Humble Oil & Refining. He quickly moved up the ladder and found himself as president and CEO of Houston Natural Gas Co in 1981. Four years later his company merged with InterNorth, a pipeline company from Nebraska, and Enron was born. Kenneth Lay was made CEO of Enron not long after the merger. (1) Enron went into debt during the merger. Enron right from the start was forced to come up with a new way to make money and pay off their debts. Enron shortly after lost its exclusive pipeline rights and Kenneth Lay had a huge problem and need a solution, he enlisted the help of Jeremey Skilling from Mckinsey & Co to help come up with a solution. His solution was to build a 'Gas Bank'. This was a concept that Enron would buy gas from network suppliers then sell it directly to consumers under a contract which would guarantee supply and price. This revolutionary idea lead to Skilling's Employment at Enron in 1990 in a new division called Enron Finance Corp. Enron Finance Corp. had the responsibility of gaining access to suppliers and getting clients to sign contracts. They began to dominate the market and with such market power they were able predict future prices ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. NOI Founder The NOI founder was Wallace D. Fard, he carefully blended tenets of Orthodox Islam with anti– white doctrine that resonated with the psychological and social needs of the economically poor African Americans. His followers were frustrated with traditional religions inability to create change in their lives; these people were acutely aware of the effects of racism on their civic and economic opportunities. The NOI grew slowly and spread throughout various cities –– however, its membership was very small, for the most part, considered an obscure religion, and did not attract much attention. However, this began to change when a NOI minister named Malcolm X became involved; he revitalized and headed mosques in Boston, Philadelphia, and New York. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This led to a conviction for draft evasion; he served three years in federal prison. His bold anarchistic stand earned him martyr status among the faithful and helped solidify his position in the NOI community, where competition for leadership was constant. When released from prison in 1946, Elijah returned to Chicago; he then used his enhanced personal authority to begin rebuilding the NOI, which had suffered during his interment. While in prison, Elijah observed that through cooperation, the prisoners were able to produce the food needed to feed the prison population. One of the NOI goals was to be racially self–reliant, because of his prison experience; Elijah soon established farms, dairies, retail food outlets, and a number of small Muslim–owned businesses. Elijah Mohammed continued to be the leader of the NOI until his death in 1975. Muhammad had named his son Wallace Muhammad as his successor, and the NOI faithful united around his leadership. However, Wallace soon announced a new direction for the Nation of Islam, one more closely aligned with Sunni Islam. The NOI downplayed its anti–white rhetoric and rather than abstaining from white politics, voting and political participation was encouraged. In 1976, Wallace changed the name of the group to the World Community of Islam in the West (WCIW). Because of the numerous reformed ideologies, the Nation of Islam and its unique beliefs was considered to be no ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. The Founder Movie Analysis Set in 1954, The Founder is a 2016 American biographical drama film that tells the true story of Ray Kroc's involvement in the creation of the McDonald's fast food chain. The movie begins with Ray Kroc, played by Michael Keaton, a struggling salesman who seems unsatisfied in his simple, unchanging life. He goes from restaurant to restaurant in the hopes of selling Prince Castle Multi– Mixer milkshake mixers. Every restaurant he tries to sell to is characterised by slow service, tedious serving methods and a customer base of predominately obnoxious and unruly teenagers. After receiving an exceptionally large order from a restaurant called McDonald's, Ray decides to travels to California to personally deliver the mixers. It's at this point that he comes across something that changes his life, the first McDonald's. From the moment he arrives there, he realises that it is unlike any of the humdrum uninventive drive–throughs he is used to. Firstly, customers do not wait in their cars to be served, but rather they wait in neat lines to order their food from a serving window. He orders a burger, soda and fries for 35 cents and within seconds is served his food in a disposable paper bag, which he is able to eat anywhere he pleases. Whilst eating his food, he meets the two brothers that started the company, Mac and Dick McDonald (played by John Carroll Lynch and Nick Offerman). They offer him a tour around the restaurant and he is amazed by the revolutionary efficiency with which they operate. Ray becomes captivated by this thriving business and from the brothers, learns as much as he can about McDonald's. Unable to stop thinking about McDonald's, Ray realises that he wants to franchise it. After multiple discussions with the brothers, he is finally able to convince them to allow him to control the franchising of McDonald's, whilst assuring them that they will retain full control over every decision made. He works persistently to make the McDonald's franchises hugely successful, growing the company to a multimillion dollar company, all the while gaining more control over McDonald's as a whole. As the success of the business grows it fuels his ambition and ego. He becomes selfish, divorcing his wife and looking for ways ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Founder Of Granite Rock Co Arthur Roberts Wilson, the founder of Granite Rock Co., had started the business in 1900 with a small labor force who mined the quarries using sledge hammers and hauled it out manually. (Anfuso, 1994) In the 1980s, a new strategy was born just when the company looked to be doing good business. Bruce W. Woolpert, A.R Wilson's grandson became the CEO of Granite Rock Co. and led to the makeover of the long–established company. (Harold Koontz, 2006) The firm is based at Watsonville, California and it employs about 400 people serving the construction industry in Northern California. Today they use advanced equipment necessary for the quarry industry like, automated trucks, large crushers, and modern material handling systems. (Anfuso, 1994) ... (Jill Griffin, 2002) Here the catalytic mechanism redistributes the power so that it benefits the entire system which includes the company as well as the customer but this often creates an uncomfortable situation for the company. (HBR: Turning Goals) At the bottom of each invoice was written "If you are not satisfied for any reason, don't pay us for it. Simply scratch out the line item, write a brief note about the problem, and return a copy of this invoice along with your check for the balance." (HBR: Turning Goals) This meant that the customer had the complete power to pay as per his satisfaction level and did not have to return the product. Granite Rock Co. knew that 90% of the customers don't complain and they will go away hence losing the customer without knowing the reason. This method was a simple strategy they came up with for the customers to voice their problems which helped the organization act upon them. (Jill Griffin, 2002) To achieve a BHAG requires the complete commitment of the employees towards it. Woolpert did not know how the employees would confront a customer doing a short pay. So, before Woolpert put into action this policy, he made sure to go and talk to his employees to know what they felt about it. He made sure that the employees feel that it is immoral for them to ask the customers to pay for some product that didn't meet their expectations. He asked them whether ... • 11. Lincoln Company Plan For Achieving High Worker Productivity 1. According to the usual measures of success, Lincoln has been a successful company. It 's market share is stable and productivity of the company per employee is well over average, more than twice of his contemporaries; claimed by the Founder. Many college management texts refer to the Lincoln Company plan as a model for achieving high worker productivity. Lincoln Electric was distinguished from its contemporaries, when as the head of the firm, asked the employees to choose representatives to a committee to advise him on company operations; which was been referred to as Advisory Board. Management style and beliefs was second to none among its contemporaries. Such belief that customer 's interests should be the first goal of the company; that is customers should come first and not the stockholders. Labour and management are a part of one organization, in which they must and should cooperate fully and work happily together. Not as warring camp mates but as a part of a united entity. Each worker proceeds with his task as at due thoughtfully, not engaging in idle chatting but busy. They are efficient in discharging their duties and give no room for wastage in the company. A typical employee at Lincoln company earns about twice as much as other factory workers, because it is part of the founder 's belief that earnings of each employee must be in accordance with his accomplishment. • 13. The Founder Of Steve Jobs Introduction Apple Inc. had very small beginnings. The co–founder, Steve Jobs, was born in San Francisco, California in 1955. He was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs, where he was given the names Steven Paul Jobs. The family loved in what is now known as Silicon Valley. As a child, Steve and his father worked on electronics in their garage. Here Steve was taught how to take a part and put back together gadgets and that became a hobby if his throughout his childhood. Jobs was an innovative and intelligent thinker. He tested so well in school that he was proposed to skip ahead, but his parent declined. While Steve attended Homestead High School, he met Steve Wozniak. Wozniak eventually became Jobs future partner and co–founder of Apple. In a 2007 interview with PC World, Steve Wozniak told of how he and Jobs worked together so well: "We both loved electronics and the way we used to hook up digital chips," Wozniak said. "Very few people, especially back then, had any idea what chips were, how they worked and what they could do. Holton went on to point out how there were revolts against the Native Americans and how they sought to persuade the Privy Council that they should nullify the King's Proclamation. Another aspect that Holton examines was the number of boycotts on English goods. The financial goals of the colonies to England were the production of certain luxury items that could only be produced in the colonies; that included cotton, tobacco, and indigo, all of which were considerable revenue–makers for both the colonists and their British counterparts. This word expressed Froebel's vision for early childhood education: "Children are like tiny flowers; they are varied and need care, but each is beautiful alone and glorious when seen in the community of peers" (Smith, 1999, ¶ 6). He used play, songs, stories, and activities to establish an educational environment in which children, by their own activity, could learn and develop. According to Froebel, this meant that children, in their development, would learn to follow the "divinely established laws of human growth through their own activity" (Net Industries, 2008, Biography section, ¶ 5). This is where he used his kindergarten gifts and occupations. "Gifts were objects Froebel believed had special symbolic potential. Occupations were the raw materials children could use in drawing and building activities that allowed them to concretize their ideas" (Gutek, 2005, p. 265). Forced Founders Summary Woody Holton's Book Forced Founders: Indians, Slaves, and the Making of the American Revolution in Virginia endeavors to explain the dynamic of the relationship of the gentry class and Indians, debtors, and slaves and how they inadvertently affected one another's decision making. Holton explains that the founding fathers were became increasingly paranoid that they were going to lose their influence within the colonies. The gentry's influence stemmed from their ability to control the markets of two key commodities in colonial America; land and labor. This made the gentry feel pressure from not just those above them, but also those below them. Small farmers were not able to pay back debts they had incurred gathering loans to have the capital required to run a farm. This in turn caused the gentry to be unable to pay–off their own debts. Due to the culture of being in the gentry class, many ran themselves farther into debt trying to uphold their image. Needing an excuse to cut back on consumption and revive the price of tobacco, the colonists engaged in non–exportation. Finances are often stretched thin and rewarding the hardworking team behind the business can be difficult. One way to handle financing is to provide shares for the team through a process called vesting. This guide will look to explain what vesting is all about and how a startup can set up a successful vesting scheme. The aim is to help your business reward and motivate the team behind it without stretching company finances too thin. What is vesting? Founder B can walk away with the share, or founder A can purchase the 22.5% back for a reasonable price. The rest of the shares will be forfeited. If the founder leaves after four years, he or she will retain the full 45%. The benefits of setting up a vesting scheme Vesting is essentially a scheme to protect the business. Consider a business starts without a vesting scheme. Founder A and founder B both have 50% of the business and work hard in order for the business to succeed. But one day, founder B announces he will leave. Founder B can walk away with 50% ownership of the company, while founder A has to try to salvage the situation. If the business succeeds, founder B will get to enjoy the fruits of A's labour. But as the example vesting scheme showed, founder B wouldn't be able to walk out with everything until the vesting scheme is completed. Therefore, the vesting scheme can act as an incentive for employees. The longer they work with the business and help it to succeed, the more they will gain. As a young man he fought in the Revolutionary War under the command of George Washington and later went on to become the first Secretary of the Treasury. With a multitude of other achievements under his belt, it's hard to comprehend how this amazing man became a forgotten figure in American history. However, despite his lost legacy, it's clear that he was the most driven of the founding fathers. As a young boy in the West Indies, Alexander went through many trials. Some considered it a culture that flourished in India that later took on the form of a religion. Hinduism is taught from the Vedas which teaches on religious customs and traditions. One custom is Ayurveda a science that deals with treatment of disease but is also a Hindus complete way of life. Which came from the Vedas also known as the ancient books of knowledge and science from India. Vedas is believed to be imparted from God to the human race some thousands years ago. • 59. The Founders Of The Supreme Court System After the ratification of the Constitution of the United States, the Supreme Court was established in 1789 in order to settle disputes of federal law by making it the highest authoritative court in America. As stated in Article III of the Constitution, "The judicial power of the U.S. shall be vested in one Supreme Court, and in such inferior courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish." It serves as a checks–and–balance measure against the executive and legislative branches. But because the Constitution only provided for the creation of the Supreme Court and not much else, its specific role has been determined over the passing of time. The Court's stances and decisions of various cases throughout history have developed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... President Franklin D. Roosevelt's court–packing scheme in 1937 sought to replace the previous justices of the Court to ones that advocated for Roosevelt's reforms, since Roosevelt's legislative changes kept getting denied. However, because of their lifetime tenure granted by the Constitution, "The judges, both of the supreme and inferior courts, shall hold their offices during good behavior". As long as the justices had no reason to be impeached or removed, they stayed in office, thereby upholding their autonomy from the other branches. As a result, Roosevelt had no way to undermine the authority of the Supreme Court and was forced to try and pass legislation that would add new justices in order to outnumber the previous ones. However, this didn't work and Roosevelt's plan for both court–packing and passing his New Deal legislative reform ultimately failed. Constructing judicial seats so that they are irremovable contributes to the judicial branch's authority, as Alexander Hamilton himself stated in his Federalist No.78, "nothing can contribute so much to its firmness and independence as permanency in ... I have read and completely understood the story of Siddhartha also known as the Buddha the founder of Buddhism. And one of the stories from a different religion that I can compare to the story of Siddhartha Gautama Is the story of Jesus Christ. The founder of Christianity and is the most famous myth in Christian religion. I can compare both because of the way Buddha and Jesus was born. They both came from a different country and womb but they do have the similarities of how they were both born. Like Jesus, Siddhartha was believed to be a miracle child from an unknown deity. As for Jesus case, it was the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They were both a prince and both of them had married have a family and a child. Which they both abandoned and casted away from after their eyes had been opened to the reality of the world. They both traveled seeking for teachings, truth, enlightenment, liberation and inner peace. They both practiced extreme asceticism, begged for food and last but not least they found the answers they've been looking for while they're meditating. In Buddha's case, he sat under the Bodhi tree. Starving and weakening and while meditating "he reached a state of profound understanding, called his Awakening, or Enlightenment (bodhi)". He saw suffering, aging, and death in a new way, recognizing them as an inevitable part of life, but also seeing the possibility of release". (Molloy, 2012) This is where Siddhartha got the name Buddha means "the Awaken One" taken from a Sanskrit word "to wake up". On the other hand, on Mahavira's case, He spent 12 years doing hundreds of meditations and fasting Mahavira was able to attain the total freedom from the cycle of birth, life, pain, misery, and death itself. "He achieved the permanent blissful state of one's self which is also known as the great liberation (Moksha) meaning the absolute freedom". • 63. Founders Day The Track Reflection On September 15th, one of my first few days at Townsend Harris, I came to English 1 during Band 7 and when I sat down to look at the board, my first reaction was to be confused. "Founders' Day: The Track Project" wasn't a phrase I'd heard of from any friends or upperclassmen. After going through a lesson about the Flushing Remonstrance and it's relations to the rivalry between Townsend Harris and Peter Stuyvesant, I was reluctant to hear about the project. I'd guessed that it would be a bland and was pleasantly surprised to hear that we would have options. Of these four options, I figured I wouldn't have the resources or the time to complete the film track (which would likely have to be done outside of school with a camera) and figured journalism ... I found that students at Townsend Harris work hard and get schoolwork done. At my old school, group projects were always a real pain because I would always end up doing all of the work. Here, well at least in my group, everyone did their fair share. In the process of this, I also learned a lot about Townsend Harris as a person as well as how Townsend Harris High School was created. • 65. Controversy: The Founder Of The North Pole "We were the only pulsating creatures in a dead world of ice." This is a quote from famous North Pole explorer Frederick Albert Cook. He, along with explorer Robert Edwin Peary, are well known as the founders of the North Pole. However, nobody knows who the actual founder is. The controversy on who was the first to make it there is an ongoing one, with both explorers claiming to have made it there first. Cook claimed that he had made it a year earlier than Peary, but the argument can go both ways. With evidence supporting both sides, the conflict can go on and on. While both have well detailed journals, some believe that the necessary information is absent, which makes finding a solution difficult. Although resolving a founder for an area should be an easy task, the founder of the North Pole is a mystery we may never fully resolve. When a major landform is discovered, it often sparks vast reactions from people worldwide. Some people get extremely excited about the idea of new land to settle and raise families on. This was the case when Columbus discovered the Americas. The idea of a whole new continent to settle was very enticing to settlers looking to get away. The discovery of the North Pole, ... • 67. Lincoln Company Plan For Achieving High Worker Productivity According to the usual measures of success, Lincoln has been a successful company. • 69. Blanding's Turtle Populations By comparing the observed heterozygosity of two Blanding's turtle populations, it was determined that Area 1 had significantly greater observed heterozygosity than Area 2. The lower observed heterozygosity found in Area 2 may have been caused by the founder effect, resulting in a loss of genetic variation. The founder effect occurs when a new population is established by a small group of migrants from a larger population. The founder effect involves a random sampling of alleles during the reproduction of consecutive generations; when a small population is isolated, it may amplify the loss of genetic variation as individuals may become increasingly genotypically similar after each subsequent generation. Eventually, the alleles may become fixed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Population bottlenecks occur when a population undergoes a large reduction in size as a result of environmental events or human activities. As a result, genetic variation may decrease as certain alleles may be over presented, under presented, or completely absent. Consequently, the genetic variation may continue to decline throughout subsequent generations as smaller populations, with less genetic diversity, sexually reproduce, passing on a limited amount of genes to future offspring. Furthermore, heterozygosity in these populations may decrease as a result of inbreeding. Inbreeding occurs when two closely related individuals reproduce; inbreeding may cause the accumulation of homozygous recessive genes and a decrease in genetic variation. Additionally, infrequently occurring alleles, rather than common alleles, may face a greater chance of being lost, which may further decrease the level of genetic diversity. As the population continues to decline, the genetic drift may be intensified as a result of increasing genetic limitations. Similarly, Rubin et al. (2001) compared smaller, isolated populations of Blanding's turtles found in the Greater Chicago area to larger populations found in Michigan, Nova Scotia and Wisconsin, and determined, by using amplified polymorphic DNA, that the smaller populations had a loss of genetic variation in comparison to the ... • 71. Genetic Drift And The Founder Principle Genetic drift is a deviation in the frequency of alleles in a child generation from the parental generation due to either a random event or a sampling error. A sampling error is the transmission of a nonrepresentative sample of the gene pool over space or time due to chance. Genetic drift and sampling error are similar because genetic drift is a more specific form of sampling error (Stein & Rowe, 2014). Two examples of such are population bottle–necking and the founder principle. Population bottlenecking is when a population is drastically reduced in size due to an event such as a natural disaster. One big bottleneck event was the Toba super eruption approximately 74,000 years ago. The Toba eruption happened during an important period of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Father And Founder Of Client The father and founder of "Client" centered therapy, Rogers wrote books on the subject of listening to his patients, and allowing them to determine the rate of treatment on their own time line. Rogers was the first to use the term client, instead of the patient, and his "people centered theories" were groundbreaking at the time they were introduced. The quote to me; speaks to the soul of human beings. Not only to the very soul of humans, but the soul of nature itself. That life itself is a process that we all must go through. As I grow older (I am not what you would call a traditional student!) I understand this quote more and more. Not just in terms of therapy, in terms that are much broader. I can think of several examples that resonate with me. When we are younger, we feel that we are going to live for a long time and nothing can hurt us. We believe that we are "bullet proof". We think that nothing can touch us, that we can do crazy things, jump out of airplanes, and ski down mountains that nobody else will. We think, all of the horrible things that could happen will happen to somebody else not to us. As our process of aging continues, we start to see through the rose colored glasses of our youth. That people like us can die, they can get hurt and have bad things happen to them. This experience happens to some people sooner than to others. Sometimes high school kids do crazy things and end up severely injured or killed. When other high school students see this, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The founder of Four Season is Isadore Sharp, we can know that his only professional experience was in building apartments and houses. "for a guy who got started building houses with his father, Isadore Sharp has developed quite an aversion to bricks and mortar. "Real estate is a terrific business," says the 61–yearold chairman of Four Seasons Hotels." (Hayes, J. R. 1993, p228) He had no notion of running and managing a hotel and he did not think that it would be his career. (Weber, J., & Rossant, J, 1997, p82) I think what makes him different from other leaders is his kindness and integrity because he believe in every one. There are many leaders or bosses who did not believe in his staff because they always keep skeptical. And many leaders have no integrity, and these leaders may be partial and they will not give everyone of their staff a chance that can show his ability. But that is Mr Sharp will give them the chance, and that is the most difference from other leaders of hospitality businesses. All people know that hotel belongs to service industry. Who offer service? There is no doubt that servants offer service. So good employees offer superior service. Where can we find good employees and how should we treat and care for employees? Mr Sharp will give us answers of our questions. He said that they should treat employees they way they hope and expect them to treat their customers. And treating them with the same understanding they hope them offer to their customers. So Mr Sharp always respect his staff enough. And they also made mistakes too. He said that they ... • 77. Google, The Co Founder Of Google Report: Google 1. Purpose The IT entrepreneur I've decided to research on is Larry Page, the co–founder of Google. This report covers the purpose of Google as a search engine, the technologies that it uses for its searches, how it managed to beat its predecessors and the hardware that it uses, both old and new ones. The reason why I chose Google is because I've been using it for a number of years now and I thoroughly enjoy the experience of surfing the web with it. 2. Key Information 1.1 Introduction The idea of Google developed when its founders wanted to organize an "infinite" amount of information on the web. It was first called "Backrub", and later on adopted the name Googol, after a mathematical terminology. The founders, Larry Page and Sergey Brin worked on their idea for 3 years before deciding to incorporate it. It officially became a company in the year 1998. Google started off as a search engine, and it maintains its core business until now. The main benefits of having a search engine include quick results for intended searches, as search engines extract information from the web and display in an organized manner. Google quickly became the most popular search engine due to several reasons. Firstly, this is due to speed of delivering search results. When it first launched, Google used several different computers to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
