Essay On Debonairs Pizza
Debonairs Pizza was founded in 1991 by two university students, Craig McKenzie and Andrew
Harvey. Craig McKenzie operated from a family bakery in Pietermaritzburg. In 1996 Debonairs was
bought by the extremely successful Steers Group of Companies, (now Famous Brands) which allowed
Debonairs access to the most professional and refined support system available within the fast food
franchising industry.
Debonairs Pizza is broadly renowned for pioneering the pizza category in South Africa and for
familiarising the country with the concept of take out and home delivery. With 2017 being Debonairs
Pizza s 26th year of operating, the franchise has accomplished many milestones. On its first night of
operating in 1991, Debonairs delivered eight pizzas and today roughly 2.2 million transactions are
conducted in South Africa and the Rest of the African region every month. Correspondingly, some
27.5 million pizzas are delivered per year. Moreover, Debonairs was the first South African fast food
franchise to offer online and mobile ordering as well as free delivery, but only over orders costing
R50. In 2001, the brand s first non delivery ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Disadvantages Of Software Development Life Cycle
Part B (1.1) Introduction A software development process, also known as a software development life
cycle (SDLC) can be explained as a structure, imposed on the development of a software product. The
software development life cycle (SDLC) is an umbrella term for the overall process of developing,
implementing, and retiring information systems through a multiple step process from initiation,
training, documentation , design, analysis, maintenance, and consulting. Software development life
cycle (SDLC) can be termed as a process of bringing ideas to reality in the creation of a software
product with in the software industry. Types of Software Developing Life Cycles (SDLC)

It might take a while for a system to be built that allows ease of use and needs minimal training for the

developed which emphasizes iterations of the phases with each phase producing on early Prototype
representing a part of the overall system. This helps in demonstrating a proof of concept early in
development. This model is similar to the incremental model, but with more emphasis placed on risk
analysis. A software project repeatedly passes through these phases in iterations (called spirals in this
model). The baseline spiral, starting in the planning phase, requirements are gathered and risk is
assessed. Each subsequent spirals builds on the baseline spiral.
Planning Phase The project is reviewed and a decision is made whether to continue with a further loop

Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill
The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more than 11
million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on Bligh Reef in
Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to a fatigued crew, a
lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an inadequate ship design.
The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill prevention and response
improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound. On 22 March 1989, the Exxon
Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska
Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers drove into town the following morning with
William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading the ship through the Valdez Narrows. According to
the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB 1989,29), Hazelwood in addition to finishing ship
business and running errands had a few alcoholic drinks that afternoon at a local bar and at least one
more drink as the group waited for dinner. At 2024 on 23 March, the officers returned to the ship at
2024 and found out that the ship was ready to depart at 2100. The ship was originally scheduled to
depart at 2200. Before the officers returned, Third Mate Gregory Cousins had performed pre departure
equipment tests and found that the tests were successful. The ship set sail and was clear of the dock

Narrative Essay Mexico
My summer was completely over. I love my grandmother and everything, but she had just annihilated
what I had been looking forward to the ENTIRE year. Every summer, I travel to Mexico to visit my
father, Luis. We do something distinctive each year. Whether it s going to the beach or driving a
tractor, I always end up amused. This summer, my brother Edel, my father, and I were supposed to
sleep in a cabin, which was in tremendous mountains, go hiking, swimming in breath taking waterfalls
and zip lining on one of the world s most enormous ziplines. I was extremely anxious to begin my
paradisiacal vacation. On the other hand, Edel was not as eager as I was to potentially die. First of all,
it was a excessively safe zip line, that also had wagers which stated if you were harmed they were not
responsible. SOO, he had a slight point. There were still hundreds of human beings that had a once in
a lifetime experience. My father had already gone once, how much harder is it going on a second
time? Mexico can be REALLY different from the United States in many ways. It reminds me of a

The first thing I did was go outdoors, and remark the beautiful scenery. Hundreds of trees were poking
out sky high mountains along with dangerous animals that could kill me with a bite, living in the soil
to the left and to my right were some noisy chickens. There are literally chickens roaming the dirt
roads in packs. It s hilarious when you try to charge after them, which then results in a great deal of
chaos, including constant clucking . I went back inside to take a shower, just as my father drove into
the driveway. He told me to get dressed pronto and grab everything, not giving me time to ask
questions. I immediately started wondering What on Earth is going on?. My grandfather looked as
confused as I did. I didn t even get a chance to get some actual pants on before we drove out of El

Evaluation Capacity Analysis
In this portion of the evaluative assignments, there will be an analysis to assess the role and function
of evaluations and processes with the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS). ADHS is a
large and complex agency which encompasses many departments, divisions, and offices. As a result,
each component and program collects different data and evaluates their capacities differently.
Therefore, for this evaluation capacity analysis, the program that will be focused on is, the High Risk
Perinatal Program/ Newborn Intensive Care Program (HRPP/NICP) within the Bureau of Women and
Children s Health (BWCH), Office of Children s Health (OCH). This capacity analysis draws on data
collected from previous evaluations, as well as data compiled from conversations with agency staff.
With this data, the paper will discuss forms of data collected, the processes used to collect data, key
players, reporting procedures, a discussion of how data is used within the agency, and a discussion of
previous evaluations undertaken to assess the HRPP/NICP program. The purpose of the overall ...

Cannibalism Is Not Illegal ( Eveleth )
The Other, Other, White Meat
We had to eat these dead bodies, and that was it , this is what Andes plane crash survivor, Roberto
Canessa, had to say on his experience with cannibalism. Cannibalism is the consumption of a member
of the same species. Consuming human flesh is not against the law in the United States, therefore
cannibalism is not illegal (Eveleth). In the eyes of the law, murdering someone to eat is wrong, but the
act of eating a human is not. To Americans the simple thought of eating another human is sickening.
To most that is true, but to others consuming human flesh is a way of life. Some cultures practice
cannibalism for their own spiritual beliefs and others have to eat human flesh to survive. Human flesh
has proteins most want when eating meat. The act of eating human meat has gotten a bad reputation
over the years, looking back in history, people thousands of years ago have different views.
Cannibalism is a way to survive, with the proteins necessary to do so, and a way for cultures to
express their beliefs. Cannibalism is a taboo topic most people do not know enough about. People eat
people for a variety of reasons, the most well known being killers getting a thrill from eating their
victims. Although not everyone who is a cannibal gets a high from eating humans, Americans still see
it as evil. Jeffrey Dahmer is the most well known example of this, a man who gets a sexual desire
from killing and eating his victims. Everyone across America knew of

##s And Differences Of Rikka-Tikki-Tavi By Rudyard Kipling
Being brave isn t the absence of fear. Being brave is having that fear, but finding a way through it.
Mongoose are animals who train from birth to kill and eat snakes. If mongoose eat a lot of food, it
makes them slower. When mongoose become angry, their eyes turn red. To kill snakes, mongoose
must back able to bite them directly on the back of the head. There is much to compare and contrast
from the story Rikki tikki tavi by Rudyard Kipling. There are many similarities and differences in the
characters, setting, and conflict for both the story and the movie, Rikki tikki tavi. There s many

Analysis Of Nothing Gold Can Stay By Jane Flanders
The world has several great poets and numerous mind blowing works, each with its own way of
portraying its own message using symbolism to represent lessons of everyday life. Jane Flanders
wrote the poem named Cloud Painter she shows the world from an artistic way, using a painter and his
canvas to help the reader picture the true meaning behind the words and images created. Robert Frost
takes on the same idea, but uses a less complex example so that it makes his work easy to understand
while not revealing the actual meaning of the poem. Frost and Flanders are just two of the many poets
that use nature as a way of explaining the very lessons in life. Each poet has a different way of
presenting similar images but from a different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Flanders uses this line to represent the things opportunities in the world that are there and difficult to
get without giving up something in return. The special chances that are there from the start are often
not appreciated but the ones that have been worked for do not tend to lose their value over time.
Robert Frost on the other hand used a more fictional approach in Nothing Gold Can Stay . Nature s
first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold. This couplet has one key theme that not only lies in the
word choice but in the writing, itself. The start of spring is when all the new flowers blossom and the
leaves on trees become greener. The start of something fresh and lovely is the main point in this line
but this is also a way of saying that the best things that are free are given without any strings or
repercussions are taken advantage of. The next two lines Her early leaf s a flower; But only so an
hour. In other words, the possibilities that are given throughout life can also be taken away just as fast.
In Frost s poem, he uses the garden of Eden to help the reader to imagine where this idea is heading.
In the first sentence Frost states that Natures first green is gold this represents the very first blooming
of flowers and the return of the green leaves during the springtime which when applied to life, it

Burn Books To Destroy A Culture
The quote You don t have to burn books to destroy a culture. Just get people to stop reading them.
(Bradbury) has a very good lesson to learn from it about books. What the quote is saying is that
reading books can keep your imagination and your culture alive. This quote is trying to show you that
books are so much more than just words slapped between two covers. Inside of books are lessons that
every person can learn from. You don t have to burn books to destroy a culture (Bradbury) means that
there is another way instead of burning books to destroy a culture. Jost get people to stop reading them
This means that if people stop reading books then they will not be as smart, imaginative, and there
over all culture will start to fade. So

Essay about understanding discipline in the workplace
Understanding discipline in the workplace 1.1 Disciplinary rules and procedures are important in a
workplace to set out the boundaries of acceptable conduct and satisfactory performance, and to ensure
fair and equal treatment of all employees. Since 1977 there has been a Code of Practice on
disciplinary practice and procedures issued by ACAS. A revised version of the ACAS Code of Practice
on Disciplinary and Grievance Procedures came into effect on 6 April 2009. The Code must be taken

Analysis Of John Gardner s Beowulf
John Gardner offers an alternate interpretation of the old english epic Beowulf by narrating the
experiences of the monster Grendel, after whom the book is named. Grendel conveys himself as a
homicidal, ravenous beast, only capable of destruction and chaos. Therefore, one can conclude that
Grendel is indeed evil, and that he well deserves the cessation of his existence. However, depending
on the philosophical ideologies and the relative perspective one finds self in, they may conclude
differently. Nevertheless, the reader may likely to find one s self both sympathizing with, and scorning
Grendel, because, as the 10th century old english monster says, balance is everything .
Evil, like many other things we humans take as absolutes, is ultimately a matter of perspective.
President Barack Obama once said ...evil is senseless. It s beyond reason . Senselessness immorality
often coincide in topics surrounding evil. However, as many philosophers and political thinkers alike
question, what defines morality ? A Nihilist may think that all values are baseless and that nothing can
be known or communicated , nor would one have [any] purpose, other than, perhaps, an impulse to
destroy (Pratt). Grendel has a nihilistic epiphany early in his life, when he narrates I understood that
the world was nothing: a mechanical chaos of casual, brute enmity on which we stupidly impose our
hopes and fears (Garder 21 22). Grendel also performs a plethora of destructive acts in the novel,

How To Write An Essay On The Oj Simpson Trial
The day was June 12, 1994 and only a few people would know that it would become a very important
day in United States history. Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman are stabbed in Simpson s
Los Angeles home. Nicole Brown was the ex wife of NFL superstar O.J. Simpson. O.J. came home

rode off in his Ford White Bronco and caused what would be known one of the greatest police chases
of all time. He would be arrested and would be put to a trial. This would only be the beginning of a
very important trial. The trail promptly began on January 24, 1995 with prosecutors Marcia Clark and
Christopher Darden deliver opening statements for the prosecution. The judge presiding over the case
was Lance Ito. The next day Johnnie Cochran delivered the opening statement for the defense. The
trial would continue for over 10 months, and over the course of those 10 months some very important

neurotransmitter receptors. They do many functions in the central and peripheral nervous systems.
Nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, or nAChRs are receptors that make a response to the
neurotransmitter acetylcholine. Nicotinic receptors can respond to some drugs, such as the nicotinic
receptor agonist nicotine. So where can we find these receptors?
We find these receptors in the central nervous system of humans (CNS). But is play an important role

Italian Cinema Paper
Blow Up, his second colored film, investigates how man deals with the flux even though he is
separated from it. The viewer is first introduced to downtown London. A grayish black jeep, teeming
with shouting young adults, crawls over a cobble stone hill into a gray blue sky and turns the corner.
The jeep reappears in a wide street, young adults, painted as mimes, pour from the vehicle and flood
the road. A small group passes by the protagonist Thomas, who hands one begging girl a crumpled bill
from the back seat of his car. The camera attaches to Thomas, and the viewer stares down at him as he
drives through a tunnel. Unlike L Eclisse, Thomas is immediately depicted as a moving factor in the
flux of reality. The viewer knows his landscape before they know him, and Antonioni tells the viewer
they will not know Thomas when the viewer does not see the jeep turn a corner. The viewer is driving
blindly into Thomas s story and will have to make conclusions based on separate pieces of
information. They are further separated from Thomas because Antonioni gives us permission to
figuratively judge him by literally looking down at him. Thomas s ground position suggests Thomas is
a man who functions in human utility and even the viewer, who Antonioni does not know, is closer to
reality than his character. Antonioni gives grounds for these assumptions when the viewer watches
Thomas, a photographer by profession, shoot two photo shoots. Thomas hovers and yells at his model,

The Big Friendly Giant Analysis
Roald Dahl wrote the big friendly giant as a contribution of his seven year old daughter who passed
away. Dahl was a British World War 2 fighter and later became interested in writing books for adults.
Soon after, he began to write children books and mad big hits off popular books and movies such as
James And the Giant Peach. Roald Dahl had 5 kids and a wife named Patricia Neal. The Big Friendly
Giant was dedicated to Oliva, his daughter, who died of a disease called measles encephalitis which is
swelling of the brain. The book was published in 1982 which was 20 years after died. A person
shouldn t be judged since they are different than you, interpreting someone s ways may contribute to
your outlook on them such as how are they different from you, what are they morals and how the
character behaves. In the book The Big Friendly Giant, a little girl named Sophie was captured from
an orphanage by a giant. The giant was genuine and nice to Sophie, he also was a vegetarian which
revealed he wasn t going to eat Sophie. The Giant was called The Big friendly Giant since he always
treated Sophie respectfully and protected her. The Big Friendly Giant took Sophie to an ancient cave
which was his home. His house was immense to Sophie since he lived in a world where giants exist
and everything was massive. Outside his house lived other giants who were carnivores and mean to
the big friendly giant. The giants who lived outside the cave would go snatch children up and eat
them.

Causes And Treatment Of Chronic Illness
Throughout the past century the world has seen a drastic shift in not only life expectancy but in quality
of life. Medicine has become incredibly advanced and thus life expectancy rates have increased over
the years. However, it must also be recognized that there are now higher rates of chronic illness.
Chronic illnesses such as cancer, diabetes, arthritis and heart disease are the leading causes of
disability throughout the United States. As of 2012, about half of all adults 117 million people had one
or more chronic health conditions (CDC 2016). People with a chronic illness essentially have a
disease or disorder that requires a lifetime of coping. It is not uncommon for people to often become

In a study conducted by Brown, Sheffield, Leary and Robinson (2003) the researchers tested the
association between social support and levels of pain. The study tested 101 undergraduate students.
The subjects were randomly assigned to one of three groups. The groups were required to press a cold
presser that delivered a small pain and after, rate their pain on a 10 point scale. Each group was either
paired with a friend, a stranger or carried out the task alone. The study concluded that the individuals
who used the cold presser while another person was in the room, stranger or friend, reported lower
levels of pain. Evidently there is a connection between social support and pain tolerance. This
information is extremely important because chronic illness is essentially a diagnosis of lifelong pain.
If social support can improve this pain, these patients could improve their quality of life. In a study
conducted by Lopez Martinez, Esteve Zarazaga and Ramirez Maestre (2008) the effects of social
support on pain were further studied. In their study, the purpose was to test the relation between
perceived social support and the coping responses to pain in those suffering from chronic pain or
illness. The study consisted of 117 subjects recruited from a Clinical Pain Unit at a hospital in Spain.
The average subject was around 54 years old and mostly consisted of women. In order to measure the

Introduction to Geography-Montessori
Introduction to Geography
The world is getting smaller, we now live in a global village due to our enlarged technical skills. It is
today as easy to fly from eg. Dublin to Rome as it was to travel from Dublin to Cork 150 years ago,
Not to mention flights to the moon back. Geography has turned out to be the study of man in space.
Between mass media and frequent travel the child is bombarded with impressions about the planet he
lives on. In today s world the child hears random words, names of countries with upheavels and wars
they get scared. They really need to know where they are, even on a larger scale. It is better to
understand that a lot of things happen far away and not in my neighbourhood. This will give them
some sense of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

As a practical life exercise the different land and water forms are presented as a pouring exercise. The
models are made out of clay and put on small baking trays. The child will get a sensorial impression
of what these water/land forms really are.
Later the child will have picture cards/classified cards, which will show them the same thing, a lake/an

Creation Myths In Hesiod, Ovid, And Apollodorus
Ancient authors such as Hesiod, Ovid, and Apollodorus set forth to record what they knew of their
gods, especially how these gods created the world and the beings inside of it. Each author provides
different variations of the myths that surround creationism. Modern westerners are familiar with the
creation stories provided within Genesis, not realizing that many elements were borrowed and inspired
by other cultures, such as the Greeks. These myths, even within the same book, can contradicting or
confusing. Between authors, there are often different interpretations, that during the time they were
written, co existed and were accepted as truth, regardless of how impossible it was for both to be
correct. For these ancient cultures, it is clear that each one believed in ... Show more content on

The story of a flood is popular within many creation myths, the most famous of today told within
Genesis. Ovid declares that Zeus was mad at humanity and commanded Poseidon to flood the earth
(1.262 313). For unknown reasons, Deucalion and Pyrrha have a boat and survive the flood. They
begin to worship the gods, when Themis whispers to them to throw the bones if their mother. They
take this to mean to throw rocks, as Gaia is Mother Earth. They obey, and these rocks turn into
humans and they begin to repopulate the earth (1.314 449). In Apollodorus account of the flood,
Prometheus, the father of Deucalion, warns his son of the flood and tells him to build an ark. After the
water subsides, Deucalion and Pyrrha worship Zeus and he sends Hermes to instruct the couple on
repopulating the earth. Once again, Deucalion and Pyrrha throw rocks, with this time, Deucalion s
rocks turning into men and Pyrrha s turning into women (Apollod. Bibl. 1.46 48). Despite two people
of opposite genders surviving, both accounts relay that humans were created again through
supernatural means, rather than natural

Juvenile Justice System Is The Fundamental System
The Juvenile Correction System is the fundamental system used to address and deal with youth who
are caught and convicted of crimes, such as murder, robbery, and aggravated assault. The juvenile
justice system gets involved in delinquent behavior through police, court, and correctional
commitment. Throughout history, many individuals have tried to change the policies and process of
the juvenile correction system. Some agree with the structure of incarceration and the treatment these
teens deserve for breaking the law. Others agree on the rehabilitation of the youth back into society.
There are many different perspectives the general public has towards this system. The juvenile justice
system is built with many advantages and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From there, the law enforcement officer will decide to send the situation further into the justice system
or bypass it into alternative programs. Alternative programs include boot camp, cognitive behavioral
therapy/treatment, substance abuse treatment, home detention, counseling services, different high
schools, and many other various approaches. A juvenile probation officer is contacted to be assigned
to the teen. The teen is defined by the risk assessment which means he or she can be released to their
parents/guardians, can be placed on home detention, or be detained by DJJ, Department of Juvenile
Justice. The juvenile must appear before the judge within 24 hours for detention review also known as
first appearance . In 1899, Cook County, Illinois established the first juvenile court in the United
States. What s more, the juvenile is then appointed a lawyer by the court. The attorney will receive all
the facts, information, a list of witnesses, and a list of evidence to work the case. The juvenile can plea
not guilty, guilty, or nolo contendere, this signifies that the juvenile is not pleading guilty or not guilty.
Either way, the case will be tried on the base of the evidence presented. If the juvenile is found guilty
of his or her offense, the court bailiff will fingerprint them and arrest him or her. The juvenile will then
be transported to DJJ or county jail. If the juvenile is found guilty and only receives probation

What Is The Truth That Scout Learned In To Kill A Mockingbird
One truth Scout learns is that not all people are what they seem. For the entirety of the book, Scout
perceived Arthur Radley as a terrifying murderer. When she finally meets Arthur, she realizes she was
wrong. Scout could not understand Arthur because she had not climbed into his skin and walked
around in it (Lee 39). This truth is exceptionally important because in high school there is the
possibility to make many new friends and enemies. One must know that people are not always what
they seem. You should not be quick to judge because you do not know what is going on in their life.
While reading this novel, I pictured Atticus Finch as a younger version of my grandfather. The
physical description matched him, as well as the personality description. My grandpa has a strong
moral code, is civil, and will stand up for what he believes is right. His priority is always family.
Similar to Atticus, he values reading. Every evening he would read books by himself of to his kids.
When I was younger, he used to babysit me and we would always read The Swiss Family Robinson. ...

AFL Is Crucial To Student Learning
AFL is crucial to student learning and teacher achievement due to its many benefits. When
assessments are planned and prepared with a purpose it is known to enhance learning and motivate
students, hence there are many benefits to AFL. Providing constant and timely feedback about the
teaching and learning processes to the teachers and students, helping students to become more
responsible towards their own learning and developing self reflective skills in students are just a few
benefits (Center for Teaching, 2014). Additionally AFL also helps teachers in addressing student errors
or lack of understanding in a appropriate manner; fosters an attitude in students that values
understanding and long term retention as well as increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore teachers knowledge, skills and competencies in classroom assessment practices are very
important (Koloi Keaikitse, 2012). As teachers play a major role in student achievements and
preparing them for future, it is essential for them to understand how to assess and evaluate students
learning outcomes (Koloi Keaikitse, 2012). For this reason, Reynolds, Livingston, Willson, (2009);
McMillan, (2008); Nitko, (2001) maintain the common argument that because AFL plays a vital role
in teaching and learning related activities teachers should master basic assessment competencies.
Without this ability the type of assessment will be useless for the future learning of the students. For
example, most common type of assessment provided in the classrooms are pen and paper tests taken at
the end of a unit, the result from this is never used to improved student learning as teachers perceive
the topic as completed and done with. Vandeyar and Killen (2003) argued that regardless of
educational setting, high quality assessment practices should satisfy essential principles such as
validity, reliability, fairness, discrimination, and meaningfulness. For Vandeyar and Killen (2003), if
teachers have a clear understanding of these principles; they can have an informed framework of using
assessment results to make better informed decisions from assessment results. When teachers
misunderstand these principles, their assessment practices are more likely to generate worthless
information and this might hinder them applying various classroom assessment strategies and form to
assess and evaluate the students. Therefore in order to be more competent and knowledgeable in AFL;
teachers are in need of professional development in order to foster effective AFL in in their
classrooms. In addition, another factor that will increase an awareness of classroom assessment

Taking a Look at Mine Warfare
Mine warfare is the strategic, operational, and tactical use of sea mines and the countermeasures to
defeat them. These weapons are so dangerous and efficient which is why foreign navies and even
terrorist possess these weapons. The history of these weapons goes back to 1776; a year after our
nation s Navy was born. A man named David Bushnell created a mine that was composed of a
watertight keg, filled with black powder and a flintlock detonator which was suspended from a float
(Levie). The kegs were first used in the Delaware River to destroy British ships downriver during the
Revolutionary War. Along with the creation of the floating mines, Bushnell also created a drift model
of the mines that exploded on contact. As time went on, the Naval Branch increased in size and so did
the evolution and use of mines. Around 1863, Confederate Congress established the Torpedo Service
whose mission was to sow southern waterways with the kegs, which were very inexpensive at the
time. It was not until World War I when mines were being laid across the seas in large amounts to
prevent German U boats from destroying our warships. Almost twenty five years later, during the
Second World War, modern magnetic, acoustic, and pressure sensitive mines were first developed. The
deployment of mines by submarine and aircraft suddenly came into play, which spark inventors to
begin developing counter measures. Along with these counter measures, the military begin to establish
a base line by which all

buy and some fresh food to eat. It was so hot outside i had to stop and take a break. I sat on a bench
faraway from other people so i can cool down. Where i sat was a lot of shade so I started cooling
down fast then suddenly I felt a cold breeze shiver down my spine and as I turned around i see a tall
skinny man behind me. He was sort of hunched over and had a mischievous smile on his face he
stepped closer to me and said, My you have very beautiful eyes and nice tan skin! I m sure the color
green would look so beautiful on you. I gave him an awkward smile and nervously said T Thank you..
Here take this necklace I m sure you ll take very good care of it. he said with a devious smile on his
face. The necklace reminded me on an ancient Egyptian actifact, it had gold with emerald jewels on it
and in the middle has a big golden beetle with small rubies on it. Amazed I said, oh no sir i can t take
that, it must of costed you a fortune. he came closer making me fear for my own life and he firmly
said, Take it..I insist i just nodded my head i fear and watched him leave. The necklace is very
beautiful, but why would give it to a random stranger? I continued shopping trying to forget what just
happened. I got many compliments on my new necklace and many people tried to buy

The Impact Of The Hubble Space Telescope
Introduction
The sky has been observed for centuries, with many great minds pioneering the early devices to see
beyond our sky and deeper universe. New discoveries about our universe have impacted our lives and
research immensely. It could be said that discoveries in the universe don t impact our life too much
here on Earth, but Quantum Mechanics a field of physics which has been utilizing Hubble s deep
space telescopes in the last couple of decades, is the only reason we have modern computers. The
main aims to be investigated are; the impacts of the Hubble Space Telescope, why it has been
important, the physics behind it, the cost and problems it has faced. All will be researched and
analysed throughout this investigation.

got it into space, the first images came back blurry, and it was discovered that Hubble needed a

Hubble s budget and also delay Hubble for another 3 years until fixed. Since its launch Hubble has

Fences August Wilson Analysis
People build fences to keep intruders out and to keep their house safe. When August Wilson wrote
Fences all the characters had different reasons on why they wanted to build a fence or try to get out of
the fence. In the story, the fence can also be seen as symbolic of the the things Troy wants to keep out
the things that are different. In the dialogue between him and Cory, Cory said Tell mama I ll be back
for my things. and Troy say, They ll be on the other side of that fence (2.5). He sort of use the fence as
a dividing line between him and his son and a physical barrier that separates them from one another.
Rose wanted a fence built to keep her family in and other other. In her case, she wants to keep

Disadvantages Of Software Development Life Cycle Part B (1.1) Introduction A software development process, also known as a software development life cycle (SDLC) can be explained as a structure, imposed on the development of a software product. The software development life cycle (SDLC) is an umbrella term for the overall process of developing, implementing, and retiring information systems through a multiple step process from initiation, training, documentation , design, analysis, maintenance, and consulting. As a result of these weaknesses of the waterfall model, the spiral model was developed which emphasizes iterations of the phases with each phase producing on early Prototype representing a part of the overall system. This helps in demonstrating a proof of concept early in development. This model is similar to the incremental model, but with more emphasis placed on risk analysis. A software project repeatedly passes through these phases in iterations (called spirals in this model). • 4. Causes Of The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill The 1989 Exxon Valdez Oil Spill was the largest ship based oil spill in US waters where more than 11 million gallons of crude oil poured into the Gulf of Alaska after the ship ran aground on Bligh Reef in Prince William Sound, Alaska. The main causes of the accident were attributed to a fatigued crew, a lack of a proper navigation team while transiting through the Sound, and an inadequate ship design. The oil spill led to federal legislation for ship hull requirements, oil spill prevention and response improvements, and new escorting requirements through the Sound. On 22 March 1989, the Exxon Valdez arrived in Valdez, Alaska at 2330 to begin loading cargo bound for Long Beach, CA (Alaska Oil 1990, 5). Capt. Joseph Hazelwood and other officers drove into town the following morning with William Murphy, the pilot who would be leading the ship through the Valdez Narrows. According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB 1989,29), Hazelwood in addition to finishing ship business and running errands had a few alcoholic drinks that afternoon at a local bar and at least one more drink as the group waited for dinner. At 2024 on 23 March, the officers returned to the ship at 2024 and found out that the ship was ready to depart at 2100. The ship was originally scheduled to depart at 2200. Before the officers returned, Third Mate Gregory Cousins had performed pre departure equipment tests and found that the tests were successful. The ship set sail and was clear of the dock ... Every summer, I travel to Mexico to visit my father, Luis. We do something distinctive each year. Whether it s going to the beach or driving a tractor, I always end up amused. This summer, my brother Edel, my father, and I were supposed to sleep in a cabin, which was in tremendous mountains, go hiking, swimming in breath taking waterfalls and zip lining on one of the world s most enormous ziplines. I was extremely anxious to begin my paradisiacal vacation. On the other hand, Edel was not as eager as I was to potentially die. First of all, it was a excessively safe zip line, that also had wagers which stated if you were harmed they were not responsible. SOO, he had a slight point. ADHS is a large and complex agency which encompasses many departments, divisions, and offices. As a result, each component and program collects different data and evaluates their capacities differently. Therefore, for this evaluation capacity analysis, the program that will be focused on is, the High Risk Perinatal Program/ Newborn Intensive Care Program (HRPP/NICP) within the Bureau of Women and Children s Health (BWCH), Office of Children s Health (OCH). This capacity analysis draws on data collected from previous evaluations, as well as data compiled from conversations with agency staff. • 8. Cannibalism Is Not Illegal ( Eveleth ) The Other, Other, White Meat We had to eat these dead bodies, and that was it , this is what Andes plane crash survivor, Roberto Canessa, had to say on his experience with cannibalism. Cannibalism is the consumption of a member of the same species. Consuming human flesh is not against the law in the United States, therefore cannibalism is not illegal (Eveleth). In the eyes of the law, murdering someone to eat is wrong, but the act of eating a human is not. To Americans the simple thought of eating another human is sickening. To most that is true, but to others consuming human flesh is a way of life. Some cultures practice cannibalism for their own spiritual beliefs and others have to eat human flesh to survive. Human flesh has proteins most want when eating meat. The act of eating human meat has gotten a bad reputation over the years, looking back in history, people thousands of years ago have different views. Cannibalism is a way to survive, with the proteins necessary to do so, and a way for cultures to express their beliefs. Cannibalism is a taboo topic most people do not know enough about. People eat people for a variety of reasons, the most well known being killers getting a thrill from eating their victims. Although not everyone who is a cannibal gets a high from eating humans, Americans still see it as evil. • 10. Analysis Of Nothing Gold Can Stay By Jane Flanders The world has several great poets and numerous mind blowing works, each with its own way of portraying its own message using symbolism to represent lessons of everyday life. Jane Flanders wrote the poem named Cloud Painter she shows the world from an artistic way, using a painter and his canvas to help the reader picture the true meaning behind the words and images created. Robert Frost takes on the same idea, but uses a less complex example so that it makes his work easy to understand while not revealing the actual meaning of the poem. Frost and Flanders are just two of the many poets that use nature as a way of explaining the very lessons in life. Each poet has a different way of presenting similar images but from a different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Flanders uses this line to represent the things opportunities in the world that are there and difficult to get without giving up something in return. The special chances that are there from the start are often not appreciated but the ones that have been worked for do not tend to lose their value over time. Robert Frost on the other hand used a more fictional approach in Nothing Gold Can Stay . Nature s first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold. This couplet has one key theme that not only lies in the word choice but in the writing, itself. The start of spring is when all the new flowers blossom and the leaves on trees become greener. The start of something fresh and lovely is the main point in this line but this is also a way of saying that the best things that are free are given without any strings or repercussions are taken advantage of. The next two lines Her early leaf s a flower; But only so an hour. In other words, the possibilities that are given throughout life can also be taken away just as fast. In Frost s poem, he uses the garden of Eden to help the reader to imagine where this idea is heading. In the first sentence Frost states that Natures first green is gold this represents the very first blooming of flowers and the return of the green leaves during the springtime which when applied to life, it ... • 13. Analysis Of John Gardner s Beowulf John Gardner offers an alternate interpretation of the old english epic Beowulf by narrating the experiences of the monster Grendel, after whom the book is named. Grendel conveys himself as a homicidal, ravenous beast, only capable of destruction and chaos. Therefore, one can conclude that Grendel is indeed evil, and that he well deserves the cessation of his existence. However, depending on the philosophical ideologies and the relative perspective one finds self in, they may conclude differently. Nevertheless, the reader may likely to find one s self both sympathizing with, and scorning Grendel, because, as the 10th century old english monster says, balance is everything . Evil, like many other things we humans take as absolutes, is ultimately a matter of perspective. President Barack Obama once said ...evil is senseless. It s beyond reason . Senselessness immorality often coincide in topics surrounding evil. However, as many philosophers and political thinkers alike question, what defines morality ? A Nihilist may think that all values are baseless and that nothing can be known or communicated , nor would one have [any] purpose, other than, perhaps, an impulse to destroy (Pratt). Grendel has a nihilistic epiphany early in his life, when he narrates I understood that the world was nothing: a mechanical chaos of casual, brute enmity on which we stupidly impose our hopes and fears (Garder 21 22). • 16. Italian Cinema Paper Blow Up, his second colored film, investigates how man deals with the flux even though he is separated from it. The viewer is first introduced to downtown London. A grayish black jeep, teeming with shouting young adults, crawls over a cobble stone hill into a gray blue sky and turns the corner. The jeep reappears in a wide street, young adults, painted as mimes, pour from the vehicle and flood the road. A small group passes by the protagonist Thomas, who hands one begging girl a crumpled bill from the back seat of his car. The camera attaches to Thomas, and the viewer stares down at him as he drives through a tunnel. Unlike L Eclisse, Thomas is immediately depicted as a moving factor in the flux of reality. The viewer knows his landscape before they know him, and Antonioni tells the viewer they will not know Thomas when the viewer does not see the jeep turn a corner. The viewer is driving blindly into Thomas s story and will have to make conclusions based on separate pieces of information. They are further separated from Thomas because Antonioni gives us permission to figuratively judge him by literally looking down at him. Thomas s ground position suggests Thomas is a man who functions in human utility and even the viewer, who Antonioni does not know, is closer to reality than his character. Geography has turned out to be the study of man in space. Between mass media and frequent travel the child is bombarded with impressions about the planet he lives on. In today s world the child hears random words, names of countries with upheavels and wars they get scared. They really need to know where they are, even on a larger scale. • 23. Creation Myths In Hesiod, Ovid, And Apollodorus Ancient authors such as Hesiod, Ovid, and Apollodorus set forth to record what they knew of their gods, especially how these gods created the world and the beings inside of it. Each author provides different variations of the myths that surround creationism. Modern westerners are familiar with the creation stories provided within Genesis, not realizing that many elements were borrowed and inspired by other cultures, such as the Greeks. These myths, even within the same book, can contradicting or confusing. The story of a flood is popular within many creation myths, the most famous of today told within Genesis. Ovid declares that Zeus was mad at humanity and commanded Poseidon to flood the earth (1.262 313). For unknown reasons, Deucalion and Pyrrha have a boat and survive the flood. They begin to worship the gods, when Themis whispers to them to throw the bones if their mother. They take this to mean to throw rocks, as Gaia is Mother Earth. They obey, and these rocks turn into humans and they begin to repopulate the earth (1.314 449). In Apollodorus account of the flood, Prometheus, the father of Deucalion, warns his son of the flood and tells him to build an ark. After the water subsides, Deucalion and Pyrrha worship Zeus and he sends Hermes to instruct the couple on repopulating the earth. Once again, Deucalion and Pyrrha throw rocks, with this time, Deucalion s rocks turning into men and Pyrrha s turning into women (Apollod. Bibl. 1.46 48). • 26. What Is The Truth That Scout Learned In To Kill A Mockingbird One truth Scout learns is that not all people are what they seem. For the entirety of the book, Scout perceived Arthur Radley as a terrifying murderer. When she finally meets Arthur, she realizes she was wrong. Scout could not understand Arthur because she had not climbed into his skin and walked around in it (Lee 39). This truth is exceptionally important because in high school there is the possibility to make many new friends and enemies. One must know that people are not always what they seem. You should not be quick to judge because you do not know what is going on in their life. While reading this novel, I pictured Atticus Finch as a younger version of my grandfather. The physical description matched him, as well as the personality description. My grandpa has a strong moral code, is civil, and will stand up for what he believes is right. His priority is always family. Similar to Atticus, he values reading. Every evening he would read books by himself of to his kids. • 27. AFL Is Crucial To Student Learning AFL is crucial to student learning and teacher achievement due to its many benefits. When assessments are planned and prepared with a purpose it is known to enhance learning and motivate students, hence there are many benefits to AFL. Providing constant and timely feedback about the teaching and learning processes to the teachers and students, helping students to become more responsible towards their own learning and developing self reflective skills in students are just a few benefits (Center for Teaching, 2014). Additionally AFL also helps teachers in addressing student errors or lack of understanding in a appropriate manner; fosters an attitude in students that values understanding and long term retention as well as increase ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Therefore teachers knowledge, skills and competencies in classroom assessment practices are very important (Koloi Keaikitse, 2012). As teachers play a major role in student achievements and preparing them for future, it is essential for them to understand how to assess and evaluate students learning outcomes (Koloi Keaikitse, 2012). For this reason, Reynolds, Livingston, Willson, (2009); McMillan, (2008); Nitko, (2001) maintain the common argument that because AFL plays a vital role in teaching and learning related activities teachers should master basic assessment competencies. Without this ability the type of assessment will be useless for the future learning of the students. For example, most common type of assessment provided in the classrooms are pen and paper tests taken at the end of a unit, the result from this is never used to improved student learning as teachers perceive the topic as completed and done with. Vandeyar and Killen (2003) argued that regardless of educational setting, high quality assessment practices should satisfy essential principles such as validity, reliability, fairness, discrimination, and meaningfulness. For Vandeyar and Killen (2003), if teachers have a clear understanding of these principles; they can have an informed framework of using assessment results to make better informed decisions from assessment results. When teachers misunderstand these principles, their assessment practices are more likely to generate worthless information and this might hinder them applying various classroom assessment strategies and form to assess and evaluate the students. Therefore in order to be more competent and knowledgeable in AFL; teachers are in need of professional development in order to foster effective AFL in in their classrooms. In addition, another factor that will increase an awareness of classroom assessment ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Taking a Look at Mine Warfare Mine warfare is the strategic, operational, and tactical use of sea mines and the countermeasures to defeat them. These weapons are so dangerous and efficient which is why foreign navies and even terrorist possess these weapons. The history of these weapons goes back to 1776; a year after our nation s Navy was born. A man named David Bushnell created a mine that was composed of a watertight keg, filled with black powder and a flintlock detonator which was suspended from a float (Levie). The kegs were first used in the Delaware River to destroy British ships downriver during the Revolutionary War. Along with the creation of the floating mines, Bushnell also created a drift model of the mines that exploded on contact. As time went on, the Naval Branch increased in size and so did the evolution and use of mines. Around 1863, Confederate Congress established the Torpedo Service whose mission was to sow southern waterways with the kegs, which were very inexpensive at the time. It was not until World War I when mines were being laid across the seas in large amounts to prevent German U boats from destroying our warships. Almost twenty five years later, during the Second World War, modern magnetic, acoustic, and pressure sensitive mines were first developed. The deployment of mines by submarine and aircraft suddenly came into play, which spark inventors to begin developing counter measures. Along with these counter measures, the military begin to establish a base line by which all ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
