Maple Ridge is based on the demand of the individuals that attend and they offer

Maple Ridge, BC
■ Ridge Meadows Minor Hockey Association is apart of the

Most volunteer service sectors remain closely tied with
the local community and is operated primarily by

participant for this association, Maple Ridge takes huge
pride and joy with Rustlers Hockey, and I can see why it
is closely tied to our community.
■ This is an example of coaching, PE & recreation because
they offer fitness & sport age related programs that
contribute to long term athlete development & physical

focuses on the community of Maple Ridge and
makes enough profit to generate the cover of
costs only (Lunn, 2021, p. 8).
■ RMMLA is an example of PE, coaching &
recreation because although it is a volunteer-
based association, each coach needs NCCP

& sport related programs based off a certain
age cohort. RMMLA allows participants to
grow their athletic abilities, improve the

12. My takeaway from
Course Adventure #4…
■ After partaking in Course Adventure #4, I
enjoyed exploring the different service
sectors within my community. I have learned
a lot about the qualities of each service sector
and why something falls under that service
sector. Moreover, I have also deepened my
understanding of programs and events that
my community offers and am proud to be
apart of it.
■ I will continue to recognize each service
sector under its proper category and
appreciate the diversity and variety of
recreation, physical activity and coaching
programs that Maple Ridge has to offer!
