WITNESS
STATEMENT
On the side are my witness statement, these were
completed during I presented my pitch for my
magazine. Looking over this I can see that there is
possible improvements that I could make so that I
might be able to do better when presenting it. Further
to this, it goes over my strengths and weaknesses of
my pitch.
IMPROVEMENTS
Original Edited version
Following the feedback I have received from my peers I have replaced the artist’s
names with their more common logos, this is so that it makes it a lot easier to read as
if you know any of the artists that are featured then you will recognize their logos
straight away from your first look. However, in doing this it will make it harder for
some others that are massively into music but they are trying out the festival for the
experience.
IMPROVEMENTS TO THE BUDGET SUMMARY
For this slide I had to add on the printing and
design costs explaining the prices and how much
the overall cost will be depending on how much I
will be printing off.
EVIDENCE OF PITCH
Here is some photo evidence of me doing
my pitch. I have sent out a survey
monkey, this is so that I will be able to
receive quick and feedback from my
peers.
SURVEY MONKEY
Looking at the screenshots of my survey monkey
questions and answers above, in the first question you
can see, all the people that answered my question rated
my pitch around 60/100, responding to “how did I do
with presenting my pitch?”.
Looking over my results that I had received from sending
out my surveys I had received some feedback saying
”Make sure that you know what you’re talking about”
SURVEY MONKEY
CONTINUED
For question 3, “anything I could improve on my pitch?”,
for this question I gave the option of writing their own
personal comment as this would give me the chance to
receive in depth feedback where I can actually get an
idea of what I should improve on. One of the points that
I was given as feedback was that I should have made
notes so that I wouldn’t have struggled on what I should
have said instead of having to pause and think.
Secondly, on question 4, the question that I had asked
was “Do you agree with my final choice of festival
poster?”. I had received only 1 response saying yes.

LOCATION RECCE
In order to get to the stage of taking
photos, will need to fill out a location
recce. The reason for this is because it
will help me if I need to overlook
anything such as the risk assessment.
What is the product being advertised?
I will be advertising my music festival which will have some of the top artist at this current time.
My event will have some well-known sponsors such as foot asylum, monster energy and burger
king. With the advertisement I will make sure that when people see it they will get that it is open
to a much wider audience with a bigger age gap.
What are the aims and objectives you are trying to achieve?
The main aim that I want to get from the advertisement of the festival is to ensure that people
know about the event and are intrigued to buy a ticket with a group of friends so they will get the
full experience.
My objective from producing the poster print based advertisement is to try and get a lot of people
to buy a ticket and attend the event.
Target audience
Maslow – Even though the festival to a wide variety we do have a singular focus of audience which
is from 16 to 27. The reason for this is due to the type of musical genres that will be performed at
the event are primarily aimed towards the younger adults.
Katz – primarily I think that my festival I going to be a form of entertainment for the people that
attend it because they will be able to listen and watch their favourite acts perform some of their
best albums and singles. As people will aspire to be like some of their idols this will relate to
personal identity.
Hartley – for this event there is not strict rules in place to do with gender and which gender it is
targeted towards because both male and female can attend the festival.
Psychographics – due to a lot of people being new the intense experience of going to a festival
this could link to the section of Explorers because when people go to these events and use them
as a life changing experience where they will be able to shape themselves into something better.
Socio-economic needs – the groups that I want to be a part of my target audience will be groups
B and D. the reason for this is because group B will generally be the people who are 25+ this
means they will still be interested in the music that will be playing and they will have enough
money to pay for the ticket. On the other hand, group D will be at the ages of below 23,, this
would mean that they will possibly struggle to have the same monetary value as one of 25+
would.
What is the campaign message?
When the people come to my festival I want them to get a message of everyone is the
same and no one is alone in music, no matter who you are. The message that I’m going
with for the festival is going to be “the party never stops”.
Style or approach
The genre of my festival is going to be Pop and RnB as these are the genres that the
artists will be performing when they have their time slot. For the colours I will maintain a
lot of bright and vibrant colours to make it look more appealing to the audience.
Content
For the festival I will make sure that the people buying tickets will get a great amount of
joy watching some well-known artists perform some of their biggest hits. The use of
vibrant colours everywhere will make it look more inviting to everyone as it look very
exciting as well.
CAMPAIGN MESSAGE
For this festival, their USP would
be the people who would then be
performing at the festival on each
day. On the days of the festival
there will be different performers
for every separate day. Further to
this, on a whole, this events main
message from the festival would
be just to join in on the variety of
activities and all the music that
people can get involved on there.
PHOTOSHOOT PLAN
HOUSE STYLE
The colours that I will be using for the print based advertisement are going to red,
yellow, green and blue. The reason for this is because they are all very vibrant and
eye-catching colours which is exactly what I will need in order to try and sell the
festival through the use of the print based advertisement.
POSTER DESIGN
1st draft 2nd draft
POSTER STEP BY STEP
To make the font cover I first had to open a new blank A4 document so that it would
be the right size for if I wanted to advertise in a magazine. I added in ruler lines to
enable me to make things even within the document. I first edited the photo a little
bit so that it wasn’t as dark as the original picture. I then added in the logo and sized
it to what I thought was a good size. I then placed in the date and the artists. I looked
up the artists logo and pasted it into the Photoshop document. I used the magic
wand tool to select the logo and change the colour of it. To change the colour I used
the bucket tool. I found the logos for the sponsorships online and proceeded to paste
those into the document. I resized them by holding shift and using the free transform
option. I moved them around with the move tool.
RISK ASSESSMENT/
When taking the photos for my festival poster there were certain things that I had to
take into thought to make sure nothing were to get in the way of me getting the
perfect picture for the poster. Firstly, when taking the photos I would have to be
careful of my surroundings because if I did not assess my surroundings then this
could mean that when I would be taking the photos I could potentially lose my
footing or have someone interrupt me.
SAFE-WORKING AND PRACTICES
Further to this, following taking the pictures I would then need to resize the photo I
would have to ensure that I get the size perfect so that it doesn’t overlap or make the
photo itself look strange; to make sure I don’t make this mistake, when trying to
change the size of the photo I will need to hold down the ‘Shift’ button so that it will
keep the image the same size.
HOW MY POSTER REFLECTS MY CAMPAIGN MESSAGE
Looking at my poster that I have made, this will
link with my campaign message because of how
I have selected artists that do not have a lot of
profanity in their music which suits what I want
the festival to be like. In doing this, it will make
the festival a lot more family friendly as the
majority of festivals will have drug abuse and a
lot of drinking which I don’t want to be
happening at Luna festival due to there
potentially being families.

  • 10. LOCATION RECCE In order to get to the stage of taking photos, will need to fill out a location recce. The reason for this is because it will help me if I need to overlook anything such as the risk assessment.
  • 11. What is the product being advertised? I will be advertising my music festival which will have some of the top artist at this current time. My event will have some well-known sponsors such as foot asylum, monster energy and burger king. With the advertisement I will make sure that when people see it they will get that it is open to a much wider audience with a bigger age gap. What are the aims and objectives you are trying to achieve? The main aim that I want to get from the advertisement of the festival is to ensure that people know about the event and are intrigued to buy a ticket with a group of friends so they will get the full experience. My objective from producing the poster print based advertisement is to try and get a lot of people to buy a ticket and attend the event. Target audience Maslow – Even though the festival to a wide variety we do have a singular focus of audience which is from 16 to 27. The reason for this is due to the type of musical genres that will be performed at the event are primarily aimed towards the younger adults. Katz – primarily I think that my festival I going to be a form of entertainment for the people that attend it because they will be able to listen and watch their favourite acts perform some of their best albums and singles. As people will aspire to be like some of their idols this will relate to personal identity. Hartley – for this event there is not strict rules in place to do with gender and which gender it is targeted towards because both male and female can attend the festival. Psychographics – due to a lot of people being new the intense experience of going to a festival this could link to the section of Explorers because when people go to these events and use them as a life changing experience where they will be able to shape themselves into something better. Socio-economic needs – the groups that I want to be a part of my target audience will be groups B and D. the reason for this is because group B will generally be the people who are 25+ this means they will still be interested in the music that will be playing and they will have enough money to pay for the ticket. On the other hand, group D will be at the ages of below 23,, this would mean that they will possibly struggle to have the same monetary value as one of 25+ would. What is the campaign message? When the people come to my festival I want them to get a message of everyone is the same and no one is alone in music, no matter who you are. The message that I’m going with for the festival is going to be “the party never stops”. Style or approach The genre of my festival is going to be Pop and RnB as these are the genres that the artists will be performing when they have their time slot. For the colours I will maintain a lot of bright and vibrant colours to make it look more appealing to the audience. Content For the festival I will make sure that the people buying tickets will get a great amount of joy watching some well-known artists perform some of their biggest hits. The use of vibrant colours everywhere will make it look more inviting to everyone as it look very exciting as well.
  • 12. CAMPAIGN MESSAGE For this festival, their USP would be the people who would then be performing at the festival on each day. On the days of the festival there will be different performers for every separate day. Further to this, on a whole, this events main message from the festival would be just to join in on the variety of activities and all the music that people can get involved on there.
  • 14. HOUSE STYLE The colours that I will be using for the print based advertisement are going to red, yellow, green and blue. The reason for this is because they are all very vibrant and eye-catching colours which is exactly what I will need in order to try and sell the festival through the use of the print based advertisement.
  • 16. POSTER STEP BY STEP To make the font cover I first had to open a new blank A4 document so that it would be the right size for if I wanted to advertise in a magazine. I added in ruler lines to enable me to make things even within the document. I first edited the photo a little bit so that it wasn’t as dark as the original picture. I then added in the logo and sized it to what I thought was a good size. I then placed in the date and the artists. I looked up the artists logo and pasted it into the Photoshop document. I used the magic wand tool to select the logo and change the colour of it. To change the colour I used the bucket tool. I found the logos for the sponsorships online and proceeded to paste those into the document. I resized them by holding shift and using the free transform option. I moved them around with the move tool.
  • 17. RISK ASSESSMENT/ When taking the photos for my festival poster there were certain things that I had to take into thought to make sure nothing were to get in the way of me getting the perfect picture for the poster. Firstly, when taking the photos I would have to be careful of my surroundings because if I did not assess my surroundings then this could mean that when I would be taking the photos I could potentially lose my footing or have someone interrupt me.
  • 18. SAFE-WORKING AND PRACTICES Further to this, following taking the pictures I would then need to resize the photo I would have to ensure that I get the size perfect so that it doesn’t overlap or make the photo itself look strange; to make sure I don’t make this mistake, when trying to change the size of the photo I will need to hold down the ‘Shift’ button so that it will keep the image the same size.
  • 19. HOW MY POSTER REFLECTS MY CAMPAIGN MESSAGE Looking at my poster that I have made, this will link with my campaign message because of how I have selected artists that do not have a lot of profanity in their music which suits what I want the festival to be like. In doing this, it will make the festival a lot more family friendly as the majority of festivals will have drug abuse and a lot of drinking which I don’t want to be happening at Luna festival due to there potentially being families.
