3. Advert of Inspiration
The main headliners are
in a different colour to
the rest of the artists. This
is because it will stand
out from the other artists
so people are more
attracted to look at the
headliners. I will ‘repeat’
(Steve Neale) this for my
print based
advertisement because
people that are looking to
come to the festival will
want to know who is
heading
The target audience is young
adults (16-25) within C1-E
category because this type of
music wouldn’t appeal to
anyone older then 25 I feel.
I would ‘repeat’
(Steve Neale) the
contrasting colours
as this makes the
poster stand out
from other festivals
of its genre. The
connotations
behind the colours
could be danger
which goes with the
festival name
rampage.
Also the poster has its strapline at
the top of the poster as this is part
of their branding and this is how
people will recognize the festival.
5. Target Audience
Maslow – They would be self-actualization as these types of people do things for the
experience of things.
Katz – The audience would be the type to go to be entertained and because it would
be to escape reality from everyday life.
Hartley – Since they will be a lot of young adults going there will be around 16-25 and
probably a lot more makes then females would be attending as stereotypically males
would prefer the genre more.
Psychographics – They would be reformers as they are people who want the freedom
from restrictions and at festivals there are less restrictions then in normal life. Also
they would be explorer as these sort of people do things for the experience and the
adventure and the festival would be a new experience for people going first time.
Socio-economic needs – C1-E because the people that would be going to this type of
festival would be students and young adults who usually have a low spending power.
6. Logo Design
The logo design for the poster will be the same
as my poster of inspiration as it is unique and
suits the genre of music. Obviously, I will be
changing the colours of it to suit my house style
(green and black). This will be part of my
branding for the music festival.
7. Main Headliners/Artists
The artists that will be playing that this sort of
festival would be drum and bass MCs and DJs as
this is the genre of music. The headliners will be
in a different colour then the rest of the artists
as people are looking for the headliners more.
By making them a different colour they will
stand out more to the audience.
8. Audio Visual Advertisement
If I was to make an audio visual advertisement it
consist of videos of the main headlines which
are DJ Guv, SASASAS and Macky Gee. Also it
would include the environment that the people
that would be in for example the lighting and
smoke. This is because people would get a feel
about what the festival will be like to see if they
want to go.
9. Print Based

Colour Scheme
The colour scheme for my festival poster
will be two contrasting colours for example
the poster of my inspiration it yellow and
black. I will stick to having black and then
change out the yellow for green, as these
are contrasting.
Marketing
The type of marketing I will be using is a poster. This is because when
people walk past and see the poster, they might stop and look at the poster
and read it which may lead to them finding more information about the
festival and may lead them to go the festival.
Logo Names
As my festival of inspiration is
called ‘Rampage’ I would like to
call my festival something
similar.
1. Boiling Point
2. Uproar
3. Tempest
Slogans
The best drum and bass festival in the
UK
Frequency of release
This is to keep all the people that are interested
and that are going to the festival up to date on
the artist that will be performing at the festival.
11. Mood Board Conclusion
I have chosen the pictures in my mood board as
I would like to see the styles of some other drum
and bass festival posters. This is because I could
use some of their ideas in my own poster, as I do
not want to reinvent the wheel.
12. House Style
For my house styles, it is important to make the
poster aesthetically pleasing and and something
that people will remember. I will be using
contrasting colours like green and black as this is
what my poster of inspiration is like but yellow
and black and stands out well.
13. Draft Layouts
These are my hand drawn drafts for my poster. I used this because it gives me a rough
idea of what it will look like and gives me the chance to make any changes to the design
of the poster.
14. Graphic Layouts
These are my graphic
layouts for my idea of
the poster that I will be
making. Graphic layouts
are better then hand
drawn drafts because it
gives you more of an
idea of what the poster
will be like.
15. How I manipulated an image
I used this image form my poster
of inspiration to use on my
festival poster. I manipulated the
image by changing the colour of
the image to suit my festival
posters house style.
I used this green smoke image on my
poster. I had to manipulate this image
to be able to use it. I cropped the
image to the size I wanted and then I
faded it.

PRODUCTION PLAN
LAUNCH DATE – SATURDAY 27th March
19. Launch date of posters
The launch date of the poster is on the 27th
March 2018. this is a good date as it four
months before the festival will take place.
21. Budget Summary
Staff Position Salary
Editor 32.500
Photographer
s
30,750
Marketing 32,500
Finance 37,750
Design 37,500
Equipment cost
Office space £212,480
Apple MacBook (x5) £5, 995
Adobe C5.6 master
collection
£9,179
Cameras (x3) £687
This is how much I would need to pay the staff make will be
producing my festival poster and the cost of the equipment
that will be needed to be able to make the poster. I will be
paying the staff the average salary that they would be paid.
I don’t need many people working on the poster which
means that I wont need as much equipment for them to
use.
22. Risk Assessment
When I got images of from the internet to use in
my poster I had to manipulate them. This is
because otherwise the company or person that
owns that image could sew me for copyright.
23. Software Risk assessment
When editing my poster I used different tools on
Photoshop. I had to hold down command T
when resizing an image t make sure the image
doesn’t warp. I also used the colour drop tool to
be able to get the same colour throughout my
poster so I keep the same colour scheme.
Finally, I used the the transparency tool to make
the image more transparent.
24. Legal and Ethical
The Code- It is the cornerstone of the system of voluntary self-regulation to
which they have made a binding contractual commitment. It balances both
the rights of the individual and the public's right to know.
Accuracy- This is when the media company has to make sure that what
they are publishing is accurate towards the IPSO guidelines. However if the
company is inaccuracy when this must be corrected or they have to write
an apology. However the publisher could be sewed by the person they
have accused if they have no evidence of what they say.
Privacy- This is when the editor has to be careful about what they are
writing about someone and they don’t expose any sensitive information.
The code says that ‘Everyone is entitled to respect for his or her private and
family life, home, health and including digital communications’ so this
means that if an editor mentions any of this they can take action against
them. For example the festival cannot expose any of this private
information when writing about an artists without their permission.
However if the editor has consent from the person they are allowed to
mention these topics.
Harassment- This is when the editor or journalists cannot engage in any
form of intimidation or harassment. This includes not persist in asking
questions, telephoning and if they are on someone's property and they are
asked to leave they have to leave. For example the festival cannot force
someone into doing an performance, otherwise they could be persecuted.
25. Legal and Ethical
Copyright- is when there is a legal right which lasts for
a certain amount of years so you can’t print, publish,
perform, film, or record literary, artistic or musical
material that already exists.
This is on the bottom of the ‘Rampage’ website, this
means that everything this website belongs to the
festival. If anyone uses the information or pictures on
any of the festivals websites they will be persecuted for
copyright. As all the stuff on any of the festivals
websites belong to the festival and you have to ask
permission of them to be able to use their photos or
information.
The copyright act was changed in 1988 as the Design
and Patents act. This is when people have their own
right to write and put their own photos in a print. Also
the person who toke the photo are able to protect
them so no one else are able to use them unless they
pay them or ask permission.

publications/copyright-acts-and-
related-laws
26. Royalties
Royalties is when a magazine has included content which is
copyrighted and if someone else includes this information
then they have to pay the original magazine.
So this means that my festival poster if another festival wants
to use the same information that my festival poster has they
have to pay the poster to use that information.
NLA media access is working with the Publishers Licensing
Society (PLS) to ensure all UK magazine publishers are signed
up to receive royalties from copies made of their content. This
mean if you sign up to this my festival poster will be protected
from being copied.

27. Campaign message
The message that I will be trying to get across to
the audience will be to create an atmosphere
where people can enjoy themselves and feel like
they have a lot of freedom.
The slogan for my festival will be the same as my
poster of inspiration as I think this is a good
slogan and people will be attracted to it.
