The marketing team will advertise their new film opening through various media channels including TV, radio, cinemas, billboards, buses, magazines, newspapers, and YouTube to reach their target audiences. They will create film posters and trailers to display on billboards, buses, cinemas, TV, and YouTube to generate interest and awareness of the film. The film's target audience is predominantly teenagers aged 15-18, though they also aim to reach middle-aged women as a secondary target.
2. ADVERTISEMENT
We have decided to advertise our film opening using the following:
• TV
• Radio
• Cinemas
• Billboards
• Buses
• Magazines/newspapers
• YouTube
We have chosen to use a variety of ways to advertise our film opening to ensure that our target audience will be able
to view it. We will create a film poster that we can put on the buses and planes and billboards. We will create a trailer
that will be shown in the cinemas and on the TV.
3. TV AND RADIO
• On TV we will advertise our film opening in
between programs and during adverts. It will
mainly be on the channels in which films are
showing, and mainly the drama genre films.
There will also be the trailer during the adverts.
• On the radio there will be a shot description on
what the film is about so that people listening
will hear about our film. From this the can go
on YouTube and watch the opening and the
trailer.
4. CINEMA AND BILLBOARDS
• In the cinema there will be a trailer showing of our film during
the adverts before the other films start. Our film opening will
mainly be showed in he viewings were a drama film is
showing, so that the audience relate to the genre.
• On billboards we will have our film poster to advertise it, from
this people can research our film if they are interested and
maybe watch it at the cinema, or watch the trailer on
YouTube. An example of this is the billboard for war horse
which is also a drama film.
5. BUSES AND MAGAZINES
• We will also put our film poser on buses, so that
when people are waiting to get on the bus they will
see the advert and hopefully be interested in our
film and then want to watch it at the cinema. The
bus shown above has a billboard on it wit an
advertisement or another film, this is what our film
poster will look on a bus.
• We will also put our film poster in magazines so
that it will target magazine readers who don’t
always go o the cinema.
6. YOUTUBE
• We will use YouTube to show the opening and trailer of
our film. This will hopefully interest the viewers, then
they will want to watch our film in the cinema and it will
become more popular as people will discuss the film with
friends and family. This will then widen our audience and
we will have more viewers of our film. Below is the
YouTube channel in which our film opening is on.
7. TARGET AUDIENCE
The target audience for our film is
predominantly teenagers and because of
the sensitive topics within the opening
the film will have BBFC certificate of 15.
However, our secondary target audience
is middle aged women, the parents of
teenagers. Our film influences are (Girl,
interrupted) and (Its kind of a funny
story) which both have a certificate of
15.
8. SPONSORSHIP
• Within regards to sponsorships we haven’t received any contact
from companies who would like to work with us however we are
still planning and continuing to contact minor film production
companies.
