▪How does you product engage with audiences
and how would it be distributed as a real
media text.
TEACHERS RESPONSES
▪ Once we finished filming our movie we showed our film to our
male teachers, who are our primary target audience and
received a lot of good comments but also some improvements.
These included:
▪ such as the quality of outer music
▪ choice of more dramatic intense music
▪ title of the film not matching with the film’s storyline clearly
▪ need of smoother transitions between shots
▪ the cliffhanger at the end wasn’t engaging enough
▪ syncing audio to images on-screen (Zipper scene)
TARGET AUDIENCE : AGE
▪ Our target audience age would be
around the ages of 16 to adults (early
40s) since we a majorly targeting the
teenage male groups of people which
will be shown below on our survey.
▪ As shown in the results retrieved, the
majority of our audience is male and
most are above the ages of 18 and
above the age of 16 meaning that we
target the teenage to early to mid adult
audiences.
▪ We used Google Forms to collect this
data.
DID OUR FILM SUIT THE
CRIME ACTION GENRE?
▪ 76% said the film suited the
action genre which is a very
positive comment about the film
since the audiences reaction is
what really is important.
THE TITLE OF
THE FILM
▪ Majority of people think the title
was good but some though
there was improvement needed
which is shown in the graph
above.
IMPROVEMENTS
▪ Majority of improvements resolved around
the music we used and the Transitions that
were a bit too rough than we had intended.
▪ Another issue was the quality of our Ident, it
wasn't as professional since it wasn't made a
high standard
DISTRIBUTION
I believe that Warner Bros. Pictures would be an appropriate distributor
for our film since they work along similar films such as the Batman and
other films that include binary opposites present in our film opening and
a subgenre of crime.Warner Bros also own HBO streaming services
which could be used to market our film and help promote it.
Warner Bros is a suitable choice for us as
they had announced that they would be
releasing all of its 2021 film on the streaming
platform HBO at the same times as its
theatrical releases.
This is done so that they can attract or pull in
a bigger audience or subscribers since the
whole COVID-19 pandemic has affected film
companies hard since not many viewers are
able to watch the film in cinemas, so
releasing their films on streaming platforms
would help them out.
▪ The films that will be published onto HBO will not be there permanently
as Warner Bros had stated that they will only be doing for this for one
year (2021) and they also stated that the HBO max release will be limited
as it is going be like theatrical releases so the films all cycle over time
and add new films instead of having the same ones over and over.
So this is a growing trend that I'd want our film to be part of.
Simultaneous release is used by film companies to have a diverse
audience, this means that they theatrically release a film that they are
going to release on different platforms, this helps a film do well
financially.
An example of this is Warner Bros studios, since the Covid-19
pandemic has affected them they decided to simultaneously release
their films to maximise audience even through such a pandemic.
4K ultra HD and HDR
I would want The Baggage to be released in 4K ultra HD and
HDR so that people can watch it at the closest experience to
going to the cinema.
Warner Bros had stated that through this “unpredicted” time
meaning the whole COVID-19 conditions around the world
leads to low capacity of viewers at cinemas meaning less
profits for the company since not many people are able to
watch the film or even go to the cinema,
So they came up with a creative idea of simultaneously
releasing their films in this format on streaming platforms so
that the portion of audience who are unable to go to cinemas
can watch the film at home but also because it will help the
film do well financially.
DIGITAL FORMATS
▪ Our film has been released simultaneously, both on YouTube and on
DVD
▪ The film on YouTube has accumulated up to 90 viewers.
▪ We have also sold 4 copies of our DVD format film.

PROMOTING OUR FILM
We have added sneak peaks over on my Instagram page and posted
multiple draft on our YouTube channel which is used to promote the film
and drum up interest.

Simultaneous release is used by film companies to have a diverse audience, this means that they theatrically release a film that they are going to release on different platforms, this helps a film do well financially. An example of this is Warner Bros studios, since the Covid-19 pandemic has affected them they decided to simultaneously release their films to maximise audience even through such a pandemic.
  • 11. 4K ultra HD and HDR I would want The Baggage to be released in 4K ultra HD and HDR so that people can watch it at the closest experience to going to the cinema. Warner Bros had stated that through this “unpredicted” time meaning the whole COVID-19 conditions around the world leads to low capacity of viewers at cinemas meaning less profits for the company since not many people are able to watch the film or even go to the cinema, So they came up with a creative idea of simultaneously releasing their films in this format on streaming platforms so that the portion of audience who are unable to go to cinemas can watch the film at home but also because it will help the film do well financially.
