Flatline By Natalie, Alex, Ben and Rob
Genre The genre of our film is British Social Realism. There are several films that our film is based around; Kidulthood, Adulthood and Momento and also on the Television series Skins
Synopsis of the film One night at a College party, Zack (Robert Allen) is put in a sticky situation when he is offered drugs, he is unsure of what to do but takes them anyway. His two best friends Becky (Natalie Kenward), Charlie (Ben Churchard) and Susie (Alex Smith) are distraught as they watch the demise of their friend.
Target Audience Our target audience is young adults. Specifically 15-26 year olds. Just like Kidulthood and films of the same genre
Campaign Our campaign idea revolved around social networking sites such as Facebook. We chose this because our target audience is aimed at younger people and they will be the most likely to use these kind of sites. Students that have Facebook; 60% log in daily. About 85% log in at least once a week, and 93% log in at least once a month, because of this we will target most of our campaign on that specific site.
Campaign Our 30-60 second teaser trailer which will be released 1 ½ months before the film release. This is so we can promote our film without giving too much away. We are also going to have 2 posters, one that’s billboard sized and another one that fits in at bus stops and train stations, we want them in these places because students have to use a lot of public transport and will give a lot of publicity
Magazine Cover We have chosen Little White Lies as our magazine cover, the reason we chose that it because our film company is Film4 which produces low budget British Movies so Empire wouldn’t be a good choice as that’s more for high budget Hollywood films.
Little White Lies
Teaser Trailer Our idea is a reverse film, this means all the events are in reverse order so the penultimate scene is first and in reverse, there has already been a film released like this called Momento.
Mise en scene We are going to set our trailer in a living room set up, we are doing this because that is not only easy to do but its also where house parties are usually held, so we want it to be as realistic as possible. As well as the living room we want to create a hospital bed type scenario so we want to use a brightly lit room and lots of white Our clothing is going to be informal and just things like jeans, t-shirts and hoodies.
Budget We have a very low budget for our film, its going to be about £400,000. this is because Kidulthood was £600,000 and we are going to make a more low key film with less needed to produce it.
Production Company Film 4 We chose film 4 because it is a British independent film company like what was used for Kidulthood
Titles Our film is based on the concept of a heart rate monitor and when it flat lines, so we want to use a bright green colours and try to use the flatine somewhere in it
USP – Unique selling point Our unique selling point is that its going to be more realistic than films such as Kidulthood. We want to do this so people can feel like there really involved in the movie because I doubt many people in Reigate carry a gun with them.
Certificate We rated our film as a 15 because it has some scenes of drug use and alcohol abuse and also features death.
