TARGET AUDIENCE
3. To receive audience feedback, I posted my music video drafts on YouTube and
my blog. This allowed people to view my video and criticise or compliment my
music video by commenting. I think it's important to gain audience feedback,
as they will have better knowledge of the improvements I can make to my
music video before I publish it. I created a survey on a website named
'SurveyMonkey' which allows viewers of my music video to give me detailed
feedback anonymously. I believe that if it's anonymous I will receive valid
responses as opposed to people playing it 'safe' to not upset anyone if they
think the music video is bad. I thought SurveyMonkey was entirely useful, by
allowing me to instantly share the survey on different social media to gain as
much feedback as possible.
FEEDBACK
5. I asked two members of my media class to provide me with feedback:
Geeta: https://vimeo.com/125392572
Megan: https://vimeo.com/125398335
INTERVIEW
6. Pros:
• Good use of shots
• Good use of angles
• Variation of performance and narrative
Cons:
• Add colour grading to editing as colours are dull
• Colour filter is needed
• Improve lighting, too bright in performance part of music video
GEETA’S FEEDBACK
7. Pros:
• Variation of performance and narrative
Cons:
• More narrative pieces
• Colour grading is needed
MEGAN’S FEEDBACK
8. The feedback from my two class members provided me with a
clear insight of what I need to improve on in my music video,
such as applying colour grading to better suit the footage of my
music video and to use warp stabiliser to smoothen out the shaky
parts of my footage. The feedback has been essential for
improving my music video in order for it to progress.
WHAT I GAINED
9. With survey monkey, I used a variation of multiple choice options, tick boxes
and text boxes that allow viewers to leave detailed comments on the
production of my music video. The qualitative data ensured me to see what I
was doing right and wrong with my music video, to allow me to make
improvements and small changes. An advantage of this was that the audience
became interactive with the music video, enabling them to expand their
answers and bring up ideas that I would be unaware of for my music video.
The qualitative data allowed me to receive vast points to ensure that my
feedback was accurate and thorough.

10. 1. What is your gender?
2. What is your age?
3. Overall, how professional would you rate my music video? (5 being most
professional)

5. Please rate each element of my music video
6. Which feature(s) of my music video do you think need most improvement?
7. Please comment generally on the strengths of my music video.
8. Please comment generally on the weaknesses of the music video.
I think that it’s important to ask about strengths and weaknesses to get an overall
perspective of what you can improve on and what you should keep or make
stronger.
QUESTIONS I ASKED
11. I found the open text responses were the most useful, thus they allowed the
audience to give detailed feedback to what they think is good or bad with my
music video rather than rating an aspect of your music video like ‘editing’ but
not knowing how to improve it.
