2. We will be filming in South
Weald for the whole of our
practice filming.
We have previously been to the location and it’s really
versatile for what you want to film. It’s so big and
would work for any sort of genre.
The weather is really appropriate for the look we want to go for. Quite dull and
run down – cloudy, wet and muddy. Obviously this is only practice filming and
for the ‘real thing’ we would have more locations. If South Weald looks good
when uploaded and edited and doesn’t give us any problems (such as, a lot of
public) we would defiantly use the location in our
We haven't planned on using any props or
to take any with us. The only thing would
be a tree and its branch for Claudia to
perch in and hold on to when performing.
Obviously brick walls and logs are
something we might incorporate but
there are no props we are thinking of
actually bringing.
3. Costume, Hair and Make-Up
effect that she is still an artist and somewhat ‘glamorous’. Her
hair will be natural and messy, but where it is a nice blonde
and with the eyelashes it will look like the artist is just going
through a rough time. It links in with the theme and lyrics of
the song.
We are thinking of a puffy, fairy like dress to juxtapose the
genre and feel of the video. It will open up more views of the
video when watching it.
This is just some ideas we have in mind and nothing is settles.
Obviously we want to incorporate a lot more outfits and
make-up.
For this set of filming, we plan to have
Claudia as a ‘crazy’ psycho woman.
Maybe that’s slightly extreme, but
defiantly along those lines, with
mascara running down her face but
still with big eyelashes, to give the
4. Facial Expressions and Body Language
Because the song is up beat but the lyrics are depressing, we feel like
meeting half way would work. Just having blank facial expressions, but
still showing emotion when the artist is singing with obvious emphasis.
Claudia will have to show this within both her facial expressions and body
language with things like closing her eyes, using her hands, etc…
When doing the lip syncing task,
we both found it easier to sing
the lyrics as well as mime them
Facial expressions isn’t something to give a more realistic effect.
we have strongly looked into,
therefore this will need to be
researched and also experimented
with on the day of filming.
Some of the lyrics
represent a happy place
and Claudia will need to
show this through her facial
expressions by grinning or
looking down and smiling.
But obviously not overly
happy and it will need to
flow so this is something
we can practice.
5. Lighting and Colour
Because of our setting our lighting was always
natural within the shots, which we think
matched our video because it allowed us to
manipulate the shadows formed when in the
sun and having natural light shining on our
artists face. We filmed in the early morning so
the sun wasn't at its brightest but still shone
through the trees. This worked in our favour
because our song is a bright happy one it
matched our Mise en scene.
The natural colours of the forest we feel
matched our Mise en scene as the colours we
had chose to use throughout our video are
colours such as; grey, black, brown, dark
purple, greens we chose these as bright
colours would not have suited our video and
artist. So the forest was a perfect setting to
film.
