INSERVICE PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS
 Content course : these courses are conducted to upgrade
teachers in their specialization in terms of knowledge of latest
developments, current issues and trends, and their application and
relevance to the teaching.
 Refresher Courses : organized to give an opportunity to
the teachers to improve their knowledge of subjects they teach and
widen their experience in methodology of teaching
 Summer Institutes : These are just like content course but
as in content course focus is more on specialization of the teacher but in
summer institutes one specific topic or area which covers all aspects of
teaching learning process can be considered.
INSERVICE PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS
 Short-Term courses : it can be or orientation purposes or
upgrading of subject knowledge. The duration is for 3-5 days.
 Workshops : Workshops are not talk shops but consider the output
from the participants in the course.it considers practical problems of
teaching, informal working conditions etc, even workshops do not evaluate
its members.
 Seminars : In seminars discussion on various aspects of a particular
topic and problem by the group of participants, resource personnel's and
experts are of theoretical nature.
 Inservice training programmes :these programmes
are arranged and organised by SCERT,NCERT and other voluntary state
organisations to impart training for acquisition of various skills related with
commerce education .
INSERVICE PROGRAMMES FOR TEACHERS
 Higher studies : One having masters degree may engage
themselves in research programmes and strive for research degree
M.Phil. or Ph.D. in their area of choice.
 Professional Writings :A teacher can improve his
communication ability by writing about his classroom experiments,
professional experiences etc, in the publication of his school and other
periodicals
 Membership of Professional Organization
: these organization and association hold their meetings .discuss
various issues as well encourage experimentation to cater the
professional need of the teachers. e.g.: All India Secondary
teachers association ,Delhi
