ASSURE Assignment (Final)
A- Analyze
Students ages 10-19, 15 in total, 8 males & 7 females, all mildly vision impaired, just
moved to US from Russia
S- State Objectives
During this teaching experience, my students will learn different activities that go on on
the fourth of July in the US. The students will learn these activities through games I have created
and found, songs that have been written to specifically give idea of what is happening on the
Fourth of July in the United States, and listening to videos found on YouTube. By the end of the
week, the students will be able to recite the different activities and meanings by singing the
songs or just repeating the different activities with 75% of accuracy.
S- Select Methods, Media, & Materials
There will be songs about America’s independence and videos about the fourth of July. I
will get some videos from youtube.com and off the independence page website. I will have
created some games where the children can begin some memorizing of the activities done on the
Fourth of July.
U- Utilize Media & Materials
The students will be listening to the videos & songs. I will pull the videos up on my
computer, and play them so the whole class can hear them and listen carefully. The children can
2. also use the tools I give made with the games created to help them be able to recite the Fourth of
July activities.
R- Require Learner Participation
The students will listen to the videos. If needed, we will play the videos more than once. I
will ask questions after each video or song to see if the children are grasping the concepts. Then
we will play memory games to make sure they are truly understanding but in a more fun way.
E- Evaluate & Revise
I will be assessing during the entire week. When we go over the songs and games, and
someone gives correct answers, I will be taking that and noticing that they are learning what I am
teaching. I will orally ask the students different questions about the holiday. I will ask for
specific activities and meanings of the fourth of July. I will see if they can sing the songs. I want
to make sure they understand what the holiday is even though they are learning about it in a fun
way.
