The document describes a webquest activity for guitar students where they are tasked with learning a new song based on a fictional scenario. Students must pick a song, research it online to find the chords, key, scales, and timing, then present this information on a poster board while demonstrating their ability to play the song or its chords. The goal is to teach students how to independently learn new songs using online resources.

Introduction
In this scenario, you are a guitar player and front man for a famous band. You and three other
well-known bands are playing at a show. Your band is scheduled to open up for the closing band
and play 5 songs. Before the show starts, the show coordinator come up to you and your band
and informs you that the band that is supposed to close has been in a vehicle accident on the
way there, nothing major but they cannot make it to the show to play. The show must go on so
he got a local band to play fist and bump everyone else back putting you and your band into the
spotlight playing in the closing spot. He also informs you that you must play 12 to 15 songs and
must cover three songs that are played at every show. You and your band have in till the first two
bands get done playing to figure out what songs you will play and learn them if you have two.
You and your band knows 11 songs they can play and two of the three songs. You must look up
the final song (your choice) on the internet and learn it before you go on.
Task
Your task for this web quest is to pick a song, which would be the song you need to look up in the
scenario. Then look up the song, chords, tabs, and lyrics for the song. I want you to put together
a small presentation telling me the genre, singer, key it’s sung in, scales you can play with the
key, and timing for the song. Then I want you to be able to play the whole song or at minimum
every chord that is used in the song.

Conclusion
The main objective of this web quest was to show you that no matter how good or bad you think
you are, learning a song is just a touch of a fingertip away. Whatever song or songs you want to
learn in the future remember that with the use of the internet you can learn anything.
For your closing assignment, I want you to tell me how you like this web quest, was it useful, and
what can be better about it. Type your response up on word and turn it it to me.
Rational
This webquest is to make guitar students realize that they can learn any song they want
as long as they have the internet. It shows them how to look up and learn a song using
the internet.
4. Standards
This will teach kids how to look up chords, tabs, timing, and lyrics and put them to use
for any song of their choice.
