- 1. Unit Plan on Rhyming and Onomatopoeia PowerPoint BY EMILY BUTCHER
- 2. The Learners I will be teaching a first grade class of fifteen students. Nine of the students are girls and six are boys. They are all six to seven years old.
- 3. Objective My students will recite different words that rhyme and what makes them rhyme. My students will also be able to recite at least three onomatopoeias. They will learn this through videos I have made, songs from YouTube, crafts we will create in class, and worksheets. By the end of the week, my students will be able to recite different rhyming words with 90% of accuracy.
- 4. Day by Day On the first day, my students will tell me if they know rhyming words. After I see what they know, we will listen to songs and hear some rhyming. On the second day, we will do crafts to show some different rhyming words in a creative and fun way. On the third day, we will talk about onomatopoeias. I’ll give examples through videos and games. On the fourth day, the students will make a craft with an onomatopoeia. On Friday, the students will be in groups and make up a song or craft to present to the class to show they know what rhyming words are and what onomatopoeias are.
