1. Day by day
Day 1 – I will explain to the students what the unit plan is. I will use a video and the smart board to tell
the kids what rhyming is and what an onomatopoeia is. The students will learn the definitions and be
able to recite what I have told them that day with 50% accuracy.
Day 2 – We will listen to songs and use more videos and focus on rhyming. The children will be able to
recite examples of rhyming words. They can make a video with a flip camera of them using rhyming
words with 60% accuracy.
Day 3 – They will watch the rhyming videos. They will use my webquest pages to follow rhyming into
onomatopoeias. I will use my glogster poster for examples of onomatopoeias. The students will be able
to recite onomatopoeias in a podcast with 45% accuracy.
Day 4 – The students will finish their podcasts, and we will listen as a class. The class will then go into
groups and make a group voki reciting onomatopoeias with 75% accuracy.
Day 5 – The final project for the final assessment will be using their videos and voki. They will redo them
to show they have a better understanding of rhyming and onomatopoeias. They will be improve the
reciting and recite it now with 80% accuracy.
