ASSURE
Analyze:
This 1st grade class is made up of 10 boys and 7 girls. The classroom is seventy percent
white, twenty percent African American and ten percent Latino. 10 children have mild to serve
ADHD.
State your objective:
The students will say and write the months of the year in order. They will do this by
learning different songs, playing games, doing dances, doing movement activities and doing
riddles. Each day we will do a different activity from the ones listed. The student will be able to
do this by the end of the school year with 85% accuracy.
Selectedmedia/materials:
I will use the smartboard to show the month so in the beginning the students can see
them. Other material that will be used is pictures that relate to that month, music and YouTube
requiring a computer and projector for the students to see and do the dances to.
Utilize materials:
Media will be used through YouTube by listening to the music that goes along with the
months of the year dances we will learn. This is how I will introduce the all the months of year.
2. The students will go and do different activities each day to learn the months. They will jump the
months and play a clapping game. The students will also play games such as matching and
puzzles.
Require learner participation:
To help with student participation we will be doing fun activities to keep them up and
moving instead of sitting and learning. They will get to work together and discuss among
themselves about the months.
Evaluate and revise:
I will evaluate the students in the beginning of the school year, the middle and the end to
see their improvement. Throughout the year I will be evaluating by observing the students to see
if they are improving and where they may need some more help.
