Separation of Lanthanides/ Lanthanides and Actinides
Masthead Designs
1.
2. Font Size: 335
Font Name: Arial Black
This masthead is extremely bold and would most definitely stand out when
placed on a shelf in a shop amongst other magazines due to the contrast
between the colours red and black which also follows the colour scheme of my
whole magazine and brand. The colour red has connotations of passion which
would relate to my target audience’s passion towards indie music. I think this
would look very effective on my front cover as it is eye-catching and has a
professional appearance.
3. Font Size: 335
Font Name: Kino MT
This masthead has an extremely noticeable and bold appearance making it
obvious and eye catching to the target audience and would allow it to stand out
amongst other magazines that it may be placed next to in a shop. I feel that this
font is effective as it separates the two parts of the ‘R’ making the the two
letters (IR – Indie Rhythms) easily recogniseable. However, I do have some
doubts that this font may no be wide enough as it is quite a slim font making it
less bold.
4. Font Size: 335
Font Name: Monaco
This font would not be quite as effective for a masthead as although it is quite a
large, bold font I feel as though this font looks too simplistic and does not carry
much definition as it is fairly thin and could possibly look lost on the front cover
of my magazine as it will be surrounded by many other features. Furthermore,
this logo would probably not be able to stand out amongst other magazines as
it is too simplistic.
5. Font Size: 335
Font Name: Phosphate Inline
This masthead is extremely bold due to the contrast between the colours red
and black and the bold line that runs through half of the letter giving it some
definition. I think this would look very effective on my front cover as it is eye-
catching and has a professional appearance. I also think that by this font having
a white line running through it gives it an unusual appearance that other
magazine don’t have.
6. Font Size: 335
Font Name: Braggadocio
This masthead has an extremely noticeable and bold appearance making it
obvious and eye catching to the target audience and would allow it to stand out
amongst other magazines that it may be placed next to in a shop. Although my
logo is simply the letter ‘R’ with the straight edge coloured red to look like the
letter ‘I’ to represent “Indie Rhythms” I feel that this font is effective as it
separates the two parts of the ‘R’ making the the two letters easily
recogniseable.
