A Corporation is an independent company that is isolated
and works on their own but they might call upon other
companies to help on a project. I have chosen Spin Media as
my corporation. SpinMedia is an independent company that
own magazines such as Spin, Buzznet, Idolator, Stereogum,
and Vibe.
2. History Of SpinMedia
SpinMedia (formerly Buzz Media) is a digital publisher in
the U.S, which owns a number of pop culture websites,
including Spin, Buzznet, Idolator, Stereogum, and Vibe. Buzz
Media was founded by Anthony Batt , Marc Brown, Kevin
Woolery, and Steve Haldane under the name Buzznet. Batt
and Brown started a blog in 1999 and by 2006 Buzznet had
a total of nine people in the Los Angeles, California area. The
company announced on March 19, 2009 it raised $12.5
million in funding and After shutting down the print version
of the magazine, reducing its staff to about 200, and focusing
on advertising, it rebranded itself as SpinMedia in March
2013. In April 2013 it acquired Vibe magazine.
Vine - Synergy
Magazine: Vibe is a music and
entertainment magazine founded by producer Quincy Jones.
The publication mainly features R&B and hip-hop music
artists, actors and other entertainers. After shutting down
production in Summer 2009, Vibe was purchased by the
private investment fund InterMedia Partners and is now
issued twice a month with double covers, with a larger
online presence. The magazine's target demographic is
predominantly young, urban followers of hip-hop culture
and In 2014, the magazine moved online-only.
3. Television: Vibe is an American late night talk show that
was a spun off from the magazine. Premiering in
August 1997, it was produced by Quincy Jones, hosted
by Chris Spencer, and featured Bill Clinton on its first
episode. The show only lasted until the summer of 1998,
when it was cancelled. The show taped from CBS Television
City in Los Angeles.
