1. Proposal
1
Working Title: my product is called, ‘action’ based on it being a film magazine.
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
My products purpose is to be a film magazine that informs people on certain films that are
more action based films. To help my product achieve its purpose I am going to include
accessible material, such as a game, which is what I am planning on doing.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre:
My products genre is based around being a film magazine but the specific genre is more
aimed at the idea of being based around action films. It will also be based around being
interactive/advgame and also print based media.
What sort of product is it
Content
My product is going too include different content, I am planning on including a cover,
double page spread, 2 film advertisement posters and an ADV. Game. This is all going to be
based around the idea off the action genre. The idea of this is that all of this ideas will link
together by the fact that they are all based around action film genre.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Research & Planning
There is one, particular aspect from my research that I am wanting to use in my actual
production and that is from one of my research experiments and that is the idea of the
background kind of overlapping and fading into the text title of the magazine. I also
attempted this with my experiment magazine cover, which shows how I am planning to do
this on my actual production.
Where will you use elements of your research and planning to influence and inform your final idea
(be specific to certain parts)
Audience:
My audience is going to be more based towards the middle class society, as I believe that it
will gain more views/people will play game more. I also believe that the content that I am
planning on including in my production isn’t really some that would appeal to the higher
class, more set for the middle class. Between male and female, I believe that my
production, will be more based around the male character, as the majority of my intended
material, is based around being more towards males, this can be seen by the planned
colours and schemes that I am planning on using, such as in the magazine work, darker
colour schemes. The age range for my audience will be aimed around 20-40, which gives
enough age gap for there to be a wider specific audience.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Within my production, I do not believe that there will be any offensive material on any form
that the viewer may find offensive. The only slight thing that they could take offense to, is
by saying that some of my work can be in some form seen too include copyright, from the
way of which the playable characters will be presented. If it came too it, I would restrict my
younger audience from viewing it by age restricting the availability too be able to buy/play
it, this would be done by asking for proof of your age when buying the magazine or when
attempting to play the game there being account that you have to log into, to be able to play
the game. But despite this I will not be restricting younger people from being able to
view/play my material. No I believe that my work will not include any offensive material that
could offend any religious groups/society, as the material is based around being set on a
certain film, ‘civil war’. The only way of which any groups/societies could take offence too
it, is if they don’t like the way that the film is portrayed (features in the film), but realistically

that is seen to be very unlikely. I will ensure that I do not offend anyone by being careful
about the material of which I include in my production material, for example, within my
game I will try to make it as civil as possible, i.e. trying not to include any violence in it, if so
only the smallest amount of violence, so that people won’t take offence too it, but on a
whole I am planning so that no violence is included in my magazine/game/poster.
Yes, with my production, I am planning on using logos/symbols and possibly characters,
from already existing products/films, these will most likely especially be included in my
magazine cover, with the idea of including in already existing logos/images, as this will be
the front of my original magazine concept, although they I will be using already existing
products, I will be altering them slightly so they obviously don’t look exactly the same and
that they will look slightly more like mine.
Due to the fact that I am planning on including in my production, logos/images/characters
that are already existing, I am obviously going to edit them/change them slightly so that, I
could not be sued for copyright. An example of how I am going to change it, is with my
game, the playable character of my game, if it is a set character from a film, I will change
the way of it looks slightly so that it’s not seen to be exactly the same, of which course I
then would not be sued for copyright.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
