2. How old are you?
For our questionnaire, our first question was how old
they were so that we could compare what film genre’s
which age groups prefer. As we sent email to the whole
sixth form department, the majority of the age group was
16-18. Therefore, the majority of our audience for our
final product would be between the age of 16-18.
3. Do You enjoy watching films?
We asked our participants if they enjoyed
watching films before we moved on to the next
question as we wanted our participants to
know what the questionnaire was about
before we got into depth. The majority of our
participants answered yes which and 3
answered depends. As our movie is going to
subvert stereotypes, our final product could be
interesting to the 3 who answered depends
and the 2 that answered no as it is a different
type of storyline.
4. If yes, What type?
The majority of the participants chose comedy as
their favourite film genre which means that comedy
would be appealing to them however, Crime and
Horror had an equal vote and we chose crime-
thriller as our film genre which gives us an overall
advantage as our final product is somewhere in
between.
5. What crime sub-genre are you most drawn
into?
The majority of our participants chose Forensic
thriller as their favourite sub-genre which again, is
a advantage for us as our genre is crime thriller.
Furthermore, we want our audience to be
appealed to our movie opening.
6. Out of the choices, who is your favourite
crime director?
According to our questionnaires, crime
directors aren’t very important to our
audience and therefore, our main focus
isn’t on our director.
7. Why does crime films appeal to you?
As this question was open-ended, the majority of our participants answered that crime films were appealing cause they
were interesting. This isn’t a reliable answer as it doesn’t really answer our questions. Moreover, they were probably not
bothered to answer the question and therefore, gave answers which won’t help us in any way. Such as, ‘idk’ and ‘yhh’.
