Introduction  To analyse what could be the reasons behind the non- performance of the students  Every student has a different background and potential  All the knowledge that is provided is not imbibed completely by anyone  Students are expected to be able to perform basic skills  What does this impose about the child to their parents and teachers mind  Misconception in parents mind about the knowledge being absorbed by their chid on the base of attendance.

Objectives  In this study we hope to provide a better understanding of what is going on in a child's mind.  To explore different factors which affect performance directly or indirectly  Discuss various dimensions influencing performance  Includes:  Student’s interests  Study habits  Teaching effectiveness  other factors
  4. 4. Probable reasons for non- performance  Social Environment  Parents Education  Peer Pressure  Previous Schooling  Self-motivation  Family environment  Family income

Research Methodology  Initial approach: to analyse secondary data available to us from various research papers and news articles published in past  Convenience sampling: Simplicity, data facilitation, cost effectiveness, helpful for hypothesis  Distributed the questioner among people in college and took analysis of the respondents using Microsoft excel.  150 respondents
