A group technology (GT) layout is similar to a process layout in that cells are designed to perform a
specific set of processes, and it is similar to a product layout in that the cells are dedicated to a
limited range of products. (Group technology also refers to the parts classification and coding
system used to specify machine types that go into a cell.) In a fixed–position layout, the product (by
virtue of its bulk or weight) remains at one location. Manufacturing equipment is moved to the
product rather than vice versa. Construction sites and movie lots are examples of this format. Many
manufacturing facilities present a combination of two layout types. For example, a given production
area may be laid out by process, while another area may be laid out by product. It is also common to
find an entire plant arranged according to product layout– for example, a parts fabrication area
followed by a subassembly area, with a final assembly area at the end of the process. Different types
of layouts may be used in each area, with a process layout used in fabrication, group technology in
subassembly, and a product layout used in final assembly. P R O C E S S L AYO U T q q q The most
common approach to developing a process layout is to arrange departments consisting of like
processes in a way that optimizes their relative placement.

Informative Essay About Beer
Every Wednesday at Terrace Club, we take part in wedding of sorts...the marriage of our Tastes of
the World menu and Fine Beer Wednesday. This year, Chef Rick and I have worked hand in hand
with Guillermo Martinez Cabalga '17 and Jack Hollingsworth '17–otherwise known as the Beer
Chairs–to pair the Wednesday dining room menu with its beer counterparts in the tap room. So far,
the marriage seems strong and appears to be in a permanent honeymoon phase.
In the last five years, there's been a paradigm shift: beer has made it onto the menu as more than an
afterthought. Beer, like wine, has a unique ability to complement the flavors of all kinds of foods. As
a result, beer sommeliers have popped up in cities across the country, including Los Angeles,

Olympia Dining
I went to visit Olympia Dining,a Greek restaurant, with my brother on Thursday , November 12. We
didn't know how the Greek food was, or what could we order since It was our first time in a Greek
restaurant. This restaurant is located in Davis Blvd. When we arrived, we park in the closest spot of
the restaurant then we walked in. The restaurant was beautiful more beautiful inside than the
outside; The walls were painted with ruins and incomplete columns, and in the top corner it had a
building with an Ionic technique, it was easy to recognize for the shape of the columns. the place

dish made of spinach and grapes leaves, i didn't like this dish, it have a bitter taste, at the end we got

great, it was fresh and the place was clean, I really enjoy eating in this place, besides we had like
private service since no one was there, we had a lot of food and the price was cheap. I would
recommend this place to my family and my friends. i would like try more food even though I was

The Invasion of Consumerism into the lives of a...
The Invasion of Consumerism into the lives of a Post–Modern Family Consumerism is taking place
everywhere. Whether we like it or not, it has come to invade our everyday modern lives. Steven
Miles, a lecturer in sociology at the
University of Plymouth says "How we consume, why we consume, and the parameters laid down
for us within which we consume have become increasingly significant influences on how we
construct our everyday lives" (1). Consumerism has even gotten to the point of affecting the way we
go about living and controlling our personal and social lives (Miles 5). Wherever we go and
whatever we do, consumerism is praised as the answer to all of our problems, an escape from some
of the harsh realities of our lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This was the fourth or fifth time I'd seen him in the supermarket, which was roughly the number of
times I'd seen him on campus. (35)
Even Jack's daughter, Denise, runs into a group of friends during one shopping trip.
They all gather together to look at books and talk. Jack also has many significant conversations with
Murray while casually strolling up and down the aisles of the supermarket. On one such occasion,
Murray tells Jack how happy he is to be "in
Blacksmith, in the supermarket, in the rooming house, on the Hill" (36). He continues to say "I feel I
am learning important things every day. Death, disease, afterlife, outerspace.
It's all much clearer here. I can think and see" (36). With Murray expressing his feelings to Jack, it is
almost as if these encounters at the supermarket are replacing customary social time. Aside from
being a meeting grounds, the supermarket is filled with many consumer goods conveniently in bulk.
Jack describes this in one of his many trips to the supermarket: There were six kinds of apples, there
were exotic melons in several pastels. Everything seemed to be in season, sprayed, burnished,
bright. (36)
This kind of abundance of goods is seen in just about everywhere. Ten years ago, most supermarkets
stocked about nine thousand items and now today's stores carry over 24 thousand (Wolkormir).
Most of these items come from a can or box and can be cooked in the

Fear Of Death In Don Delillo's White Noise
Why is death feared, and what should be done to assuage this fear? White Noise, by Don DeLillo,
focuses on Jack Gladney, a professor, as he traverses America in response to a huge man–made
disaster, the Airborne Toxic Event. This stress pushes Jack to his limit, and in doing so, DeLillo
exposes the masked and pernicious tropes that underlie American society. Fleeing from the Airborne
Toxic Event, Jack reveals a crippling fear of death, which both paralyzes and motivates him. This
fear of death is a central motif of the book, and DeLillo explores the ways in which it can be both
repressed and promoted. Jack becomes stuck in paradoxical structures in which the only escape
from his fear of death augments it in the long term. Amongst his escapes are consumption of goods
and disaster images. Through his consumerism, Jack salves his psychological distress, as the fleeting
catharsis takes his mind off the ever–looming gloom. Similarly, Jack's viewing of disaster images
makes death seem more distant, belonging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When speaking to their class, neither Jack nor Murray give any constructive lessons or attempt to
actually teach the class. When a student asks Jack about the plot on Hitler's life, Jack's response was
just that "all plots move deathward," instead of answering the question (DeLillo 89). In a certain
sense, "[t]he professoriat...gain authority not from any innate ability or from credentials but from
personal magnetism [and]...the mere fact of having the enunciative role" (Conroy 206). Similarly,
"the students never think to wonder what Gladney, Siskind, and the others have to say is true, or
even serious" (Conroy 206). This is quite clearly paralleled in DeLillo's critique of postmodernism,
since people assume that Murray's postmodern monologues will have meaning purely because they
are postmodern. This concurrency seems to strengthen the theory that DeLillo's satire of
postmodernism was

Seventeen dreadful hours in a plane is what it takes to go from Cleveland, Ohio to Chios, Greece.
The 747 commercial plane to the mainland is heaven compared to the sinister, much smaller,
propeller plane to Chios. The tiny coffin holds maybe 30 people tops and feels a lot like being inside
a tin rattle.Landing after two hours of unsettling turbulence awakens thankful thoughts in a
person.Compared to the dark dungeon of the plane, everything outside is bright and full of life. The

The houses do not include just the typically depicted white stone people traditionally think of but all
sort of different colors and styles. The closer to the mountains the darker the stones are. The reason
for this is that the type of stone that was found in the area is what was usually used in making the
house. The country part of the island is mountainous with goats scaling anything they can get their
hooves on. For example one might find one ascending a neighbor's stone fence or perhaps a car.
There are tons of goats on the island but they are never seen as pests. Goats are a useful farm animal
as they can supply both milk, which is used to make Feta cheese, and meat. Finding a hamburger on
the island is difficult because mostly goats and sheep are raised. However there is always plenty of
gyro and souvlaki. Fish is also really big in Chios. Just a peek at the coast and someone will find
small boats bringing in the day's catch. This means the fish is always fresh and if the restaurant ever
runs out of something they can just call out to a local fisherman to pick up some more. Walking
along the coast it is unsurprising to see the local restaurants hanging up fresh octopus to dry out in

Fast Food industry analysis
In Australia exist several restaurants which give to the costumer fast food, as Mc Donald, KFC,
Hungry Jack's, Subway. All of them offer to the costumer fast food, but Subway offer something
different as such healthy food.
The lifestyles of Australian changed strongly over the last 20 years, this due to there are more

Greek Food History
History of Greek Cuisine
Greek cuisine is much more than just delicious food. It is part of a rich culture rooted in religion.
The religion of the ancient Greeks is known today as Greek mythology. Ancient Greeks believed
that world was ruled by Gods and Goddesses, and that the food that they ate, the crops that they
grew, and how successful the crops were, were all tied to these mighty rulers. In fact, perhaps the
most known food found in Greece, olive oil, was believed to have come from one of their
Goddesses. According to the ancient story, a King named Cecrops wanted to find a God or Goddess
to look after his city–state. He chose two; Athena and Poseidon. To choose one winner, a contest
was held to see who could give the city–state the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Greek Cosmobob Essay
Executive Summary The Greek Cosmobob People from all over the world immigrate to places like
Canada, not for a change of scenery but for the opportunity of a better life. Cosmo Panetta did just
that in 1958, leaving his homeland of Greece. Since his move to Canada, Panetta has opened two
successful businesses, a variety store and a drive–in/take–out restaurant. Panetta now has several
business opportunities to take a popular menu item, the Cosmobob, to the mass–market. Panetta has
some important decisions to make on the future of his family business. His options are to grow his

Panetta wanted his product to stand apart from other lower quality souvlaki on the market and
therefore named his product the Cosmobob. Panetta was able to provide consistent high quality
Cosmobobs and his restaurants were popular to visitors and residents alike. The Cosmobob gave
Panetta and edge over the competitive drive–in/take–out chains in the area as the Cosmobob's
popularity grew. By 1998, Panetta's restaurants had assets worth $480,000 and had sales just under
$1,163,000. In September 1998, Panetta took his Cosmobob, originally an in–house product, and
successfully marketed it to local restaurants and the demand for the product quickly outgrew the
restaurant's production facilities. Selling his Cosmobob at $48.96 per case, with a variable cost per
case at $31.20, 100 cases were sold in both September and October but sales quadrupled to 400
cases in November and just under 600 cases in December. By February 1999, the operations had
reached its capacity for both in–house and external customers. Panetta would not be able to
accommodate any increased demands on his product which would mean a loss of revenue. Panetta
realized a bigger production facility was needed. He also needed a large freezer capacity since the
icehouse he was renting space from for $400 per month also caused him shipping problems. Panetta
had two potential options for a new facility.

Comedic Mystery Play: Kill Your Parents In Viking Alberta
In the comedic mystery play, Kill Your Parents in Viking Alberta, written by Bryce Hodgson and
Charlie Kerr, directed by Rachel Cairns, brought the audience to an unexpected cliff hanger
conclusion. Performed at the Storefront Theatre and surrounded by a questionable looking area, the
five actors wonderfully performed the play written about three siblings who finally got together to
sign their grandmother's will with a surprising twist. This minimalistic, one set production had a
great usage of every design element from the props, costumes, to lighting and sound.
The play took place at Edmonton, Alberta in January (placed on the calendar) during a snowstorm.
This was a one set production, set in a kitchen, with a dining table with multiple foods such as ice

When the song was cut, the lights were switched on and the production began. This faint, yet

Further into the play, I noticed that the lights were fully lit in the centre where all the actors were.
But on the sides, upstage left and center stage right, I noticed that it was more dimmed at those areas
because it was not our main focus as an audience. For music, she used only two songs for the entire

Why Is Greece Important To The World
Greece, one of the most beneficial countries of the world, has come up with many inventions that
are still used today. Tragically, many of these concepts were lost when the Romans burned the
Library of Alexandria, but there were copies of some of the information. Still, much of this valuable
information was lost pushing back humanity. Not only have the Greeks fathom great ideas, they
have also influenced other cultures. An of this is the America government buildings. The Greeks
also influenced other religions such as Russian Orthodox. Although Greece might have been
beneficial to the world with their ideas, they are not so much with their money. Ever since Greece

Overview. Greece's geography influenced its economy greatly. Since Greece is a peninsula and
mountainous it limits the amount of arable land. Greece is very warm and dry in the summer and
cold and dry in the winter. This did not only influence Greece's economy but it also influenced the
way their flag looks. The flag is blue, white, has nine strips, and has a cross. The blue stands for the
sky and the water when the white stands for the crashing of the waves and white clouds. The nine
stripes stand for the nine syllables of the Greek independence cry Ελευθερία ή Θάνατος(elefthería í
thánatos). This means Freedom or death. It is now the motto of New Hampshire. The cross stands
for the Greek Orthodox religion. The flag was created by the Greeks and so were groundbreaking

Cooking Is The Art And Science Of Cooking
Introduction:–
"Cooking is the art and science of preparing food for eating by the application of heat". It includes
full range of culinary techniques: preparing raw, cooked foods for the table; final dressing of meats,
fish, and fowl; cleaning, cutting fruits, vegetables; preparing salads; garnishing dishes, planning
meals. Origins of cooking are obscure. Primitive humans have savored roast meat, flesh of beast
killed in forest fire was found to be more palatable and easier to chew and digest than the customary
raw meat. However roasting spitted meats over fires remained virtually the sole culinary technique
until the Paleolithic Period, when the Aurignacian people of southern France began to steam their
food over hot embers by wrapping it in wet leaves. Aside from such hard procedures as toasting wild
grains on flat rocks and using shells, skulls, or hollowed stones to heat liquids, no further culinary
advances were made. So advancement in cooking techniques made culinary methods improved with
the introduction of earthenware and introduction of pottery during Neolithic Period . The cooking
techniques of boiling, stewing, braising, and perhaps even incipient forms of pickling, frying, and
oven baking were added. Early cooks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Religion In The Middle East
The Middle East is a region contains countries from Africa and Europe. Some of the countries

including religions and food. The main religions in the Middle East are Christianity, Islam, and
Judaism. Each religion is unique in its own sense and has certain foods that are associated with it.
First off, Christianity is a major religion in the Middle East stemming from the Greek Eastern
Orthodox Church. A traditional food that the Christians in the Middle East consume pork. This is
weird because they are the only religion in the Middle East that has no pork prohibition (Kittler, pg

meats in the Middle East, like lamb, sheep, and chicken. They could eat these as substitutes. Another
main religion in the Middle East is Islam, which is what muslims worship. The Middle East has

their love and passion for their particular subject. The conversation that occurs in Murray's
classroom at the College–on–the–Hill starts as a civil, friendly chat between two friends about their
individual study. Although, the conversation rapidly turns into a spirited altercation in the defense of
each other's subject. Throughout the banter, Jack and Murray compare the relationships that each,
Elvis and Hitler have with their mother, how they felt ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This passage on page 73 is a direct continuation of his imperfect character trait. This time, his
judgement comes after the heated debate with Murray over their profound subjects. Jack's intention
during the passage is to assert his and Hitler's power over Murray and Elvis. Jack immediately
proclaims his power over Murray when he mentions that Murray is currently sat across the room, far
from him, as if Murray was not on the equal level as Jack. Jack then see a sense of appreciation in
Murray's eyes from a distance, being thankful for Jack's participation in the debate in which they
just had. Although, Jack sees this appreciation for his generosity of associating himself and Hitler's
presence with such a dishonorable relation such as Murray and Elvis. Jack believes that Hitler, is a
man that deserves the respect, power, appreciation of being on a higher level than a man like Elvis.
Jack sees a man who was a dictator that killed hundreds of thousands innocent people more notable
and respectable than a man who single handily changed music and the culture of America. Jack
continues to assert his power of his colleague by regretting his act of sharing his techniques of
declaring his power. Jack believes that sharing his secret with Murray could eventually hurt himself
in the future if Murray learns how to build his "aura" and overcome his shadow of Jack. Chapter 17:

Kebab King: Product Description and Business Environment
Product Description and Business Environment
The business in question is called Kebab King. This is a quick service restaurant that focuses on
kebabs, shawarmas and falafels, as well as soft drinks, fries and Middle Eastern flatbreads. The
objective of the Kebab King model is that the company should ultimately become a nationwide fast
food franchise. There are presently no major kebab franchise chains in America. Yet, kebab is one of
the most popular foods in Europe and the Middle East, and many Asian and African cultures also
have similar grilled meat products. In North America, such products are less common, but the Greek
souvlaki is known and accepted. One of the most important aspects of the business is the franchise
component. When starting a business that is going to be a franchise, there are unique elements that
must be taken into consideration. These include standardization, and the capability of franchisers to
adapt within a standardized format (Kaufman & Eroglu, 1999). An example would be McDonalds,
where franchise owners have come up with some of the company's most lucrative products, while
simultaneously operating within a strict franchise format. The SWOT analysis has developed as a
method of helping to form strategy (Dyson, 2004). It can be used to help understand the internal and
external environments. The strengths of Kebab King at present are its concept, which is relatively
untested in the United States, and the expertise of the owners at

Journey of the Antikythera Mechanism
"Harper! Come here! Guess what!" Called Harper's mom, Camille, from the kitchen. Harper, always
one for a good surprise, came bounding in. She made her grand entrance by sock–sliding on the
hardwood floor, then falling backwards with a thud. "I'm okay Mom!" Harper yelled from the floor.
"What were you gonna tell me?" "I got a call to investigate something up in Greece, and I was going
to have you stay home with dad, so you could celebrate your birthday, but, the trip got extended,
your dad and I talked, and I was wondering if you wanted to come with me?" Camille gasped with
excitement. "That sounds awesome! When do you leave? Is Dad coming?" "My flight is booked for

But then, the crash of the waves brought her out of her thoughts. The beach! Harper could go to the
beach! She rushed up the stairs two at a time to her hotel room. Harper dug out her swim suit from
inside the suitcase and shimmied it on. She flexed in the mirror and thought to herself, maybe all the
monkey bars she'd been doing at recess had finally paid off! The temperature was perfect at the
beach, and the ocean had been warmed from the sun. She stretched out her towel, and put her
sunglasses on. Perfect. Hours on the beach flew by, and Harper spent them by building sand castles,
bodysurfing in the waves, reading her book, walking along the beach, and sleeping. Harper looked
at the clock in disbelief when she saw that it already read 5:00. She also saw a missed call from her
mom. Oops, Harper thought to herself, but her mom had only called once, so it probably wasn't a
big deal. "Hi Mom!" Harper said over the

A group technology (GT) layout is similar to a process layout in that cells are designed to perform a specific set of processes, and it is similar to a product layout in that the cells are dedicated to a limited range of products. (Group technology also refers to the parts classification and coding system used to specify machine types that go into a cell.) In a fixed–position layout, the product (by virtue of its bulk or weight) remains at one location. Manufacturing equipment is moved to the product rather than vice versa. Construction sites and movie lots are examples of this format. Many manufacturing facilities present a combination of two layout types. For example, a given production area may be laid out by process, while another area may be laid out by product. It is also common to find an entire plant arranged according to product layout– for example, a parts fabrication area followed by a subassembly area, with a final assembly area at the end of the process. Different types of layouts may be used in each area, with a process layout used in fabrication, group technology in subassembly, and a product layout used in final assembly. This year, Chef Rick and I have worked hand in hand with Guillermo Martinez Cabalga '17 and Jack Hollingsworth '17–otherwise known as the Beer Chairs–to pair the Wednesday dining room menu with its beer counterparts in the tap room. So far, the marriage seems strong and appears to be in a permanent honeymoon phase. In the last five years, there's been a paradigm shift: beer has made it onto the menu as more than an afterthought. Beer, like wine, has a unique ability to complement the flavors of all kinds of foods. As a result, beer sommeliers have popped up in cities across the country, including Los Angeles, ... Whether we like it or not, it has come to invade our everyday modern lives. Steven Miles, a lecturer in sociology at the University of Plymouth says "How we consume, why we consume, and the parameters laid down for us within which we consume have become increasingly significant influences on how we construct our everyday lives" (1). Consumerism has even gotten to the point of affecting the way we go about living and controlling our personal and social lives (Miles 5). Wherever we go and whatever we do, consumerism is praised as the answer to all of our problems, an escape from some of the harsh realities of our lives. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This was the fourth or fifth time I'd seen him in the supermarket, which was roughly the number of times I'd seen him on campus. (35) Even Jack's daughter, Denise, runs into a group of friends during one shopping trip. They all gather together to look at books and talk. Jack also has many significant conversations with Murray while casually strolling up and down the aisles of the supermarket. On one such occasion, Murray tells Jack how happy he is to be "in Blacksmith, in the supermarket, in the rooming house, on the Hill" (36). He continues to say "I feel I am learning important things every day. Death, disease, afterlife, outerspace. It's all much clearer here. I can think and see" (36). With Murray expressing his feelings to Jack, it is almost as if these encounters at the supermarket are replacing customary social time. Aside from being a meeting grounds, the supermarket is filled with many consumer goods conveniently in bulk. Jack describes this in one of his many trips to the supermarket: There were six kinds of apples, there were exotic melons in several pastels. Everything seemed to be in season, sprayed, burnished, bright. (36) This kind of abundance of goods is seen in just about everywhere. Ten years ago, most supermarkets stocked about nine thousand items and now today's stores carry over 24 thousand (Wolkormir). Most of these items come from a can or box and can be cooked in the ... • 17. Fear Of Death In Don Delillo's White Noise Why is death feared, and what should be done to assuage this fear? White Noise, by Don DeLillo, focuses on Jack Gladney, a professor, as he traverses America in response to a huge man–made disaster, the Airborne Toxic Event. This stress pushes Jack to his limit, and in doing so, DeLillo exposes the masked and pernicious tropes that underlie American society. Fleeing from the Airborne Toxic Event, Jack reveals a crippling fear of death, which both paralyzes and motivates him. This fear of death is a central motif of the book, and DeLillo explores the ways in which it can be both repressed and promoted. Jack becomes stuck in paradoxical structures in which the only escape from his fear of death augments it in the long term. Amongst his escapes are consumption of goods and disaster images. Through his consumerism, Jack salves his psychological distress, as the fleeting catharsis takes his mind off the ever–looming gloom. Similarly, Jack's viewing of disaster images makes death seem more distant, belonging ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When speaking to their class, neither Jack nor Murray give any constructive lessons or attempt to actually teach the class. When a student asks Jack about the plot on Hitler's life, Jack's response was just that "all plots move deathward," instead of answering the question (DeLillo 89). In a certain sense, "[t]he professoriat...gain authority not from any innate ability or from credentials but from personal magnetism [and]...the mere fact of having the enunciative role" (Conroy 206). Similarly, "the students never think to wonder what Gladney, Siskind, and the others have to say is true, or even serious" (Conroy 206). This is quite clearly paralleled in DeLillo's critique of postmodernism, since people assume that Murray's postmodern monologues will have meaning purely because they are postmodern. The houses do not include just the typically depicted white stone people traditionally think of but all sort of different colors and styles. The closer to the mountains the darker the stones are. The reason for this is that the type of stone that was found in the area is what was usually used in making the house. The country part of the island is mountainous with goats scaling anything they can get their hooves on. For example one might find one ascending a neighbor's stone fence or perhaps a car. There are tons of goats on the island but they are never seen as pests. Goats are a useful farm animal as they can supply both milk, which is used to make Feta cheese, and meat. Finding a hamburger on the island is difficult because mostly goats and sheep are raised. However there is always plenty of gyro and souvlaki. Fish is also really big in Chios. Just a peek at the coast and someone will find small boats bringing in the day's catch. This means the fish is always fresh and if the restaurant ever runs out of something they can just call out to a local fisherman to pick up some more. Cosmo Panetta did just that in 1958, leaving his homeland of Greece. Since his move to Canada, Panetta has opened two successful businesses, a variety store and a drive–in/take–out restaurant. Panetta now has several business opportunities to take a popular menu item, the Cosmobob, to the mass–market. Panetta has some important decisions to make on the future of his family business. The Cosmobob gave Panetta and edge over the competitive drive–in/take–out chains in the area as the Cosmobob's popularity grew. By 1998, Panetta's restaurants had assets worth $480,000 and had sales just under $1,163,000. In September 1998, Panetta took his Cosmobob, originally an in–house product, and successfully marketed it to local restaurants and the demand for the product quickly outgrew the restaurant's production facilities. Selling his Cosmobob at $48.96 per case, with a variable cost per case at $31.20, 100 cases were sold in both September and October but sales quadrupled to 400 cases in November and just under 600 cases in December. By February 1999, the operations had reached its capacity for both in–house and external customers. Panetta would not be able to accommodate any increased demands on his product which would mean a loss of revenue. Panetta realized a bigger production facility was needed. He also needed a large freezer capacity since the icehouse he was renting space from for $400 per month also caused him shipping problems. Panetta had two potential options for a new facility. ... Comedic Mystery Play: Kill Your Parents In Viking Alberta In the comedic mystery play, Kill Your Parents in Viking Alberta, written by Bryce Hodgson and Charlie Kerr, directed by Rachel Cairns, brought the audience to an unexpected cliff hanger conclusion. Performed at the Storefront Theatre and surrounded by a questionable looking area, the five actors wonderfully performed the play written about three siblings who finally got together to sign their grandmother's will with a surprising twist. This minimalistic, one set production had a great usage of every design element from the props, costumes, to lighting and sound. This was a one set production, set in a kitchen, with a dining table with multiple foods such as ice cream sundaes, and souvlaki dinner. It includes full range of culinary techniques: preparing raw, cooked foods for the table; final dressing of meats, fish, and fowl; cleaning, cutting fruits, vegetables; preparing salads; garnishing dishes, planning meals. Origins of cooking are obscure. Primitive humans have savored roast meat, flesh of beast killed in forest fire was found to be more palatable and easier to chew and digest than the customary raw meat. However roasting spitted meats over fires remained virtually the sole culinary technique until the Paleolithic Period, when the Aurignacian people of southern France began to steam their food over hot embers by wrapping it in wet leaves. Aside from such hard procedures as toasting wild grains on flat rocks and using shells, skulls, or hollowed stones to heat liquids, no further culinary advances were made. So advancement in cooking techniques made culinary methods improved with the introduction of earthenware and introduction of pottery during Neolithic Period . The cooking techniques of boiling, stewing, braising, and perhaps even incipient forms of pickling, frying, and oven baking were added. Early cooks ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a quick service restaurant that focuses on kebabs, shawarmas and falafels, as well as soft drinks, fries and Middle Eastern flatbreads. The objective of the Kebab King model is that the company should ultimately become a nationwide fast food franchise. There are presently no major kebab franchise chains in America. Yet, kebab is one of the most popular foods in Europe and the Middle East, and many Asian and African cultures also have similar grilled meat products. In North America, such products are less common, but the Greek souvlaki is known and accepted. One of the most important aspects of the business is the franchise component. When starting a business that is going to be a franchise, there are unique elements that must be taken into consideration. These include standardization, and the capability of franchisers to adapt within a standardized format (Kaufman & Eroglu, 1999). An example would be McDonalds, where franchise owners have come up with some of the company's most lucrative products, while simultaneously operating within a strict franchise format. The SWOT analysis has developed as a method of helping to form strategy (Dyson, 2004). It can be used to help understand the internal and external environments.
