Essay About United Nations
Writing an essay on the topic of the United Nations can be both challenging and rewarding. The
difficulty lies not only in the vast amount of information available on the subject but also in the
need to synthesize and present this information in a coherent and compelling manner.
Firstly, the United Nations is a multifaceted organization with a wide range of functions, from
promoting international peace and security to addressing global issues such as poverty, climate
change, and human rights. Researching and understanding the intricacies of each of these aspects
can be time-consuming and intellectually demanding.
Moreover, the historical context of the United Nations adds another layer of complexity.
Exploring the organization's origins, its role in various geopolitical events, and the evolution of
its structure and functions over the years requires thorough investigation and a nuanced
understanding of international relations.
Crafting an essay on the United Nations also involves navigating through the diverse
perspectives and criticisms surrounding the organization. Analyzing both the successes and
failures of the UN, as well as considering the differing opinions on its effectiveness, demands a
balanced and well-reasoned approach.
In terms of structuring the essay, maintaining clarity and coherence while addressing the
multifaceted nature of the topic poses a significant challenge. Balancing the need for depth and
breadth in the discussion, and ensuring that each section contributes to the overall thesis,
requires careful planning and organization.
While challenging, writing an essay on the United Nations can be a valuable exercise in critical
thinking and research skills. It provides an opportunity to engage with complex global issues and
develop a more nuanced understanding of the role and impact of this international organization.
In conclusion, tackling an essay on the United Nations demands time, dedication, and intellectual
rigor. However, the insights gained through the process can contribute to a deeper understanding
of global affairs. If you find yourself needing assistance with such assignments or other
academic tasks, consider exploring resources like HelpWriting.net, where you can access

Descriptive Essay About The Maze
The Maize Maze
Diego Villada Youel
As I crawled in the back of my dad s truck, ready to go to the corn maze, my
stomach felt like it had a hundred butterflies were trying to get out. About halfway
to the corn maze my stomach felt like the butterflies that we re trying to storm out
had ten babies each, that we re now trying to burst out like fireworks. I could taste
the dirt under my nails when I was chewing them due to the tizzy feeling I had about
what was going to happen in the maze.
Finally, after what felt like a week before I arrived to the farm we hopped in line to
buy tickets for the maze. I heard screams coming from the maze and the butterflies
flew away, but, pigeons took their place and I felt like puking. I heard people,
coming out of the maze talking about their favorite parts. One of them announced
their favorite was when she was chased by the man with a chainsaw. Just the thought
of being chased made me want to curl up in a ball, find a nice hiding place and never
come out. On the other hand, I undoubtedly wanted to mosey through the maze, to
show my brother and sister that I could make it through the maze and not appear as
scared as them.
After getting our tickets, we hopped in line for the maze. In the rear of the line, we
talked and took pictures. There were about twenty people in front of us, but, In no
time we were at the front of the line. As soon as our tickets were checked, we walked
into the maze and it smelled like hay and corn. I could feel
ZoГ« Quinn s The Fine Young Capitalists
When you think of the average gamer who comes to mind? On television you
probably see some over weight and unemployed guy who is living in the basement
of his parents house. The visual discourse in this is that only males are gaming
nerds and that there is no place in the field for women. The group called The Fine
Young Capitalists (TFYC) try to change that narrative with a contest of their own
allowing women to create their own ideas for games. Some disturbing
contradictions came out of their mission, and it was criticized by game developer

Advocating for women s equality in gaming, she questioned the process of the
women developers basically working for free and giving up their ideas. Rappard
said that his intentions were only to help women, but only earning eight percent
commission seems to be very little compared to what they could make. There is
also the problem that rest of the money could have went to men s charities. She
also claimed the group was transphobic (Kidd, 2017, p. 128). Trans people had to
declare themselves as female before March 11, 2014 to be eligible to participate.
The reason was so that men would not declare themselves as women just to gain
access to a potential reward, but the idea of this is
The Role Of Children In Goodnight Mister Tom, By
Michelle...
Children look up to parents as their role models and influencers, however
sometimes they do not fulfill these roles. Goodnight Mister Tom is a novel set in
England in 1939 at the start of World War 2. The author, Michelle Magorian, tells a
story through this world event about a young child who is evacuated to the country
at the anticipation of the war. The child, William Beech, is sent away by his abusive
mother in London to the small country town of Little Weirwold to live with a
stranger, Tom Oakley. Magorian uses this to demonstrate the impact of the behaviour
of parental figures on a growing child. This is explored through the characteristics of
Mrs Beech and Mr Tom, how they are compared and contrasted and the effects of
their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The baby was described as smelly and she had tape on her mouth to stop her from
trying to get attention as Mrs Beech claimed that the baby also needed to learn
discipline. She also has a warped view of Will and the kind of person he is, shown
when he brings home gifts from Little Weirwold and she accuses him of begging
for it or stealing it. She also accuses Will of being full of sin although it is obvious
that he is polite and kind to others. When Will came back from the country healthier
and more confident than she remembered, she believed that she had to silence him
into obedience and was scared that he had threatened her authority . We can see that
she is very insecure about her role in society and as a mother. Mrs Beech is a bad
parent is clearly unfit for bringing up children.
Tom Oakley is a kind man who cares for and loves Will and is a positive role model
for him. He is a healthy, strong old man who lives in the country town of Little
Weirwold. The description of Tom s physical appearance already tells us that he can
take care of himself and is probably more reliable as a parent figure. William Beech
ends up being placed in his care when he is evacuated from London. Tom lives in a
graveyard near a church, and is only asked to care for Will because of this. It is
revealed that Tom lives where he does because his dead wife and child are buried
there and he has a hard time letting go of them. Ironically, his child was also called

Cost Volume Profit Analysis:
Its Assumptions and Their Pitfalls
By Duncan Williamson Introduction The importance of identifying and criticising
the underlying assumptions of cost volume profit analysis (CVP analysis) rests on
the practical application of it: anyone who has ever tried (or anyone who may wish)
to apply CVP analysis in reality, whilst trying to apply the substance of CVP theory
will have found severe difficulties. These notes will help you solve those problems.

It should be remembered that this graph refers to the whole business and, as we
have already agreed, a reasonably large business is complex: consequently,
although a statistical analysis can be carried out, its results will not always be as
simple to interpret as the assumptions on which CVP analysis, and the example
surrounding diagram one, would have us believe. Imagine the problems which
must be faced by the analyst trying to cope with the kind of cost portrayed in
diagram five: no longer a straight line at all; and such cost profiles are likely to be
the normal: as opposed to straight lines, that is. More than all of this, though: it is
frequently the case that even the people working in an organisation will have little
or no idea a) a) of their fixed/variable cost split; and
b) b) b) how to split their total costs into their fixed and variable components if asked!
It is these two aspects that often cause management accountants to assume linearity
and/or spend many hours analysing total costs. Assessing the fixed and variable cost
split can be fraught with difficulties and can be time consuming. 2 Fixed costs remain
fixed even over a wide range of activity. Another simplifying assumption which
The Life Of The Landscape Essay
The landscape changed quite drastically as we left the lush rainforest behind and
entered the semi arid region in the South of Okanagan in British Columbia,
Canada. Green fir trees made way for golden rolling hills and scrubby terrain.
Adding a splash of colour to the otherwise dry looking terrain were the green
vineyards perched against the gentle sloping hills. This might come as a surprise, but
Canada s only desert is home to a growing winecommunity with many award
winning wines being produced here. Welcome to Osoyoos.
As we approached the town, a large lake came into view. Osoyoos Lake is the
warmest freshwater lake in Canada and is surrounded by pristine vineyards along
its perimeter. 37 wineries are now a member of The Oliver Osoyoos Winery
Association, a non profit organization with a goal to develop the wine industry in
Oliver and Osoyoos through education and promotion. While driving through the
region, we decided to visit a few well known and lesser known wineries and learn
about their history.
Stoneboat Vineyards
We passed many picturesque wineries as we drove through the valley, each
offering wine tasting to anyone who is keen to sample their BC wine. We stopped
at Stoneboat Vineyards, a family owned winery only 20 minutes from downtown
Osoyoos. The lovely Julie Martiniuk greeted us, who together with her husband
Lanny, purchased a 15 acre orchard in 1979 and planted their first vines in 1983. 40

Differences Between Culture, Race, And Class

to schooling, family, religion, education and language. The purpose of this paper is to
highlight the effects that culture, race, and class have on human s behaviors,
resilience, struggles and faith. . The cross culturecountries of analysis will be

makes this comparison even more compelling? With worlds so distant, one might

though Claudio was raised a Roman Catholic and I an Anglican, we both believe in

beliefs. From my perspective I, believe in heaven and a hell. Coupled with, being

accomplished the purpose we were meant to achieve. If for some reason, we did not
achieve our purpose while we were on earth, then there should be consequences for
our actions or missteps when our souls depart this earth. Claudio on the other hand,
whose early years were deeply engrossed in becoming a priest, has drawn a
connection from his own life experience. For instance, he seems to come to the
conclusion that there is a heaven, but not a hell. He also elaborated that the
persecution that humans endure during their lifetime on earth is the hell we

Space Exploration and Why It s Important On October 4th, 1957, Spunick 1 was the
first artificial satellite to be launched into outer space by the Soviet Union. On April
12th, 1969, Yuri Gagarin was the first person to orbit the earthin a space capsule
called Vostok 1. On July 11th, 1969, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin were the first
humans to take foot steps on the moon through the Apollo 11 mission. On
February 14th 1990, the Voyager 1 space probe took a picture of the earth from a
distance of 6 billion kilometers, the farthest anything man made object had ever
been from home. Carl Sagan wrote a book with the same title stating: Look again at
that dot. That s here. That s home. That s us. On it everyone you love, everyone you
know, everyone you ever heard of, every human being who ever was, lived out their
lives. These events, and many after them, are some of the most important and
revolutionary in space exploration history. These events show why we should learn
the importance of space exploration, why we should continue it, and why space is
the final frontier. The most important reason for the continuation of space
exploration is that it helps us understand our earth and how the human race can
preserve it and our species. For example, without satellites, a lot of the knowledge
we have about the earth today, such as weather patterns and the effects of pollution,
would not be as advanced. From space we can closely
A Brief Note On Plagiarism And Academic Theft
Citing is mainly used to avoid plagiarism, but a writer should always cite sources
in an essay and in presentations because they need to acknowledge the use of other
people s work . (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing a source is important as it helps a
reader to understand how [an] argument was assembled and what influenced [the
writers] thinking (McMillan, 2010: 192) which helps a reader to form an opinion
on the work. (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing demonstrates the writer s knowledge of
relevant sources and their capability to be selective in the materials chosen; then
incorporate this with the knowledge and information already obtained from lectures
and seminars, expanding on ideas and improving the argument. (Barrass, 2005: 132)
Plus it helps the reader to assess the extent of the writer s wider reading, which can
also help when giving feedback and advice. (McMillan, 2010: 192)
Plagiarism is academic theft, it is extremely important to avoid plagiarism not only
for academic purposes but also for legal reasons. It is when someone uses someone
else s ideas and written work within their own written work and without citing them,
therefore claiming them as their own ideas. Kirton (2007) states that providing
evidence is an important dimension of academic writing , so when quotations and
citations are not used a writer is plagiarizing someone else s intellectual property .
(Kirton, 2007: 155)
Plagiarism does not necessarily mean stealing word for word what someone else has

the adoption. Many of his ailments did not surface until many years later. However,
for all of his health issues, he proved a loving and trusting companion. For starters, he
carried catherpes. Thankfully, this strain can only pass from feline to feline.
Generally, with medication, it will not harm the animal too much. However, I only

disappearance today.
First of all, there are lots of facts about Amelia s early life. One interesting fact
about Amelia s early life is her childhood. Amelia was born in Atchison, Kansas on
July 24, 1897. Her family members are Muriel her sister, her parents were Edwin

Containment In US Foreign Policy
Containment in U.S. Foreign Policy Containment has been a guiding principle in
U.S. foreign policy for years, but was it the only guiding principle during the Cold
War and other foreign affairs between 1945 and 1991? The end of World War II
shaped the policies of the Cold War, and the Cold War shaped US foreign policy for
the next twenty five years. (Lecture Notes, January 10th) After the horrific effects
from the bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of World War II in August
of 1945 the United States and the Soviet Union had incentive to keep the Cold War
from turning into a Hot War. (Ingalls, pg. 13) This lead to the development of the

nuclear weapons. (Lecture Notes, April 18 20) The US did manage to contain the

Accounting is referred as an art of collecting, classifying, and manipulating financial
data for organizations and individuals. It is also used to determine financial stability
or financial health of organizations. Accounting is the language of business and

businesses cannot survive. It is important because it helps in analyzing, decision

HsГјn Tzu and Jean-Paul Sartre Comparison of two
Philosophers
Fraud, murder, courage, and strong will are all words that can be linked to
humanity. These words will often raise questions like, who did it, how they did it, or
why. Can it be that the true answer to these questions lies in getting a better
understanding of our human nature? Does man act according to his divine plan, or is
he taught how to act? In analyzing the works of HsГјn Tzu and Jean Paul Sartre, I will
determine which of these two philosophers offers the strongest foundation for living
an ethical life in the modern era.
HSГњN TZU
HsГјn Tzu is one of the main founders of eastern philosophy and is considered one of
the three great sages in China along with Mencius and Confucious. Tzu s style of

Tzu argues that the sages created laws to correct man s evil nature like those
previously mentioned, and therefore the sages are valued and needed. According to
Tzu man does not suffer any kind of anguish or pain from doing evil acts, in doing
them they just fulfill their needs and feel pleasure.
On the other hand, Sartre believes that man, always chooses the good, and nothing
can be good for us without being good for all (145) otherwise, man suffers anguish
from direct responsibility to the other men to whom it involves (146) choosing the
opposite is like choosing evil. Therefore, man teaches himself to do good because his
choices are equal to those choices acceptable for all mankind.
I agree with Tzu, that people who have not learned the value of caring for others
first without receiving any prize in return for their good actions could not feel any
remorse in being selfish since that is all that they know. Like Neanderthals, it takes
many years to evolve and many more years for learning to happen so that man may
be able to act civilized. However, once one has learned to do good it depends on
every man to continue to practice the teachings he has acquired and also to keep
learning more than necessary to grow.
Comparisons that they make using the word Artisan are also employed differently.
Tzu uses the example of the potter and his clay, which the artisan turns to a vessel.
Tzu states that, the vessel then, is the
Second And Third Wave Feminism
Throughout the twentieth century feminist movements changed the first world
dramatically, but during the second half the twentieth century the views and goals
of what women wanted in life changed from simply asking for fair pay and equal
rights to jobs to wanting their lifestyle changed. The impact of the second and third
wave of feminists held a positive sphere around the fact that women had a bigger
voice in politics and economics, but socially feminismwas almost purely negative.
Feminist groups, mostly in the late second wave and the entirety of the third wave,
consisted almost entirely of misandrists.
The feminist movements of the second half of the twentieth century made great leaps
for women in politics as well as the level of education women were receiving. ...

Overall the feminist movements of the second and third wave have made a good

Describe How The Sporophyte Stages Of A Plant Life
Cycle...
Chapter29
1.Describe how the sporophyte and gametophyte stages of a plant life cycle differ.
The life cycles of all land plants alternate between two generations of distinct
multicellular organisms which are gametophytes and sporophytes. Each generation
give rise to the other otherwise known as alternation of generations which is when the
life cycle includes both multicellular haploid organisms and multicellular diploid
organisms. Gametophyte is a gamete producing, multicellular haploid (1n). It is
named for its production by mitosis of haploid gametes such as egg and sperm, that
fuse during fertilization, forming diploid zygotes. This mitotic division of the zygote
produces a multicellular diploid sporophyte, which is a spore producing plant. Nature
sporophyte produces haploid spores, which are reproductive cells that can develope
into a new haploid organism without fusing with another cell. Mitotic division of the
spore cell produces a new multicellular gametophyte, and the cycle begins again.
2.Explain why most bryophytes grow close to the ground.
Bryophytes are nonvascular plants that are seedless, and do not form a monophyletic
group (a clade). There favorable habitat is in moist soil and or tree bark which allows

Diction In A Tale Of Two Cities
The Use of Diction and Characterization in A Tale of Two Cities
In Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities, it is explicitly mentioned several times that
Charles Darnay and Sydney Carton look particularly similar. The similarities in the
appearances of Carton and Darnay later play a substantial role in the conclusion of
the novel. Despite their physical similarities, the two are completely different
individuals and are nothing alike. Chapter 4 of the novel juxtaposes the two
characters together and displays the differences in their personalities. In A Tale of
Two Cities, Charles Dickens exhibits the diversity of Carton and Darnay s
personalities, by embedding imagery and characterization into the context.

Darnay is a softhearted, admirable man, who despite his ties to the French
aristocracy, rejects their ungracious principles. Darnay also can be regarded as a
modest man. After he is acquitted by Carton, he elucidates that I hardly seem yet,
returned Charles Darnay, to belong to this world again. (Dickens 83). The quote
displays how Darnay is unsure that after being convicted he can return to live a
happy life. He feels that he cannot rightfully exist without continually being
reminded of his past actions. The quote uses diction to display Darnay s feelings,
and portrays him as a prudent man. In the chapter, Darnay clearly wishes to avoid
conflict with Sydney Carton, characterizing him as a kindhearted, benevolent man.
He says, Nevertheless, pursued Darnay, rising to ring the bell, there is nothing in
that, I hope, to prevent my calling the reckoning, and our parting without ill blood
on either side. (Dickens 85). Essentially, Darnay elucidates that whether or not
Carton tolerates him, he should still express his gratitude for his assistance in the
trial. Charles Darnay declares that the two should not be on poor terms, although
they mutually dislike each other. Darnay does not want to depart from dinner with
the agony of ill blood with Carton, and hopes his declaration will sway Carton to
reconcile. His statement displays how compassionate and amiable Charles Darnay
is, and how he truly serves as a role model for Sydney

False consciousness refers to the manner in which material, political and recognized

By connecting mass produced merchandises to the unconscious desires of the
community, Barnays learnt that people could be persuaded to want things they did
not need. Bernays investigated and applied methods of mass consumer influence, by
means of any way to attain the profit objective of companies and his desires. It was
Bernays who established the first public relations firm and devised the term
engineering consent . It refers to the how our notions about human nature have
transformed and how the expansion of psychology has permitted social associations
to practice these concepts and to exercise further influence over the general public.
Barnays was also sure that the concept of venerating consumer merchandise would
prove beneficial if used in government schemes for the support and governing of the
multitude. He recommended using reversed psychology to set free the illogical being
of the individual, and by pleasing their irrational innermost wishes, individuals may
perhaps be made content and passive. By businesses creating huge quantities of
consumer goods, the behavior of their consumers came to be primeval and instinctive.
Barnays had accomplished the demonstrative effects between merchandises and
individuals and consumer influence.

Informative Essay On Mardi Gras
Mardi Gras, first introduced to New Orleans in the early 1730s, is now one of the
most celebrated holidays by many natives in Louisiana. Several events are planned
for the celebration, beginning in late October or November, which leads into the
Mardi Gras season. Mardi Gras involves a series of events and products like Mardi
GrasBalls, delicious cakes that are famously known as King Cakes, and parades
every day beginning in January and ending on the day that is designated Mardi Gras

the Catholic holiday that marks the beginning of Lent. During the parades, the people
riding on the floats throw beads, candy, and stuffed animals, sometimes even other

Main Characters In The Land Of Stories A Grimm Warning
In the book, The Land of Stories A Grimm Warning by Chris Colfer, the main
character, Rook, changes throughout the book due to the conflicts he faces.
To show this, in the beginning of the book Rook was helping out the fairies, or more
importantly Alex; the Fairy Godmother in training. He would go on walks with her
and he later helped her figure out why Little Bo Peep wanted to become the next
queen on Red Riding Hood Kingdom. I was going to suggest that if you re curious
about Little Bo Peep s intentions, we could sneak onto her farmand have a look
around. (Colfer 135). In this piece of evidence Rook is helping Alex go see what
Little Bo Peep could be upto. He and Alex then go to her farm and look around. He
helped her discover something she otherwise might not have been able to without the
help of his idea. Rook and Alex did have a crush on each other and that could have
been why he wanted to do this as something to impress her, but he helped her
nonetheless. Without the help of Rook Alex could have never found this out. She
pulled him behind a giant patch of tulips and threw her arms around his neck. She
had held it together very well, but Rook was the only person she didn t feel like she
had to be brave in front of. (Colfer 311). In this piece of evidence Alex had just had
one of the hardest days of her life. When she saw Rook she immediately felt joy for

Every single day is a struggle for an autistic child and his or her family. Autism

experience abnormalities in social functioning, language, often act in puzzling ways,
and usually appears before the age of three (Mash Wolfe, 2010). Although the exact

Since Skinner s time there has been much research done and many new techniques
made in ABA especially in regards of teaching people how to increase behaviors
associated with learning and decreasing those that may inhibit learning. These new
techniques have been used to help successfully treat or improve the lives of
several people with various degrees and types of disabilities and learning disorders.
These techniques have been adapted from being used exclusively on adults and
modified for children. These techniques can be formally initiated, meaning that they
are done in a classroom or a behavioral analysts office, or they can be taught to
parents or caretakers and are often used to develop skills such as learning theory of
mind, eye contact, social skills, and other necessary skills (Renna, 2004).
Children with autism have difficulties understanding social models and so many of
them have difficulties acquiring social skills while children with health development
normally gain social and appropriate behavior by observing a model (Mash Wolfe,
2010). If a child with autism is able to acquire social and adaptive skills they still
need to learn how to generalize correct behaviors to different situations and tend to
need consistent practice in maintaining those skills. To an autistic child generalization
can be extremely difficult to break down and understand. Because of this ABA is

Aaron Copland How We Listen To Music Analysis
The great and respected Aaron Copland was an American composer known for his
ballad scores. In his essay, How We Listen To Music Copland wanted avid music
listeners to realize that you can not just be dazed. His mind had sorted out three
planes of listening for us: the sensuous plane, the expressive plane, and the sheerly
musical plane. He simply defined each plane, illustrating it, and then contrasts
between the three. With this people will be a cautious of their musicsurroundings.

successfully integrated the perspective of a marginalized group into the collective
memory via the narrative space.
Apart from the factors that help Alvarez construct the in between space for narration,
let s move on to examine the functions of it in the novel. To start with, the in between
space contributes to improving the long existed gendered collective memory.
Collective memory, generally speaking, may be explicitly gendered because, as

Call points out that Alvarez emphasizes the unique process of female identity
formation as a means of illustrating the brutality of the Trujillo s dictatorship.
Women not only define themselves in context of human relationships but also
judge others in terms of their ability to care (Call 15), since the Mirabal sisters
grow in connection with others, they place high priority on the relationships and
needs of others in their lives (Call 10). Carol Gilligan and Lyn Mikel Brown write,
Women tended to speak of themselves as living in connection with others and yet

of becoming a good woman and having relationships (Call 24). In general, Female
development is often described as a process that focuses on connection and
relationships to others. Alvarez s depiction of the Mirabal sisters reflects these
principles as her characters mature into strong women by learning the value of
selflessly caring for others (Call 9). By contrast, the Mirabal sisters concern for
people contrasts to Trujillo s character, which Alvarez portrays as violent, selfish and

Love For England And Lucy By William Wordsworth
Before the Lyrical Ballad was published, William Wordsworth spent time in
Germany away from England. During this time, he composed a set of poems that
would eventually be known as the Lucy Poems . This set of poems would make
their way into the first edition of the Lyrical Ballad. All of them, except for one.
Out of the five poems he writes, I travell d among unknown Men wouldn t appear in
the Lyrical Ballad alongside the other four Lucy Poems (Locke, 44). This particular
poem, compared to the rest, is the most iconic poem for showing Wordsworth s love
for England and Lucy . I travell d among unknown Men is a four stanza poem with
four lines in each stanza. The format is in an ABAB style and consists of the first

The fact that Wordsworth puts In Lands beyond the Sea in his poem signifies that
during the creation of this poem he was, at one point, away from his home. In this
case that place was Germany. Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the
audience on a deeper level of thought. For those who have been through a similar
situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking among
unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following
stanza, Nor, England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to
make the primary message of his poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in
Germany, is realizing how much he loves England. Because he has stayed away
from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he loves it.
Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he
will never leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he
despises Germany or loves the country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is
because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a separate focus in this poem.
Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by expressing how
his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced
into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire
and is confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field

The play Fence by August Wilson s has a connection with real world fence. The
yard is a small dirt yard, partially fenced, except for the last scene, with a wooden

The Opposite is a tree from which hangs a ball made of rags. A baseball bat leans
against the tree. Two oil drums serve as garbage receptacles and sit near the house at

The Character Description
For the past few English classes, we have been reading The Canterbury Talesby
Geoffrey Chaucer. Chaucer lived from 1342 1400, around the time of the Hundred
Years War.
He fought in this battle, was captured and then ransomed with money contributed by
the English
king, King Edward himself. After his military campaign, Chaucer became a court
official. This
required him to travel to countries such as France, Spain and Italy. In these places he
learned
about each of their cultures. Shortly thereafter he held multiple governmental posts.
While he
worked these positions, he was able to write multiple works. In this time, he wrote
the Book of
the Duchess, the Parliament of Fowls, Troilus and Cressida, the Legend of Good
Women and his
masterpiece, The Canterbury Tales. The Canterbury Tales is so highly regarded
because it
utilizes Middle English, it gives an accurate depiction of 14th century English society
and the fact
that it still entertains people today.
One of these Tales that s widely read throughout the world is the Pardoner s Tale.

This is partially motivated by Ma s acknowledgement that the Chinese economy is

reaching these massive goals will require global expansion to new markets. The US

Our primary focus here lies in determining the effectiveness and awareness of the
currently existing communications network at Middlesex University and to also gain
an insight on the preferences and attitudes of the students regarding the same.
Research designs can be broadly labeled as exploratory, descriptive or causal. For
achieving the desired answers to our current problem, exploratory research was
chosen. Exploratory research designs are ones characterized by a flexible and
evolving approach to understand marketing phenomena that are inherently difficult to
measure. (Malhotra 2007)
Some of the reasons for choosing this mode of research are; * Exploratory research is
optimum for indentifying and exploring concepts in development of products or in
forms of marketing communications; a primary objective for Middlesex University. *
As stated by Malhotra(2007), its vital to develop an understanding of the structure of
beliefs and attitudes in order to aid the interpretation of data structures which goes to
invest in another primary objective; that of understanding the student s attitudes and
preferences to Middlesex University s communications systems. * Mainly, to explore
the reasons behind vivid statistical differences between different demographic groups.

Stepping Up, Speaking Up And Taking Responsibility Essay
Stepping up, speaking up and taking responsibility...... Now that we are all doing
more as momentum builds, it s a good time to remind ourselves about ways to take
on more responsibility, speak up, step up and share our thoughts. Sticking to our
comfort zone can sometimes lead to a lack of personal and professional growth but
if we become more proactive, enthusiastic and willing to tackle difficult
conversations, the outcome can take us from an ordinary wallflower to a dynamic
contributor! Here are 5 good reasons why we all need to speak up (even when we
think we shouldn t) 1.Silence is deemed approval You might think that staying silent
keeps you from being involved in conflict but silence is as much an active form of
communication as talking. You might feel shy or that you are being judged or you
might even feel that other people are dominating the conversation but everyone here
has a valuable contribution to make. Your opinions and ideas do matter and we want
to hear them. 2.Make the greater good the priority By sharing information, offering
opinions and suggestions, you may open up the lines of communication between
team members, making them aware of certain situations and perhaps even help to
resolve a problem. 3.Show that you are invested If someone invites you into a
conversation, show your commitment to the process and people involved by being
active and vocal (using tact and empathy of course). Speaking up is an important
form of honesty which builds trust.

not enforceable under contract law but is enforceable under promissory estoppel
which is a principle that a promise will be legally enforceable even if consideration
for the promise was not provided by the promise so long as some requirements are
satisfied (James, 2014, p301)

Essay On Steelers History
The Greatest Team In Steelers History Is The One That Didn t Win A Super Bowl.
tumblr_lspib1M3Cz1qm9rypo1_1280[1] Jack Lambert still looked the same despite
the decades that had passed since the mid 1970s. Intense and menacing, the former
All Pro Steeler linebacker and Hall Of Famer scowled slightly as he recalled a
distant season that most Pittsburgh Steeler Fans have forgotten. For Lambert and
many of his teammates, the 1976 Steeler squad was the greatest in team history.
Pittsburgh was the team of the decade during the 70s having claimed four world
championships (1974, 1975, 1978 and 1979) during that ten year span. Yet for many
former players from that era, it is the 1976 Bicentennial season that they seem to
cherish the most. As... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Oakland s unlikely win dealt an emotional blow to the Steelers psyche that would
haunt them for many weeks to come. Pittsburgh beat Cleveland the following
week in the home opener, yet continued to stumble by going on to loose their next
three games. Suddenly Steeler opponents were giving back what they had been
getting for two years. A team built on defense and intimidation was now being
bullied by teams they had ground to dust just one year before. Pittsburg s backslide
was punctuated in week five during a rematch with the Browns. The lasting
memory of Cleveland s Joe Turkey Jones slamming Terry Bradshaw head first into
the turf of Municipal Stadium epitomized the shocking debut of the 76 Steelers. A
proud team had hit rock bottom. Pittsburgh s record was now 1 and 4. With
Bradshaw injured, the Steelers would have to limp along with an unknown rookie
quarterback named Mike Kruczek. With the Division leading Cincinnati Bengals
coming to town the following week, the prospect of a third straight Super Bowl
was nonexistent. Bleak skies and rain squalls greeted Pittsburgh for the Bengals
game. Three Rivers Stadium, gray and foreboding during that era looked especially
gloomy that Sunday. Most assumed that Cincinnati would attain the mantel of
division supremacy. The Bengals had a 4 and 1 record and were the NFL s version
of space age technology. The nation focused in to witness the passing of the torch
from Chuck Noll s defense
Career And College Research Paper Essay
Career and College Research Paper
I decided to go with a career in astronomy. An astronomer is a scientist who tries to
understand the wonders of the Universe as well the wonders beyond our universe.
Astronomers also study the stars, planets, and other galaxies ( Careers in Astronomy
| IAU ). I chose a career in astronomy because I have always been fascinated by space
and how the universe works. It is extremely important to understand education or
training requirements, skills or talents needed, the salary and benefits offered, and the
duties for a particular career when making the decision. The job location for
astronomers depends greatly on if the astronomer in question works for a private
industry, the government, a college, or a government supported institution. Almost
one third of astronomers work for the government or government supported
institutions. The remainder of astronomers work either in a private industry on some
type of space related projects, in science centers, at planetariums, or in some other
type of educational and public outreach efforts (Strobel). Although astronomers spend
a lot of time away from home and their families, they mostly work in an office like
environment. Astronomers work full time, but since they are more than likely
observing something in space, they might have to work during the night so the sun
does not interfere with their observations ( Occupational Outlook Handbook
Physicists and Astronomers ). Anyone who is interested in
Language Reflection
There will be times were the kids were getting restless or acted uninterested in the
class and Mrs. Manner will call them by their names and tell them to pay attention, if
the behavior was repeated she will say something along the lines of ; Mr., this is the
second time, I had to call your attention, and that usually made them stop and listen.
When communicating nonverbally, she will open her eyes wide to show
appreciation for answering in a correct manner or will narrow her eyes to tell children
to control themselves.
Afterwards, the children who stayed in the rug will trace the letter assigned and
make a picture about it with Mrs. Manner. Yet the children in the round table with
me, will be read a story and I was suppose to ask them questions about the story and
sometimes we had to sing songs accordingly. Subsequently, my group will later
switch to the floor and I will repeat the same lesson to the kids who were earlier in
the rug. Sometimes the whole group will be overly excited and Mrs. Manner will
say Macaroni and Cheese to which the whole group will answer; Everybody Freeze.
This usually refocused the student s attention to the class. Some children will always
participate and give accurate answers, while other students try persistently to disrupt
the class.
Moreover, some kids will raise their hands and then give you a personal account of
their vacation or something completely unrelated to the class. Mrs. Manner taught me
how to refocus the attention by
Honor Code Dbq
Honor Codes: Hit or Miss? Honor codes are a set of rules or ethical principles
governing a community based on ideals that define what constitutes honorable
behavior within that community. The use of an honor code depends on the belief that
people can be trusted. Those who are violating the honor code can be subject to
punishment, including being expelled from the school. Schools should maintain the
use of honor codes so that dishonesty is deterred from. Honor codes are the
embodiment of two things trust and integrity. When schools maintain these honor
codes, it gives off many advantages. Unlike the majority of colleges where proctoring
of tests and exams is the responsibility of the faculty and/or administration, many
schools with academic honor codes allow students to take their exams without
proctors present, relying on peer monitoring to control cheating. (Source F) By
allowing non monitored tests, the honor codeinstills a better relationship between staff
and students. When a student is having a problem with the class, they will more
likely talk to the teacher rather than resort to copying. The code makes staff more
trust worthy.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At the University of Virginia, there s a saying that students soon commit to
memory: On my honor as a student, I have neither given nor received aid on this
assignment/exam. Students write this on every test in every class during their
college career, pledging as their predecessors have since 1842 never to lie, cheat or
steal. (Source D) By making students write this statement, it creates a false sense of
trust that can be abused. They are more likely to cheat because they think that no one
will notice just because they wrote a saying on a paper. By putting the honor code in
students faces, it creates a fake trust that can be easily
Yoruba Women Roles
The roles of women in Yoruba religion Women s roles have always been obscured
in African society. It is very diverse and controversial across African religions. The
ideations of equal rights and power for both sexes are nowhere apparent in African
culture. The portrayal of its culture is mainly presented from a masculine
perspective. Little do we know about women s roles and lives. It is uncommon to
see articles or newspapers that focus on feminine views and their social roles in
African religion. However, in Yoruba culture, the endeavor of Yoruba women that
strive for equality of power can be gradually perceived and attained in certain extents.
There is a belief of the Yoruba peoplesuggesting that relationship of men and women
are inalienable ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women also take part in spiritual aspect where they serve as healers of cultic
functionaries. The explanation of Olademo(2012) suggested that healers are
individuals who help to restore health to sick people and help them to overcome the
undesirable condition. When someone in the community suffers from sickness, it is
considered that the person is out of tune with nature (Olademo, 2012, p. 53) which is
also a sign that the person is losing the power he attains. This is the reason why
healing is crucial in Yoruba religion because it represents the completeness of person,
family and the community. Women are predominantly tide with every sector of daily
life. Most commonly, women are known as caring, meticulous, and humane. The job
of healing is compatible with the characterizations described above of women. The
duties of women healers are to remember all of the herb names and its usage, as they
are great importance in treating and healing sick people. Furthermore, women healers
offer consultation services for sick individuals, which some may require both
religious and physical healing. The position of woman healer is a great resemblance
of being a mother. They are so similar in the fact that they both demand caring and
patient. Unfortunately, there are constraints and prohibitions because the women s
physiological structure that prevent them from touching the spiritual elements and
refraining them to
Larkin vs Abse on Relationships Essay
Larkin and abse discussing relationships
Philip Larkin and Dannie Abse have very different and contrating attitudes to
relationships. On the whole, Larkin presents the concepts of love and marriage as
very superficial and meaningless, whereas Abse appears to be less such nihilistic and
more open and positive about such topics. The essay will discuss this contrast by
examing Larkin s Whitsun Weddings , Wild Oats and Arundel Tomb , and Dannie
Abse s Imitations and Sons . The poem entitled `The Whitsun Weddings` is an
observational piece by Larkin when he was travelling from Hull to London by train.
The poem has seven stanzas and is is typical of Larkin. The words are simple, the
emotions are blunted and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The heavy use of enjambment also carries this theory. Compare this to Dannie
Abse s Imitations . The poem centres on Abse s thoughts about his son and how he
has become an adolescent. Although the poem is rather negative, describing his
son as a chameleon therefore suggesting his son is changing. However unlike in
Whitsun Weddings is less pessimistic, saying that although he will die like his son
his family name will be passed down the generations and expresses some affection
for his offspring, whereas Larkin has no such optimism, he focuses on the fact that
he has no son and probably never will, much like in Larkin s Dockery and Son
where he contemplates his lack of contribution to his species existence of how his
life when he dies will cease to have meaning. The poem An Arundel Tomb written
by Phillip Larkin illustrates the relationship between two forms found on a tomb.
This poem shows the lies love can tell, and the falseness of how their relationship
is portrayed. The fact that their hands are clasped in one another s grip is seen to
be symbolic of their undying and everlasting love for each other. Larkin uses
humour, along with sarcasm and irony to demonstrate that this is in fact symbolic of
nothing and merely by a sculptor s sweet commissioned grace . How can we believe
this evident lie, for it is
The Prevention Of Protecting Information Systems From...
Intro
Cybersecurity it a term used to describe the act of protecting information systems
from unauthorized access or modification (xxx). The cybersecurity industry exists out
of necessity, with the ever increasing use of the internet and computers to perform
day to day actions something needed to be done to protect these systems and the data
they house. There are several societal benefits cybersecurity can provide, such as
preventing fraud and identity theft. Take credit card companies for example, if they
did not employ cybersecurity methods to the payment process criminals could
intercept the financial transactions and acquire customer s credit card numbers. This
could lead the more incidents like the 2013 target breach (xxx). With the ever
increasing quantity of medical records that are stored electronically, medical facilities
must increase the cybersecurity precautions in order to reduce how often breaches
occur and the effect of those breaches. Without an increased cybersecurity presence,
the cost mitigating incidents could rise above the current estimate of $6Billion per
year (xxx).
Operational risks
There are many operational risks that could impact a cybersecurity company. Some of
these risks include bad supply chain management and poor quality assurance
practices. Bad supply chain management can have a devastating effect on the security
of a product and/or service. For example, part of Lenovo s supply chain was to
acquiring software from a company called Superfish.

Essay About United Nations

  • 1. Essay About United Nations Writing an essay on the topic of the United Nations can be both challenging and rewarding. The difficulty lies not only in the vast amount of information available on the subject but also in the need to synthesize and present this information in a coherent and compelling manner. Firstly, the United Nations is a multifaceted organization with a wide range of functions, from promoting international peace and security to addressing global issues such as poverty, climate change, and human rights. Researching and understanding the intricacies of each of these aspects can be time-consuming and intellectually demanding. Moreover, the historical context of the United Nations adds another layer of complexity. Exploring the organization's origins, its role in various geopolitical events, and the evolution of its structure and functions over the years requires thorough investigation and a nuanced understanding of international relations. Crafting an essay on the United Nations also involves navigating through the diverse perspectives and criticisms surrounding the organization. Analyzing both the successes and failures of the UN, as well as considering the differing opinions on its effectiveness, demands a balanced and well-reasoned approach. In terms of structuring the essay, maintaining clarity and coherence while addressing the multifaceted nature of the topic poses a significant challenge. Balancing the need for depth and breadth in the discussion, and ensuring that each section contributes to the overall thesis, requires careful planning and organization. While challenging, writing an essay on the United Nations can be a valuable exercise in critical thinking and research skills. • 2. Descriptive Essay About The Maze The Maize Maze Diego Villada Youel As I crawled in the back of my dad s truck, ready to go to the corn maze, my stomach felt like it had a hundred butterflies were trying to get out. About halfway to the corn maze my stomach felt like the butterflies that we re trying to storm out had ten babies each, that we re now trying to burst out like fireworks. I could taste the dirt under my nails when I was chewing them due to the tizzy feeling I had about what was going to happen in the maze. Finally, after what felt like a week before I arrived to the farm we hopped in line to buy tickets for the maze. I heard screams coming from the maze and the butterflies flew away, but, pigeons took their place and I felt like puking. I heard people, coming out of the maze talking about their favorite parts. One of them announced their favorite was when she was chased by the man with a chainsaw. Just the thought of being chased made me want to curl up in a ball, find a nice hiding place and never come out. On the other hand, I undoubtedly wanted to mosey through the maze, to show my brother and sister that I could make it through the maze and not appear as scared as them. After getting our tickets, we hopped in line for the maze. In the rear of the line, we talked and took pictures. There were about twenty people in front of us, but, In no time we were at the front of the line. As soon as our tickets were checked, we walked into the maze and it smelled like hay and corn. I could feel

Trans people had to declare themselves as female before March 11, 2014 to be eligible to participate. The reason was so that men would not declare themselves as women just to gain access to a potential reward, but the idea of this is
  • 4. The Role Of Children In Goodnight Mister Tom, By Michelle... Children look up to parents as their role models and influencers, however sometimes they do not fulfill these roles. Goodnight Mister Tom is a novel set in England in 1939 at the start of World War 2. The author, Michelle Magorian, tells a story through this world event about a young child who is evacuated to the country at the anticipation of the war. The child, William Beech, is sent away by his abusive mother in London to the small country town of Little Weirwold to live with a stranger, Tom Oakley. Magorian uses this to demonstrate the impact of the behaviour of parental figures on a growing child. This is explored through the characteristics of Mrs Beech and Mr Tom, how they are compared and contrasted and the effects of their... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The baby was described as smelly and she had tape on her mouth to stop her from trying to get attention as Mrs Beech claimed that the baby also needed to learn discipline. She also has a warped view of Will and the kind of person he is, shown when he brings home gifts from Little Weirwold and she accuses him of begging for it or stealing it. She also accuses Will of being full of sin although it is obvious that he is polite and kind to others. When Will came back from the country healthier and more confident than she remembered, she believed that she had to silence him into obedience and was scared that he had threatened her authority . We can see that she is very insecure about her role in society and as a mother. Mrs Beech is a bad parent is clearly unfit for bringing up children. Tom Oakley is a kind man who cares for and loves Will and is a positive role model for him. He is a healthy, strong old man who lives in the country town of Little Weirwold. The description of Tom s physical appearance already tells us that he can take care of himself and is probably more reliable as a parent figure. William Beech ends up being placed in his care when he is evacuated from London. Tom lives in a graveyard near a church, and is only asked to care for Will because of this. It is revealed that Tom lives where he does because his dead wife and child are buried there and he has a hard time letting go of them. Ironically, his child was also called William. Mr Tom

Imagine the problems which must be faced by the analyst trying to cope with the kind of cost portrayed in diagram five: no longer a straight line at all; and such cost profiles are likely to be the normal: as opposed to straight lines, that is. More than all of this, though: it is frequently the case that even the people working in an organisation will have little or no idea a) a) of their fixed/variable cost split; and b) b) b) how to split their total costs into their fixed and variable components if asked! It is these two aspects that often cause management accountants to assume linearity and/or spend many hours analysing total costs. Assessing the fixed and variable cost split can be fraught with difficulties and can be time consuming. 2 Fixed costs remain fixed even over a wide range of activity. Another simplifying assumption which

The Life Of The Landscape Essay The landscape changed quite drastically as we left the lush rainforest behind and entered the semi arid region in the South of Okanagan in British Columbia, Canada. Green fir trees made way for golden rolling hills and scrubby terrain. Adding a splash of colour to the otherwise dry looking terrain were the green vineyards perched against the gentle sloping hills. This might come as a surprise, but Canada s only desert is home to a growing winecommunity with many award winning wines being produced here. Welcome to Osoyoos. As we approached the town, a large lake came into view. On February 14th 1990, the Voyager 1 space probe took a picture of the earth from a distance of 6 billion kilometers, the farthest anything man made object had ever been from home. The most important reason for the continuation of space exploration is that it helps us understand our earth and how the human race can preserve it and our species. • 10. A Brief Note On Plagiarism And Academic Theft Citing is mainly used to avoid plagiarism, but a writer should always cite sources in an essay and in presentations because they need to acknowledge the use of other people s work . (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing a source is important as it helps a reader to understand how [an] argument was assembled and what influenced [the writers] thinking (McMillan, 2010: 192) which helps a reader to form an opinion on the work. (McMillan, 2010: 192) Citing demonstrates the writer s knowledge of relevant sources and their capability to be selective in the materials chosen; then incorporate this with the knowledge and information already obtained from lectures and seminars, expanding on ideas and improving the argument. (Barrass, 2005: 132) Plus it helps the reader to assess the extent of the writer s wider reading, which can also help when giving feedback and advice. (McMillan, 2010: 192) Plagiarism is academic theft, it is extremely important to avoid plagiarism not only for academic purposes but also for legal reasons. It is when someone uses someone else s ideas and written work within their own written work and without citing them, therefore claiming them as their own ideas. Kirton (2007) states that providing evidence is an important dimension of academic writing , so when quotations and citations are not used a writer is plagiarizing someone else s intellectual property . According to Tzu man does not suffer any kind of anguish or pain from doing evil acts, in doing them they just fulfill their needs and feel pleasure. On the other hand, Sartre believes that man, always chooses the good, and nothing can be good for us without being good for all (145) otherwise, man suffers anguish from direct responsibility to the other men to whom it involves (146) choosing the opposite is like choosing evil. Therefore, man teaches himself to do good because his choices are equal to those choices acceptable for all mankind. I agree with Tzu, that people who have not learned the value of caring for others first without receiving any prize in return for their good actions could not feel any remorse in being selfish since that is all that they know. Like Neanderthals, it takes many years to evolve and many more years for learning to happen so that man may be able to act civilized. However, once one has learned to do good it depends on every man to continue to practice the teachings he has acquired and also to keep learning more than necessary to grow. Comparisons that they make using the word Artisan are also employed differently. Tzu uses the example of the potter and his clay, which the artisan turns to a vessel. The life cycles of all land plants alternate between two generations of distinct multicellular organisms which are gametophytes and sporophytes. Each generation give rise to the other otherwise known as alternation of generations which is when the life cycle includes both multicellular haploid organisms and multicellular diploid organisms. Gametophyte is a gamete producing, multicellular haploid (1n). It is named for its production by mitosis of haploid gametes such as egg and sperm, that fuse during fertilization, forming diploid zygotes. This mitotic division of the zygote produces a multicellular diploid sporophyte, which is a spore producing plant. Nature sporophyte produces haploid spores, which are reproductive cells that can develope into a new haploid organism without fusing with another cell. Mitotic division of the spore cell produces a new multicellular gametophyte, and the cycle begins again. 2.Explain why most bryophytes grow close to the ground. Bryophytes are nonvascular plants that are seedless, and do not form a monophyletic group (a clade). There favorable habitat is in moist soil and or tree bark which allows them to germinate and grow into gametophytes. They generally form into ground hugging carpet, because of the bryophytes lack of vascular tissue which is needed to transport water and nutrients in long distances. The thin structure allows bryophyte organs to

Bernays investigated and applied methods of mass consumer influence, by means of any way to attain the profit objective of companies and his desires. It was Bernays who established the first public relations firm and devised the term engineering consent . It refers to the how our notions about human nature have transformed and how the expansion of psychology has permitted social associations to practice these concepts and to exercise further influence over the general public. Barnays was also sure that the concept of venerating consumer merchandise would prove beneficial if used in government schemes for the support and governing of the multitude. He recommended using reversed psychology to set free the illogical being of the individual, and by pleasing their irrational innermost wishes, individuals may perhaps be made content and passive. By businesses creating huge quantities of consumer goods, the behavior of their consumers came to be primeval and instinctive. To start with, the in between space contributes to improving the long existed gendered collective memory. In this case that place was Germany. Wordsworth also does this in order to connect to the audience on a deeper level of thought. For those who have been through a similar situation as Wordsworth, they would feel the presence of walking among unknown Men more noticeably than others. This stanza ties in with the following stanza, Nor, England! did I know till then what love I bore to thee (lines 3 4), to make the primary message of his poem clear: Wordsworth, during his time in Germany, is realizing how much he loves England. Because he has stayed away from England for a long period of time he begins to realize how much he loves it. Wordsworth loves it so much so that he states that, once he returns to England, he will never leave England again (line 6). The reasoning, however, is not because he despises Germany or loves the country of England in its entirety. Rather, it is because of the unknown figure of Lucy who is also a separate focus in this poem. Wordsworth makes the connection between Lucy and England by expressing how his feelings of joy and desire of England came from her presence. She is introduced into the poem at line 11 and 12 in which she turned her wheel beside and English Fire and is confirmed to be Lucy at lines 15 and 16 in which she saw a green field

Now that we are all doing more as momentum builds, it s a good time to remind ourselves about ways to take on more responsibility, speak up, step up and share our thoughts. Sticking to our comfort zone can sometimes lead to a lack of personal and professional growth but if we become more proactive, enthusiastic and willing to tackle difficult conversations, the outcome can take us from an ordinary wallflower to a dynamic contributor! Here are 5 good reasons why we all need to speak up (even when we think we shouldn t) 1.Silence is deemed approval You might think that staying silent keeps you from being involved in conflict but silence is as much an active form of communication as talking. You might feel shy or that you are being judged or you might even feel that other people are dominating the conversation but everyone here has a valuable contribution to make. Your opinions and ideas do matter and we want to hear them. 2.Make the greater good the priority By sharing information, offering opinions and suggestions, you may open up the lines of communication between team members, making them aware of certain situations and perhaps even help to resolve a problem. 3.Show that you are invested If someone invites you into a conversation, show your commitment to the process and people involved by being active and vocal (using tact and empathy of course). Speaking up is an important form of honesty which builds trust.
