2. Multimodal Texts and Desire2Learn
• Multimodal texts, which refer to any text that contains 2 of 5 semiotic
systems of linguistics, auditory, visual, gestural, and spatial, can be
used to provide context for course content and enrich the learning
experience
• D2L FORUMS and D2L NEWS - Embed videos, virtual whiteboard,
games, and other mediums to provide opportunities for adventure
learning, experiential learning, and game-based learning
• Students become active learners when they interact with
multimodal texts; learning is more meaningful
• Here are examples of how I design assessable D2L Forums and News
with embeddable mediums!
