This magazine targets working class teenagers and young adults. The vocabulary and large coverlines are easy to understand to keep readers engaged. Bright colors and images of popular artists like Kanye West will attract younger audiences who likely listen to hip hop and recognize these figures. The magazine also seems aimed at African Americans and males, as the cover features Kanye West, a male African American rapper, and hip hop appeals more commonly to those demographics.
2. The target audience I would expect this magazine to be for, is working class people
because of the vocabulary, the size of the coverlines and the use of different sizes and
bright colours of blue and pink to connotes happiness as it will keep the audiences’
attention, keep them drawn into the magazine and to not make the audience bored. I
also think they will be teenagers/ young adults because of these reasons and also
because the artists that feature in the other coverlines wouldn’t be recognised by some
older people because of the music they produce and the stereotypes about what music
older people listen to (which is like classical music). The target audience of this
magazine would also be African Americans because of the Hip-Hop genre and that
Kanye West (an African American person) is the main image so it will be easier for them
to relate and pick up the magazine and see what else it has to offer and they would also
be male because Kanye is male and most rappers are male, so a majority of people like
them stereotypically like that type of music sometimes.
