3. • The first similarity that I recognised is that they follow they all follow the
same colour scheme of yellow, black and white.
• They all contain a main image with a group of people on it
• Typography is also used on each part in different amounts. On the front cover
and contents page not much is used to not bore the audience and for them to
focus mainly on the images and colour. The typography is also in the same
serif font for the text.
• The same dark clothing is worn between each image in each of the three
parts, but it’s not exactly the same outfit.
• The theme of sadness is also a similarity between the three parts of my
chosen magazine because the same umbrella with rain under it and broken
heart, from the front cover, is on the double page spread in a bigger size
above the main heading. This theme runs through the contents as well
because of the little skulls, the upside down cross and the snakes. This theme
of sadness will be appealing to the target audience because they might
condone them sort of things and might not see it as sadness but
stereotypically it is as not many happy thoughts got through peoples head
when they see that.
• Another thing the three parts have in common is that all of the main images
give some direct address in each shot and they all have at least one full body
shot of a group
