1. I asked people who their favourite
band/artist is and this is a pie chart to
represent the information. I was hoping
that frequent people would come up as it
would make choosing somebody for my
front cover easier as it would show the
most popular gender and age group.
However 18 artists were selected which
made narrowing down the important
information from this harder. This enabled
me to understand that people liked a wide
range of artists and only Chris Brown and
Justin Bieber where mentioned twice. Due
to their popularity being the highest this
showed a clear link- they both produce
pop music. This enabled me to start to
form the idea of a Pop magazine as the
two most popular artists from my
questionnaire were Pop artists which
highlights the genres popularity to the
people I selected to questionnaire. I am
now thinking for my magazine to do a pop
genre with a male on the front cover.

2. I also asked what peoples favourite genre of
music was. I hoped that I would get a
majority overall top genre of music which
would make it easier to me to decide what
my magazine will be based on. 45% of the
people said Pop music was their favourite,
with R’N’B having 20%. This showed to me
that Pop was by far the most popular genre
of music and showed that people mainly
aging from 16-17 liked pop music the best,
which enabled me to appeal to by target
audience by choosing pop music for my
actual music magazine. This also gave me a
clear descion on what would be the best
genre to pick for my magazine: Pop music.
Personally I believe this question worked well
as it allowed me to ask a range of genres and
the end result gave me a clear example of
which was the most popular and which one
to use for my magazine.
