Mood Board
Morgan Emberson
Mission statement.
My magazine will allow readers to get involved and feel a sense of exclusivity
whilst reading the magazine. It will be aimed predominantly at 15-24 year olds,
and they will be predominantly male 60%. My magazine will have information
about niche bands, I hope to produce more publicity for these artists. It will
provide news and informative language, as well as increasing the knowledge
about live gigs/festivals and allowing readers to gain knowledge about reviews
and first person interviews. I hope to include photographs and quotes said by
the specified artists inside my magazine. I plan on creating a modern mold for
music magazines to be inspired by, and for the readers to be inspired by. This
will include publicity towards niche fashion and interests and create some
ground for discussion towards the specified genre of music.
Not only do the indie audience have a good music taste and fashion sense,
they also have an extreme interest in the media as a whole and a very complex
hobby of photography, predominantly using polaroid cameras. The target
audience will also have a good insight into the technology, and they are
considered as technophiles which is expected from the 21st Century .
From the dialogue and data I have received back from my questionnaire, I have
decided to continue with my first option of an indie-genre music magazine. I
decided to make a mood board so I can show what the target audience’s interests
are, and what their fashion sense is.
I’m going to aim my magazine predominantly at males, as my questionnaire came
back as 60% of the audience was male and the target audience at 15-24. They are
also very interested in photography and fashion. Many members of the audience
will listen to music on any device they find compatible and also make their own
music.
