My media product represents the social group of aggressive young black men typically featured in R&B/Hip Hop magazines. Though not specifically targeting any group, my double page spread features three black African/American male models from my school posed in an intimidating manner, consistent with the aggressive and threatening aesthetics commonly seen in my genre. The models are not adorned with jewelry but their dress and facial expressions match the conventions of portraying tough, masculine groups normally seen in R&B and Hip Hop magazines.

How does your media product represent particular social
groups?
My product that i have produced was not aimed at any specific social group in particular.
However as we look into R&B/Hip Hop magazines we normally see aggressive groups of
either two or three and this is what i have included in my product. Normally we see guys or
girls wearing jewellery and the girls wearing provocative garms, in my product i have not
used women but i have used aggressive looking men who’s ethnicity are originally black
African/American. The men are not wearing jewellery as they are people from my school so
not all codes and conventions are followed however i managed to make them look
aggressive which is the main key feature. The dress code and expressions are what you will
usually see in my genre of product. The double page spread of mine contains three people
this makes it look like they are threatening and intimidating.
