Evaluation 2: How does your media product represent particular social groups
1.
2. I represent my social group in my product by my
model, who is a young adult. This alerts my readers
from just viewing my model that my product appeals to
teenagers and others who are around my models age
group which is 14-25.
Furthermore, all my model are dressed in a fashion that
most teens dress today, which represents the social
group throughout my pages.
The colour scheme that I have used is black, white, and
red which is a connotation of power, danger and youth.
All which is represented in mostly rap and R&B.
The names of artist I used all appeal towards my social
group thus showing my understanding towards how I
represent my product with the social groups I indulge
around.
3. I represent gender throughout my
magazine by the colour scheme
used. Red, white, and black are
colours usually associated with
males, however can be also seen
as a unisex selection of colours
thus allowing all genders to
involve themselves within my
magazine.
All my models are from an ethnic
black background which is
dominated throughout the
Rap/Hip-Hop community, thus
making my magazine support the
representation and also makes the
audience generalise our genre.
