What have you learnt from your
audience feedback?

2. • After finishing my A2 coursework where i had to create my own music video, a
digipack for the album and an album poster. I decided I needed to collect some
audience feedback to really understand what I did and did not do so well in. I also
wanted to find out what aspects of my project they found most intriguing
• I decided to ask 5 boys and 5 girls between the ages of 18-25 to watch my music
video and look at my digipack and album advert, with a sheet of the typical
conventions i used in my genre, I asked them to then fill in a questionnaire I
devised
From looking at other music video with the
same genre, of love, as my video. I was able to
make a list of the typical conventions of a love
music video:
• Good use of colours
• Filters used
• Uses the beat to change image, although not
all the time
• Good use of costume and props
• Simple story line
• To conclude, I represented my feedback on a pie chart and outlined what was
learnt.

From the research I undertook I was able to confirm that my target audience was correct for
the genre of music video I created. 4/5 girls interviewed had 100% positive feedback and 3/5
boys interviewed gave 100% positive feedback. This illustrated the fact that my target
audience is not equal for males and females, however it does work for the large majority
Through my research I was also able to confirm that my 3 projects all synergize well together
and my over all product is successful. This investigation has proved to me that 7/10 people
would be highly intrigued to my project, confirming that it was successful.
