The document discusses the various media technologies used at different stages of creating a regional magazine. Google was used for initial research on existing regional magazines. Blogger was used to present work online and track progress. Wix was used to design the magazine website due to its templates and ease of editing. Photoshop allowed for image and text editing. A Canon camera was used to take high quality images. Facebook and iMessage facilitated focus groups and model coordination in the post-production stage.
1. EvaluationQuestion 4
How did you use media technologies in the construction,
research and planning and evaluation stages?
2. Google
I used Google throughout my research and planning stages to get
information on regional magazines existing media, including the
websites the regional magazines produced. Finding existing media
on regional magazines allowed me to explore the conventions of
magazines that are similar to mine, without google the research
and planning stage would have taken a lot longer as I would have
had to buy copies of the magazine.
3. Blogger
Blogger is the site I used to present my work. It was
easy to use and it could be accessed from any
computed so was convenient to me. Also the layout of
blogger made it also clear to see the progression of my
coursework as more things went on there. Using
blogger ensured I wouldn’t have had to make physical
copies of my work throughout relevant stages and thus
saving money and time
4. Wix
Wix is the site I used to design my regional magazine website. Wix
uses templates that you can chose and edit to how you want your
website to look like. The fact it was laid out this way made it very
easy to add text, images and links in order to create a website that
was reflective of my magazine.
5. Photoshop
I used Photoshop to edit and design all pages in my production. I
edited images by changing brightness and contrasts, Photoshop
also allowed me to edit texts as well. Photoshop was an effective
programme to use for editing my production as it gave me all the
tools necessary in one place to make my production as good as it
could possibly be.Without Photoshop I would have had to use a
poorer quality editing software that would have given my a less
effective production.
6. Camera
The camera I used was a canon EOS 1300D, this camera allowed
me to get the best quality images. The camera was very easy to
use.The camera was also very practical as it had an adapter that I
could plug into my computer and transfer images from my camera
to a memory stick quickly and efficiently.Without this camera I
would have had to use a potentially lower quality camera that
would produce lower quality images which in turn would have
made production less like real media products.
7. Facebook and
iMessage
Facebook and iMessage allowed me to arrange focus groups in
group chats and make improvements from what people said could
be improved in the post production stage of my magazine.
Facebook also allowed me to arrange times and places to meet up
with my models I used quickly and efficiently.
