2. Existing audiences
Looking at example of regional magaizens I believe the type of person to be reading these would
be middle aged and of female gender, with a majority viewpoint (folloing the hegemonic norms) I
would like to appeal to my chosen audience by showing them the Kent lifestyle and all the
beauty that lies around Kent. To enforce this I have chosen to call my magazine ‘Kentish living. I
believe I will get my preferred reading from my target audience I will use many photos that show
off Kent’s natural beauty
3. Analysis
Other factors are just important in following the hegemonic norms of regional magazines such as
creating enigmas but giving hints in sub headings to my magazine, this will make my audience
want to read my magazine. I have also notice that the text on magazines is almost entirely linear
and organised this makes the the text easier to read fulfilling he audiences need for quick and
easy access to information.
4. My Target Audience
I believe my audience will be predominantly targeted at females around the ages of 25-50 years
old, this is mainly due to my research into existing media and I found that this is the majority of
the demographic that enjoy reading regional magazines however I may aim some things at the
male audience as I feel there is a very limited supply of media for this demographic and is
therefore a gap that has been unexploited.
