2. PHOTOSHOP
Photoshop, I mainly used this software for the front cover of the magazine and to
edit photos. I have learnt how to get a stroke on text and make it thicker as well as
learning how to add effect to the photos by going to image adjustments of levels or
brightness/ contrast to make the photos more interesting.
3. INDESIGN
InDesign, I used InDesign for the content pages and double page spread. I
have learnt how to use the layers properly on the software as this helped on
the construction of the contents page and double page spread especially
when I want the text to be placed on top of images. The layers allowed the
contents page and the double page spread to be organised and simpler to
construct.
4. IILUSTRATOR
Illustrator, I used illustrator for the logo of pulse , I had an induction from a
teacher on how to use the software. Its quite similar to InDesign so it was easy
and straightforward . I made sure that that the logo for pulse was bold and
simple and had the colour of pulse in it. I then exported in as a jpeg, and was
able to place it into InDesign.
5. BLOGGER
Blogger, I used blogger to post the process and progress on making the maga0zine, I
have learnt how to upload images videos, slide share and Prezi onto my blogger by
using the html and getting the embed code to place into the html. Blogger has
become easier to use as I have uploaded many things about the magazine.
PREZI
I used Prezi to also help plan pulse magazine and to help make the
planning of pulse magazine more visual.
6. SLIDESHARE & TIMETOAST
Slide Share and time toast, I used slide share to help upload the
PowerPoint I made on the plan for pulse magazine, I used Time Toast to
show a timeline of the schedule of the coursework this helped me to be
on track with meeting deadlines of tasks and keeping organised on what I
had to do during making the music magazine.
7. PHOTOGRAPHY
Photography, to improve the photography of the magazine, I used DLSR
cameras in the studio to take professional photos. Before we used the
expensive cameras, I had to take a induction lesson on how to use the studio
and which buttons to press . In my opinion the induction was very useful
because without it, I am sure I would have made many mistakes. I used a white
back drop in my photo shoot to make my pictures appear brighter. For my
location pictures I took the images with my phone , which impressively took
quite good quality photos. However I had to edit some in Photoshop to make
the photos brighter as the location of some were slightly dull and dark.
