1. Proposal: New Music Magazine
I have chosen an indie theme for my final magazine. To me this is the best idea
for a magazine as it is an easier option than a pop magazine as it will be more
organized and look more professional. Pop magazines can be covered in lots of
different images and it can get too crowded so I would rather keep it plain and
simple yet at the same time bold and eye-catching. This theme can really benefit
with me and the models I have chosen as I feel they fit the theme. In my opinion,
what makes a good selling magazine would have to be based around what's inside
it. For instance, in today's society people love reading about celebrities and the
gossip of their life. Also it must include bold and eye-catching photos as to me it
draws the attention of the audience and depending on who is used in the photos it
will make the audience want to read more if it is a picture of a well-known
celebrity or artist. If I was to release my magazines regularly I would release one
every month. I think that with a monthly issue you can include more things in it
that people would want to know and read yet if it were weekly you may end up
repeating something or run out of ideas, so with a monthly issue you will have to
gossip and information over the course of the past 4 weeks. Because it is a
monthly magazine it will have a lot more pages in it as it will have a lot more
information to fit in to carry out until the next issue, and based on talking about
the past 4 weeks it will be a lot more descriptive than a short paragraph for if it
was a weekly issue.
My target audience is based around teenagers and young adults as they are more
open in today's society and know a lot more than young children or adults, so it
will really relate with them and have all of the stuff that they want to know. They
will benefit from reading the magazine because they will want to buy it each
month in order to find out what is going on in today's music industry with their
favourite artists e.g. Rhianna, Beyoncé, Kanye West... Other magazines in that I
would be in competition with would be Q magazine which is obviously the biggest
and well known one out there. I think what makes there magazine as big as I hope
mine to be is the fact that it is filled with everything that today's society want to
read about with celebrity's in the public eye. I think what magazines today lack is
the personal side of the articles. They write about the gossip and the statistics off
what artists are up to in today's society but they don't write about how the artists

2. make us feel and what their songs mean to the public. Or what's really behind the
words of the song.
For my magazine I want to add them extra details about how the songs can relate
to people and me and how the artists felt when making them. Make the articles
more personal for the audience. Apart from adding more personal details of the
artists I would still like to keep to the same style of the magazines as that's what
sells them to the public and if I were to change that then people might not buy it
due to it being so different and maybe even out of peoples comfort zones on what
the magazine is really about. As of right now I've picked out the models I want for
the look of my magazine. Once I have taken the photos which I have booked for
the 23rd of October I will know where to go from there as I can base the
decorative side of the magazine around the photos that I have taken. I haven't got
any ideas for my feature article that I am certain on keeping. For now I am just
sticking with he idea of having a double page based on two of my models as
partners of the newest album of 2015 for them. I have decided that for my
background I want all of the photos to have a black backdrop as it adds a dramatic
element to the photos which is what I aiming for. As for costumes I have yet to
decide as well as if I want any props but I do know that I don't want many props
as I don't want any distractions from the models as I want the audiences eye to be
set on them and not something that they may or may not be holding. I want my
magazine to be very interactive and informative when it comes to the artists. For
example, their social media like Instagram, twitter, snap-chat, Facebook...
Although I want it to look quite edgy as well.
In order for my magazines to sell I will publish it on my social media accounts
and get my models to advertise it on their social media accounts
