1. Evaluation question 5
My target audience is that of an age from 16 to about 15,
this meaning that the majority of my readership will come
from students/ those leaving education. I have chosen to
aim my magazine and the lower, more working class as
well. The readership will come from a variety of sub
cultures such as indie, metal, punk, rap metal and so on. it
is not aimed at a specific genre or ethnicity, however I
expect the main viewers to be white Caucasian.
2. Magazine cover
On my cover i have included a plug, which informs the
viewer that they have the chance to win a PRS guitar.
This will attract my viewer as they have a chance to
own a guitar and be like those they admire in bands
which may be featured, such competition is good
especially for the working class as they may not have
enough money to spend on items such a guitars.

On my cover i mainly used the colours red and
yellow, but brighter shades of the two, this will
attract audiences since the colours are bright and
stand out, this will draw my peoples eyes to the
magazine when browsing across the magazine
rack since they are far from dull.
I included the price along with the date at the
bottom of the cover with the barcode, this being
so that the audience can clearly identify the
price and whether or not they are willing to pay
and also to see how relevant the issue of the
magazine they are looking at is.
3. Contents page
I kept to the house style with font and
colours of mainly red and yellow being
used. This being so that my magazine
seems more professional and consistent,
this means it will be more appealing to
any readers, which may increase the
chance of buying my magazine each time
it actually comes out in stores.
I have included information with each contents
page link, so that they reader can see a short
summary of what will be contained in each
article and also give them a taste of the
writing style. This may attract them since it
may be a style of writing which they can
understand making them more likely to buy
the magazine and also the summary letting
them see if the article will interest them or
not.

4. Double page spread
I have three images of the same female model and
cropped them together for the image on my double page
spread. The image itself is that of a medium long shot,
so the audience can see what she looks like a wears.
this being important and attracting female readers so
they can see that she dresses relatively ‘normal’ and
achievable and also because she is the same age as
some of the readers so they will connect with her on a
deeper level
I have chosen to go with the format of Q&A,
this will be appealing to my target audience
especially with the intended age and social
class, since most of them wn’t want to read
through one long article, the Q&A format splits
the article up making it seem shorter and
easier to read.
I used a contrast between dark and light colour over my
double-page spread, with the far right side towards the
left side going from dark black to white, with the use of
the colour red in the article itself, helps stick with the
house style of mainly brighter colours but the including
of some which are darker, which represent the darker
sounding music which the magazine may represent in
the future.
