Why  are  you  undertaking  this  research?   o Because  I  want  to  make  sure  that  the  marketing  material  I  make  as  part  of   the  marketing  team  is  as  good  as  it  can  be   o Because  I  want  to  make  sure  that  I  don’t  make  the  kind  of  mistakes  that  were   made  by  the  marketing  I’ve  look  at  that  wasn’t  very  successful   o Because  I  want  to  try  to  make  sure  the  show  is  a  success   iii. Who  should  you  involve  in  this  research,  e.g.  members  of  the  target  audience?   o I  will  carry  out  my  research  myself   o I  will  use  members  of  the  school  community  who  are  the  target  audience  for   the  show   iv. What  research  do  you  need  to  undertake  to  help  you  generate  ideas  for  a  new   product  (e.g.  market  research  into  the  popularity  of  existing  products  or  to  identify   potential  gaps  in  the  market  )?   o I  will  undertake  some  research  into  other  marketing  campaigns  because  I   want  to  draw  some  conclusions  about  what  works  and  what  doesn’t  and   especially  because  I  want  to  think  about  how  to  make  sure  you  marketing   appeals  to  your  target  audience   o I  will  undertake  some  primary  research  on  my  target  audience  to  ask  them   what  they  think  about  my  plans  for  my  marketing  material.   v. Where  will  the  research  take  place  and  what  sources  are  available  to  you?   o My  marketing  campaign  is  for  the  school  show  so  I  will  do  my  research   around  school   o I  will  do  some  initial  research  online  and  I  will  use  the  computers  here  to   write  a  questionnaire   o I  will  use  the  questionnaire  to  interview  different  students  and  staff  around   the  school  to  get  their  opinions   vi. What  different  forms  will  your  research  take?   o I  will  do  some  textual  analysis  of  other  marketing  campaigns  for  media   products   o  I  will  do  some  primary  research  into  the  target  audience
