1. Looking back at your preliminary
task, what do you feel you have
learnt in the progression from it to
the full product?
Since my preliminary task I feel I have learnt
a lot and have improved on my knowledge
and understanding of production of a media
product. I also feel I have improved with using
technologies such as Photoshop which I will
now further explain:

2. The key factor for me is that I learnt that it is key to find out your target audiences interests and needs. In
other words research into your audience. For my preliminary task I did not do this and for my music magazine
I did therefore achieving a better result. This research came in different forms such as researching existing
products such as rap magazine ‘Vibe’ to gain a better understanding of their conventions and also as
mentioned researching my target audience through use of secondary research such as statistics found on the
internet and primary research in the form of questionnaires.
