1. Aims and Considerations sheet
Existing Products:
How many existing artefacts do you feel you will need to look at?I think at the least I need to look
at is at least three but I want to be looking at around five just to be able to see what ways and
techniques they use to try and get money within print based media such as posters etc.
What kinds of artefacts are you expecting to look at?Iwould be lookingat posters that are
anywhere and everywhere, looking at the positioning where they are. Also at bus shelters and
other forms.
What elements will you be looking at to help you with your research? The persuasive text, colours
used and where, imagery that’s used.
Primary Research:
How many people would you hope to question as part of your primary research? I’d want to
question at least 15 people so I have a fair range on people’s opinion.
What age group would you like to target and why?i want to be targeting 16-24 as that’s the age
range the charity is protecting and helping and so they will know what it’s like to be that age and it
would be clear and be more grateful for the fact they’re life wasn’t as hard being on the streets at
that age.
What methods will you use?I will look at websites and also blogs that feature different posters to
be able to see their techniques and uses.
How will you know if your research has been successful?I will know whether it has been
successful once I’ve applied all the techniques to my own poster and it has the same effect if not
better if I have taken parts from a lot of different styled posters.
2. Considerations:
Why might you need to be sensitive when carrying out research during this project? You’ll need
to be sensitive to make sure you don’t offend or upset anyone whilst in the process of making and
also going careful when looking at people’s connection and story with the homeless charities.
Could you face any problems when trying to do this research? If so, is there a way to overcome
these? If I don’t get any responses from my online questionnaire then I will have to do a survey by
asking random people to answer it for me.
Where would you expect your finished pieces to be displayed and distributed?I would want it
posted on walls as posters within towns, train stations, bus shelters places that are regularly seen
and visited to get as much attention as possible to get the response needed.
What funding issues might an organisation like SASH face?As they don’t get funding from
anywhere other than people giving donations it would be hard if they’re not getting an money
through.
