Thinking back to my most recent
preliminary task, there has not been a
huge development in my skills. Despite
that, when I think about my first
attempt of the preliminary task, I feel
that I have learnt many things
throughout the process which has
allowed me to create my film opening
at a standard I am happy with.
Firstly: Planning
My planning and organisation skills
have developed since completing my
preliminary task video. Unlike my
preliminary task, during the pre-
production period of my film opening I
created a shot list to organise what I
needed in each shot and the
actors/helpers I needed for specific
shots.
Having a shot list also helped me to
figure out my proposed film date based
on when the chosen actors and
helper(s) were available. The shot list
also helped me to think through the
most appropriate location for filming
.
Secondly: Sound
I have learnt about the importance of
diegetic and non-diegetic sound in
film. In comparison to my preliminary
task (first one), my film opening shows
that my understanding of what sound
fits best according to the themes, genre
and etc has greatly improved.
