YOLANDIE JANSEN VAN VUUREN
SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
Having matriculated in 1993 at Stilfontein High School in Stilfontein, I proceeded to the North West
University where I studied for a period of several years and completed B Com, Hons. Comm and
eventually M Comm. degrees in Industrial Psychology in 2005. I have also completed an MBA.
During my 3 year full time study period from 1994-1996, I worked at different companies on a part time
basis to enable myself to pay study fees.
In 1996, I started working as Project Manager in a Company that administers RDP housing projects in the
Northwest Province where I gained valuable experience in Project Management and relationships with
Government. Thereafter, from 1999 – 2001, I managed two business colleges in Klerksdorp and then
proceeded into my field of study and interest namely Human Resources.
I joined AngloGold Ashanti in 2001 and I started my career at as Assistant Human Resources Officer
responsible for bonuses. Within a year I was placed on a fast tracking Management Development Scheme
(HR Management Trainee programme). I have since gained the following experience within the Human
Resources / Management field:
 Process related production experience in a Shaft environment
 Production related experience in a Shaft environment as a Assistant Human Resources Officer ,
Human Resources Officer and Snr Human Resources Officer at various Anglogold Ashanti Mines
 Project Experience at AngloGold Ashanti’s Moab Khotsong Project and Project Katleho and in 2010-
2011 in Anglogold Ashanti’s ONE project as member of the Implementation team, 2012 as member of
the oneERP SAP implementation team.
 Management experience: 8 years as Snr HR officer and 3 years as EXCO member: Human Resources
for Anglogold Ashanti Health Service.
I am confident that I have sufficient experience in the following main HR functions:

Offices of Project Katleho were 3.5 km from the station on 72 level of Kopanang Mine. We went
underground every day and walked the 3.5 km to the offices and 3.5 km back to the station.
My supervisor nominated me for the Fast tracking Development Programme and after grueling
selection processes, I started as Management Trainee at Kopanang Mine 6 months after starting at
Anglogold Ashanti.
Shaft : MOAB KHOTSONG MINE (11 #)
Position : Management Trainee, Human Resources
Job Description :
• Fast tracking Management program
• Psychometric testing and Recruitment
• Job design and organizational design
• Completed internship program required for registration as Psychologist
The management trainee program had certain set areas of learning that had to be adhered to such as
training and development, staffing, getting to know the business of producing gold etc.
In addition to the program I also assisted with psychometric testing on the SPEEX system and was
involved in job design and organizational design due to my academic background.
I also wrote an Anglogold Ashanti implementation document that provided all Snr. HR Managers with a
framework for implementation of the Woman in Workplace target of 10 % according to the Mining
Charter.
This was accepted at National level and signed off by the then CEO, Bobby Godsell. Anglogold
Ashanti still uses this document to benchmark their progress in terms of Woman in the Workplace.
Shaft : TAU LEKOA MINE (10#) – up to 8 March 2006

• Moved with the Snr HR Manager as trainee and assistant to Metallurgy for 2
months before I was re deployed onto a companywide return from leave
project.
Shaft : RETURN FROM LEAVE PROJECT: June 2006 – Aug 2007
Position : PROJECT LEADER
This project was championed by Corporate Office and aimed to restructure the route employees follow
when returning from leave. It was presented to VP’s at Rand Refinery and then implemented as
procedure in Anglogold Ashanti. Summary of outcomes delivered include a project Charter and scope
document to be signed off and a comprehensive feedback document on the findings, inclusive of
evidence collected.

We went underground every day and walked the 3.5 km to the offices and 3.5 km back to the station. My supervisor nominated me for the Fast tracking Development Programme and after grueling selection processes, I started as Management Trainee at Kopanang Mine 6 months after starting at Anglogold Ashanti. Shaft : MOAB KHOTSONG MINE (11 #) Position : Management Trainee, Human Resources Job Description : • Fast tracking Management program • Psychometric testing and Recruitment • Job design and organizational design • Completed internship program required for registration as Psychologist The management trainee program had certain set areas of learning that had to be adhered to such as training and development, staffing, getting to know the business of producing gold etc. In addition to the program I also assisted with psychometric testing on the SPEEX system and was involved in job design and organizational design due to my academic background. I also wrote an Anglogold Ashanti implementation document that provided all Snr. HR Managers with a framework for implementation of the Woman in Workplace target of 10 % according to the Mining Charter. This was accepted at National level and signed off by the then CEO, Bobby Godsell. Anglogold Ashanti still uses this document to benchmark their progress in terms of Woman in the Workplace. Shaft : RETURN FROM LEAVE PROJECT: June 2006 – Aug 2007 Position : PROJECT LEADER This project was championed by Corporate Office and aimed to restructure the route employees follow when returning from leave. It was presented to VP’s at Rand Refinery and then implemented as procedure in Anglogold Ashanti. Summary of outcomes delivered include a project Charter and scope document to be signed off and a comprehensive feedback document on the findings, inclusive of evidence collected.
